After downloading as much as I can during my membership, I like to find the videos that I know I will never watch again (either because girl was unattractive, boring...etc) and delete them. i use a 1 TB external hard drive and have to make sure I have the memory for more videos. How I wish I can find a Blu-Ray burner to make copies, regular DVDs (about 4GBs) just doesn't cut it anymore

By accident some hundred gigabytes and parts of my collection voluntarily. Actually I should do those accidents more often as I rarely go back to my collection...

I often in the past deleted my whole collection and started over. For me the fun is in the hunt for new and interesting things. I like collecting, but it does get out of control.

The thrill is in the hunt. But it's surprisingly painful to delete, except items that are truly bad or worthless. I want to keep even the average stuff, even though I will probably never go back to view it again.
A very perceptive and interesting poll question.

Only lost small parts of it in the days when i used to burn my collection to cds and dvd and then found when i came to access it again there were disc read errors. Just not looking forward to the day when a 1TB external drive fails and looses me a whole load of goodies. I only collect pictures anyway so any videos i download are deleted usually after watching.

When Danni.com decided to renege on their deal to support their DRM override for members who canceled their membership, I deleted about 30 Gigs of stash because it was no longer viewable.
Other than that, I have two external hard drives; one the "gold drive" for the "good stuff" and the other, the "yellow drive" for "on probation stuff" awaiting a decision.
I review the probation drive periodically and will move the "good stuff" to the gold drive and delete the other stuff.
I guess that about 25% of my probation reviews are moved to the gold drive and 75% wind up being deleted after the review.

Over the years I have lost quite a bit :( In the early days through unreadable cd's, then unreadable dvd's. Then twice had the misfortune of cats knocking external hard drives off of tables. Now I store everything on internal drives in my media server adding new disks or replacing lower capacity ones when needed.

As others have already stated, the thrill about porn for me seems to be more about the hunt and finding new pictures and videos, than about watching them :D
I've deleted my collection two or three times, when I realized that I once when I started a new relationship and was worried that I might "get caught", and other times because I was just not watching those files any more, or because I needed the disk space (I don't have an external drive for porn and really I don't think I will ever do). I've also lost some files in disk failures and forced PC re-formatting...

In the old days I lost quite a bit through hard drive crashes. Nowadays everything is on externals but I have done quite a bit of weeding out during the past month or so because I am running out of space so I deleted quite a few older, low quality files. It was done with little regret because, as others pointed out as well, the thrill seems to be in the hunt for the new and interesting!

Best answer for me was the last one. Part of it was eaten by a virus that ate the whole hard drive. (Good thing I backed up and didn't lose much.) And I've also deleted really old stuff that I didn't want any more. (I think my first "porn" download was in 1997!)
And one hard drive failed and I had to reload everything from CDs. That was a while ago, closer to the Age of the World Wide Wait. But it still took about a month. Good thing that I didn't get any disc read errors! Just lucky!

I've deleted some by mistake and some I deleted intentionaly. What's worse is that I used to have a pretty good collection of VHS movies that aren't available anymore and I threw those away. Now I consider that a very stupid action.

My biggest accidental deletion was when installing Windows, it accidentally wrote some boot block on a non partitioned drive that was actually entirely encrypted. Few hundred gigs down the drain :|

Back in the days before portable storage was affordable I had my entire collection burned onto DVDs. There were hundreds of DVDs and storing those became a problem so I voluntarily culled my collection. Now that portable storage devices are cheap and plentiful, I have everything on those and those are backed up on larger drives. Never again will I delete porn.
Sort of on the same topic, back before digital porn i had a collection of VHS tapes that I also had to dispose of for storage reasons. I've since been able to locate most of my favorite old titles digitally.

REPLY TO #13 - rearadmiral :
This discussion made me go back and do a few random hits on my older files on externals (one is a 2Tb, two are 1.5Tb and one is 1.0 Tb. I also have some 200Gb's +/- with really old stuff) just to see what my reaction would be.
Interesting result was that I was seeing some really great stuff that I totally forgot about and deleted off maybe about a half dozen videos at 320 that were really hard to watch even though it was good content.

I've certainly deleted stuff that I thought would be "gold standard" keepers.
I've also accidentally deleted things that I regret; such is life
