Update.

After my posts on PU and my email communications from the webmaster last week, I thought we were good to go.

In his last email to me on Friday, 3/27 in response to the premature shutdown of my trial membership, he said, "...what will make you happy? do you want another day of access? or do you need to know customer support will get back to you?"

Because I consider responsive customer service very important for any sites I join, I responded with an email that said, simply, that I needed to know that customer support will get back to me.

I told him that, if he would give me that assurance, I would be signing up immediately because I really like the site.

Today, four days later, i have received no reply at all.

This tells me, simply, that, with this site, "you pays your money, you takes your chances." Unless and until I get some assurance that I can count on a full month of access for a full month membership fee, whicch seems unlikely with PornstarXS, they won't see my money.

Update.

As I summarized in my PU comment, after I posted my issue on PU, I received a response from the Webmaster who offered to set me up with a temporary logon so I would get the full deal.

The temporary logon was more temporary than promised; it shut down before the promised expiry.

Although the webmaster says that we should contact him if we have any problems, neither he nor the site's customer service staff have responded at all.

The site is excellent with a lot of content not available elsewhere. But if one cannot access the site with a paid subscription, what's the point?

Shame. I like the site a lot and would be signing up for a full membership for sure if I had any confidence at all that they would provide basic support on a timely basis when things go wrong. But I don't have any confidence at all.

OK, so the last chapter has been written.

Yes I was issued a temporary logon id and password as the webmaster promised, and it worked fine...for a while. Then the same thing. Access denied.

And emails to them continue to go unanswered.

It's a shame because, as I've said, I really like the site, but not enough to go through the hassle of trying to get some response, any response, from them when I get prematurely shut down.

Hopefully they'll get their customer service act together. If they do they'll definitely be in the competitive mix with their counterparts on the web.

OK, still up and accessible 24 hours later so the access shut down must have been an isolated glitch.

So far I've run into a few dead links and the older videos are broken into segments instead of a single run, but so far I'm really liking this site based on 2 days into the trial.

It's a video site, no photos, so you photo guys will need to go elsewhere. Many of the videos are available on VideoBox, XMovies and other main stream video sites. But there's also a whole bunch of content that I have not seen on any other site, which is what really has me interested.

I'll be signing up for a full month membership and will write a real review after I've given the site a full stress test.

About an hour after I did what the Webmaster suggested I got an email back with an acknowledgment that my paid trial was in fact not working. He provided me with a temporary username/password that got me back up and running so now I'll be getting the full 48 hour trial.

Interestingly I got action from the site by posting my problem on Porn Users (this comment and a reply to the latest review). I got no action at all from my emails to the site's webmaster or customer service.

Bottom line based on my experience, so far, is if you sign up for PornstarXS, be sure to post any problems on Porn Users if you want to get the problems resolved. Don't wait for any response from Customer Service.

Now that I'm back on the site as a member, I'm still positive about the content of the site and may take a shot at signing up for a full month or more.

In his response above, the Webmaster said, "anyone reading this disgruntled review - it's simple, sign up for a trial and try it for yourself."

OK. I did. I signed up for the trial so I could try it for myself. I was very favorably impressed with the site, with the content and especially with the navigation, and I felt that I found a site I could stay with for a long time.

That's the good news.

The bad news is that about 24 hours or so into the 2 day trial I could no longer access the site. Instead I received a message that my membership had expired. I sent emails to cs@pornstarXS.com, to webmaster@pornstarXS.com and to Epoch billing support to see what was up.

I got an immediate reply from Epoch advising me that my account was still active and in good order. They suggested I contact the site's customer support for help.

After giving the site more time to reply, I sent a follow-up. Still no answer so I canceled my membership in order to prevent Epoch renewing my membership at the full monthly rate.

As of this writing I have received absolutely no communication at all from anyone at PornstarXS.com.

Frankly I really liked the site so I'm very disappointed that the site has chosen to not be responsive to its customers.

Bottom line, if you are interested in this site, definitely choose the 2 day trial first. That way you're out only $4 if they deny you access instead of $25 for a full month. (The $4 is worth it because the site has a lot of content that I couldn't find on other sites such as VideoBox and, when I had access, the download speeds were very satisfactory and every download I tried were completed without any difficulty.)

I really liked your site. It seems that your main competition is Videobox (of course you already know that). One thing that you have that they don't is gay content. Some gay porn is pretty hot, and there are alot of straight guys that watch it when it is available but would never go out of their way to join an exclusive gay site.

Since Videobox has a Gay Videobox site that you have to pay extra for, maybe Pornstar XS could take advantage of that and put a larger gay selection out there.

I'm sorry that you got offended by my review. I gave the site a 65 out of 100 which I think is a fair score, and the facts in my review ARE accurate.

You don't have to respond to reviews if you don't want, but as a webmaster you might want to deal with the issues that we reviewers/users/customers bring up. A first tip from me is to stop calling paying customers "juvenile".

I am not a videobox fanboy as you suggest, videobox.com is a good site, much better than yours, but I have started to see the flaws in their service too and have moved on from there; but my suggestion for anyone interested in PornstarXS is to first check out videobox.com as they are the undisputed marketleader in this segment and they get consistently great reviews on here.

I DO agree with you on the trial, everyone who doubt my review can check out the full 2 day trial which is pretty good value for money. Remember to cancel it before it exprires though cause the normal monthly rate is very expensive.

For the record: I don't hate your site, but I DID get very annoyed several times by all the technical issues and the bad customer service.

I don't hate Microsoft, the government, the police, kittens and rabbits either, they all have purposes on this earth; pornstarxs on the other hand....hmmm I think we all can live without you! :-)

Thanks for quick reply, I will send you a mail as your support hasn't replied yet. I now use a download accelerator due to all the cut offs, but I still get very low speeds, currently 40kb/s, but yesterday I saw faster speeds: around 200kb/s at some short moments, but average is more like 50kb/s.

I appreciate the reply. I would like for you to go look at my reviews of DVD sites and see that I have your site as #3 behind Videobox and Videoz, and ahead of dozens of DVD sites. I really like your site, but the price makes my returns less frequent. The 10 month plan sounds great, but because of my profession, I never know when I may end up on business for 3 months at a time, and that would be pointless to pay in advance for something I may not use.

Why would you say that I haven't been on your site lately? I can see that you all haven't added hardly any Eva Angelina, not much Daisy Marie, not much Jenaveve Jolie, just by looking at the preview. My complaint was that you all aren't adding enough of the content I would want to justify the higher price. I still will join again in the future. But it will be more like every 6 months, before I was joining every 3. You all can do the math there. 4 times per year at $15 = $60, 2 times per year at $25 = 50. I had the same complaint with Videoz, so I wasn't just picking on your site. I just can't see paying as much as I would for a exclusive site, for a site that has almost no exclusive content.

No offense meant. Last, and hopefully you will think about this. You say that you all work hard, so do I, and that is my hard earned money I pay for your site with. It is a two way street. I appreciate your hard work though, and wish you all the best.
