Free gift to users with 100 posts or more!

We pre-paid a cartoonist, Jerry, to create custom avatars at no charge to our most active users. If (or when) you reach 100 forum posts, we'd like to reward you with a free custom avatar!

If you have 100 or most posts, here's how to proceed:

1. Think of what you'd like your avatar to be. Could be just about anything! There are no real limits, as long as it follows our general avatar guidelines.

2. Use our contact us form (make sure you're logged in) and send us an e-mail with the subject "Free Avatar". Assuming you qualify, we will reply with Jerry's e-mail address.

3. Send Jerry an e-mail with the subject "PornUsers.com Avatar" and describe in the best detail possible what you want your avatar to look like. Send him a picture or whatever you think would guide him in the right direction.

4. He will e-mail you back your free custom avatar (he's usually pretty quick). It's that easy!

You can do whatever you want with the avatar, it's yours to keep! You can use it on this forum or any other forum. There's also no requirement to use it if you choose not to.

This offer currently will be ongoing. So if you don't have 100 posts yet, don't stop posting! Once you reach that mark, you can claim your prize.

There aren't too many things that would make me wish I was 25 again, but this sure is one of 'em. I won't wear bifocals, so I have a pair of reading glasses and a pair for driving. I was thinking of asking the doc for a pair of "middlins" cuz the monitor is too far away for one and not far enough away for the other. I can see I need to stop thinking and go for it. Thanks for the clarification here. :laughs: Sarcasm is a body's natural defense against stupidity.

Well it's good to know that you'll be too blind to do anything if your rage really takes control! :)

But seriously, this is a cool idea and a unique way to reward the more fervent perverts -- I mean users! -- on here. Now I just have to come up with what I want for an avatar... Thats a nice and original idea, I like it. When or if I ever qualify for it though is another matter.

RB, you could get your angry face imortalized in cartoon form.

Did the same man do the pornusers staff avatars? they are good.

Just remember that Omar Abdel-Rahman, the so-called Blind Sheik, supposedly masterminded the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center. Blindness doesn't have to be a handicap.

Yeah - I thought about that. But I don't think the Rage would translate well to a cartoon. LOL Sarcasm is a body's natural defense against stupidity.

He looks a little like him, but only a little. Plus, considering he is still doing scenes, I think that Herschel would have no reason to be as angry looking as RB. "It's incredibly obvious, isn't it? I never did. Took mine back three times to the Optometrist and finally gave up, too narrow a field of view for each distance! My neck was chronically stiff. This time I asked for computer glasses. I love them.

I've had more than one optometrist tell me that varifocals aren't good for the eyes. Unlike the lenses with lines, the portion of the lense that transitions from one strength to the other actually does more harm than good. Sarcasm is a body's natural defense against stupidity.

OK - tech question, now that I've got my nifty custom avatar, which is different than I expected, but quite amusing - how does one turn a 38k avatar into a 15k avatar to fit the PU standards?

With a file size that large, I'm assuming the picture is physically larger than the 100 x 100 maximum size allowed here. If that's the case, you'd need some form of graphics editting program to resize it. If you don't have any, here's a link to a page with free editors.http://graphicssoft.about.com/od/pixelba.../tp/freephotoedw.htm Sarcasm is a body's natural defense against stupidity.

That sounds like it's a .bmp or .tiff file. Try using a graphics editor to save it as a jpg or, better still, a png file. Not that it'll matter much with a small picture, but you'll maintain better quality with a png. Sarcasm is a body's natural defense against stupidity.

I've never seen a jpg of those proportions with a file size that huge. But here's one last thing to try. Open the file in MSPaint and save it as a bitmap (bmp). Then save it again as a jpg. I did those same steps, copying my avatar from here, and the file size went from 18.2kb to 2.03kb. So maybe that'll give you the compression you need. If that doesn't work, you might want to get in touch with Jerry to see if he paints with gold plated pixels. Sarcasm is a body's natural defense against stupidity.

Mine came to me as a jpeg also. When I opened it, I hit the button to save and the choices of file types opened up. I hit png and that did the trick.

Glad to see that Rick and the gang came up with some "reward" for the heavy duty posters here ... and, please god, let someone cartoonize Ragingbuddhist so our suffering will end ;) As for me, Mr. Ass is perfect in his current form and has no plans on letting anyone stick a pencil/pen up his woo-hoo.

This is actually my first trip back here in quite a while so I'll use this post as an opportunity to drop a quick howdy off to all. Things are still hectic on the home front for me so my AWOL status will continue for a while. I'm going to try and work up the '09 Forum awards over the Turkey Day holiday so don't expect to see much of me around here until sometime around then. Keep on posting y'all.

The avatar you're using now doesn't relate to your nick in any obvious way. Why change that? You're wide open to have an avatar made of anything your imagination can whip up. Sarcasm is a body's natural defense against stupidity.

True enough, RB. I picked the present icon after a long search because I liked the lone wolf idea and it could also convey my frustration (baying at the moon) in connection with finding a site that exactly suits my taste!(Mature women, lingerie ... just in case someone came across one recently and wants to pass on the information.) But as you say, practically anything would do. Maybe a Granny in a full slip? But then folks might assume that was me! :-)

I was thinking about that, Khan, but somehow, over the years I have become my nic and would be hesitant to even drop one "s". If that makes any sense. :-)

I picked the present icon after a long search because I liked the lone wolf idea...

If Jerry could come up with my avatar from a one sentence description, I'm pretty sure he could render a great cartoon version of your wolf. If you go with the Granny idea, just do what I've seen on other forums - just put up a signature that says something like, "Don't let the avatar fool ya - I'm a guy". Sarcasm is a body's natural defense against stupidity.

I personally think you already have a classy avatar. If you made any changes, the only improvement that I can see would be to make the wolf slightly more visible, and maybe change the color of the moon a bit to make it more realistic. But the idea of a wolf howling at the moon is definitely cool, and fits with the times (vampires and werewolves are definitely in right now).
