Why do straight guys doing gay porn solos not show their holes?

Why is it that so many guys doing gay solo porn shoots are still so reluctant to show their assholes? come on guys, this is porn. When you're fucking a girl on cam, your hole is invariably on display. Is it because they're scared of being thought of as gay, or is it a little bit homophobic!!!

This is just a guess, but straight guys probably are a little bashful about that. As a striaght guy, I can't imagine anyone wanting to see that part of me. Even if I was 20 and studly. I don't think that it is based on any homophobia, but more 'who'd want to see that?' But if there is blame to be spread (oops, bad pun) it's probably best aimed at the directors. The director should know what the customers want to see and make it happen.

I'd agree with rearadmiral. I think the problem with these sites is that they always want to play up the idea of the guy being straight because it turns so many gay men on.

If he acts like he's enjoying it, or he understands men would like to see it, it makes you think the model is really gay - which to be honest, a lot of them are.

If I was directing it I'd allow him to not show it naturally, then make sure it was on film with me telling him to do it and looking confused at why and reluctant to do it!

This is the trouble with porn, so much is badly directed. I'd love to do it myself but I'd leap on the models!

I suspect that sentiment is shared by a lot of us here!

So, what is it exactly that makes solo guys posing gay porn? I'm absolutely not meaning to offend or anything but as I've known ladies who are into porn, I guess they are looking at those same videos and pictures.

Of course there's the standard porn male bias and double standards that make "lesbianism" more acceptable than "heterosexuality" and even single males in pictures "gay" but I guess that we just have to live with

I'd say a solo guy posing isn't automatically gay porn, I think what manholelover is talking about is sites which are specifically marketed as being for gay men rather than all solo male porn.

If you're marketing it for gay men, asshole shots are particularly important for a lot of them - for women maybe not so much.

I have never understood why that should be the norm.
I do agree that is generally the case.

Personally, I find both "lesbianism" & "gay" equally unattractive.

The reason for the double standard could simply be that if 2 girls make out then it will appeal to lesbians and guys that like that kind of porn. Hetero women will probably not want to watch 2 girls make out. If 2 guys make out than it will only appeal to gays since guys will really not want to watch that and I don't think women will want to either. Long live the Brown Coats.

Even though we have not had a lot of input form gay and lesbian PUers (until recently), I do remember a few responses over the years that were not what I expected. If my memory serves me correctly, a bisexual man stated that he did not enjoy gay porn, only heterosexual. I also remember a post by someone, who self described as gay, who only joined sites that were heterosexual, in spite of the fact that he had no interest in actually doing heterosexual sex. I also remember a lesbian who stated that she would only enjoy lesbian sites that were run by lesbians as those that appealed to men had no appeal to her. She stated they were not like real lesbian sex. I also remember her stating that she was offended by heterosexual sex. Even more surprisingly, she stated that it was not unusual for gay men to have sex with lesbian women. I aint kidding, she really stated that. Go figure. My conclusion is that nothing about porn and sex appeal is ALWAYS true, or even predictable. Edited on Jul 15, 2011, 12:15pm

I agree with mbaya that nothing about sex appeal is always predictable. As a gay man, i do occasionally get turned on by straight porn, obviously with focus being on the guys. I can understand why lesbians wouldn't necessarily be turned on by straight marketed lesbian porn as it caters specifically for the straight male market. Equally many gay men often view men is a different sexual way to straight women, or find different things attractive about them. ultimately,it's not really about sexual orientation, but what you find hot/attractive/sexy about the person - regardless of gender. It's just that straights tend to prefer the opposite sex, gays the same sex. If you get what I mean...

And I've heard straight guys complain loudly about porn that includes guys with uncircumcised dicks--because it "looks weird"--or whenever the guy's wearing a condom. Or the even larger number of straight guys who don't want to see fat and hairy actors in their boy-girl hardcore. Hey, if you're only attracted to the gals in the video, why would the guy, much less his foreskin, matter?

I guess you could even take a bunch of straight guys, have them watch some gay porn, and they still respond "Well, the girls-free sex does nothing for me, but man are these dudes in great shape!"

Or is it something akin to the stereotype that only gay men know how to properly dress a straight woman? "It's incredibly obvious, isn't it? A foreign substance is introduced into our precious bodily fluids without the knowledge of the individual. Certainly without any choice. That's the way your hardcore Commie works." - Gen. Jack D. I have heard straight guys complain that they don't like that in Japanese porn their dicks are too small.
