Gift memberships I've got a friend I'm wanting to get a porn subscription for as a present. Any sites where you can do this? Any risks if I sign up and just give them the log in details (I wouldn't be using it, but could they for example get access to my details?) Any advice would be appreciated. | |

I don't know whether your friend having a different IP address than the one you sign up with would be an issue or not. I would suggest writing to the site you're considering, telling them what you want to do. It would seem to me any reasonable webmaster would be happy to get your business. I'm rather curious so I hope I don't sound too much like a jerk but why would you give a friend a subscription to a porn site. I guess it could be considered a nice gesture but there are a lot nicer things to give to someone other than a porn subscription. Can't your friend get his or her own subscription to that site? I think RB may be correct and the fact that your are the one registering for the site and not your friend may be considered a breach of the contract with the site if you allow your friend access to it under your information. I'm not sure of the consequences but you could get banned form the site and maybe even blacklisted. If your friend can't join because of lack of a credit card then why not get them a prepaid one and he or she can join whichever site they want. Long live the Brown Coats. | |

Most sites will allow you to access them from a couple different IP addresses, but throw up a flag if there's a lot of them in a short amount of time (24 hours is the time period I've heard most often). So if the only time you access it is at the original signup, and then give the info to the other person and don't log in again, you shouldn't have that problem. That being said, I agree with Pat that if you want to do this, the best way to do it would be to give the friend a pre-paid credit card loaded with the amount of money needed to join the site for however long you want them to subscribe. | |

Each year I have a tradition of getting (as well as your typical presents) a oddball present for some friends, we're all pretty open, in the past they have brought me sex toys etc. Is like anything yeah they could get the subscription themselves, but I'm finding and giving them one they wouldn't normally perhaps get themselves. I know suicidegirls do a gift subscription service but thats the only site...and they're not exactly hardcore. | |
