ALS Scan dead - at least temporarily It's more than 10 hours now that I can't connect to the ALS Scan website. Does anyone know what's going on there? I'm a bit confused and unhappy because I was waiting for today's update :-( alsangels.com is still working but seems kinda slow. | |

They must have had a server crash. ALS is a top site with good management. Figures it has to happen on the weekend. I wouldn't worry they will get it fixed. I always had great interation with thier support and staff. Will | |

From a customer point of view I was and still am very happy with Alex and his crew. The amount of stuff I already downloaded from ALS Scan alone won't fit on a 640GB hdd :-) It's only that it had to happen over the weekend *ggrrrh!* Well, I'm pretty sure that they will do almost anything to get the site up and running again. | |

Yesterday they promised to extend running subscriptions as an excuse for the fact that the site was down over the weekend. Further details I'd expect to appear in Alex's blog within the member's area. Let's see what happens :-) To be honest I wouldn't care about an extension as I'm a member for quite some time now and already downloaded hundreds of GB from their servers. As long as they provide me with stuff I like I'll stay there! | |

I just like to see where sites make some attempt to compensate people when they don't have access through no fault of their own. It just makes a site more appealing if you know they're looking out for their members. Sarcasm is a body's natural defense against stupidity. | |

I am not a current member, but I would still consider myself a lifelong loyal fan of their perverted arts, so I hope they fix this soon. No need to worry turboshaft as ALS Scan seems to be up and running again. But I/we have to wait for an official statement from Alex. Guess he'll be very exhausted right now and boy I glad that I'm not one of the persons responsible for the downtime. I'm sure that Alex pushed his technical staff quite hard in order to get the site up and running again. Now for some cultural programme ... as I brought up Frank Zappa here we have a very nice version of "Montana" played live in NYC http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=smXctlhgcHk&NR=1 as we can see was FZ almost as pedantic in his work - or may it be vice versa? - as Alex ;-) Unfortunately he's not playing the (lead) guitar in this version. | |
