Something I've been curious about with gay sites - what do you think the prevalence is of straight guys doing this just for the money? I'm guessing that with more acceptance of gay people that this would be less than it was even a few years ago, but it seems to me that it could still be lucrative for some young guy looking to make some money. Any thoughts?
(Great review, BTW!)

There is a market out there for straight men doing gay porn (especially 'amateur' sites) so it doesn't bother me. I do like some of them as long as the models are hot.
Many prefer working with straight models as some of the gay ones can be a bit high maintenance. (I know, sounds stereotypical.)
As long as they produce good content, I don't mind one way or the other.
I hope they don't decide to go PC and say only gay models can do gay porn and only straight models can do straight porn.
There have been many straight porn actors who got their start in gay porn. Peter North comes to mind.
Thank you for the kind words about the review. I try my best to get the good and bad points across.

Similar things occur in straight porn too. A model recently joined the industry and was rocketing to the top and then quit suddenly. She admitted that she was lesbian and didn't like doing b/g scenes. That makes sense. It's probably common too that female stars who aren't into women do g/g scenes for the money.
I recall that Peter North did gay porn to start. I doubt he is the only guy who got his start that way.

What I think is more prevalent is straight men with a background in straight porn doing gay escort work. Working for years as a photographer I heard anecdotally of guys building a rep in porn then earning the majority of their income via escorting men.

Ten, twelve years ago, BC had some of the cutest twinks on earth. But with strong competition from Staxus, Helix etc they are now a B grade studio on the best days. From the beginning their lighting has been harsh. Like a bus station. No candle lit or outdoor scenes here. An old girlfriend mentioned several years ago that with the arrival of HD, several models disappeared whom she felt had the telltale signs of heroin addiction. Nice review again from you.

As I state in my review, the reason to join is for the many videos from the past. I do agree with you about the quality of models for the most part. They have found some cuties recently who have kept their pubes intact. The problem is they are now run by a Euro Porn type outfit who wants all their models to shave and act the same.
Staxus is a decent site, but it also has many of the same problems as does BC.
As for outdoor scenes, I never liked them as I noticed the flies and bees bothering the poor models. Imagine getting stung on a very sensitive area.
BTW, it also helps to join BC when they have a sale of only $14.95. I don't see paying $25 a month for a site that doesn't update like they used to.
BC is a B grade studio nowadays but it does have enough to merit a rating in the high 70s/low 80s for me. It will need to improve to go back to being a topnotch studio and site to receive a score higher than 90.

That makes a lot of sense. I've heard of women who do porn to increase their earnings as a stripper. Having porn as a background can probably earn both men and women a lot more money in other parts of the sex industry.
