A silly premise, but it wouldn't be a major problem.
I have enough archive material.
I would just carry on with my other non-porn related hobbies & obsessions!

As I already do (aside from death) the other things listed and I assume to polls means that something new should replace porn I would choose to start watching wet tee-shirt contests.

Strange that reading is not one of the choices!

Have to be sex! If I can't watch it I'll do it! Of course, porn isn't just a replacement for sex, it's a sort of supplement to it, at least for me.
However sometmes when I feel horny I use porn to help out - if it wasn't available I guess I'd have more sex instead.

An alternative to a Fahrenheit 451-situation?
Hard to imagine - but if the worse scenario should occur.....reading, for sure.

Other. Like Cap'n, I have a big enough archive collection anyway. If porn became illegal and my collection were confiscated, along with the collections of the other 40 million people in the UK who have one, then I would probably just spend a little more time on all the other things I already do.
But if I have to choose a new activity, it would maybe be to take some flying lessons as I guess it would provide a nice thrill and a bit of unpredictability.
Or I might set up my own studio and shoot some porn myself - photos of course - ready for the inevitable reinstatement of porn as the reason for the existence of the internet.

"Something else," which would, of course, be nothing else. After all, there is no substitute. But if I could pick sex, well, maybe ...
I guess I'd have to think about that first. ;)

I guess I would have more sex than I do now, although that would depend on my partner of course...

I'd go with reading, too. I think we need to start a book club. :)

Sports are good for removing ones thoughts from not so interesting reality. Same as porn.

idk Heather, I started with reading (and quickly followed by Playboy). Now I'm jaded and want to cut to the chase hence porn. I read some outrageous porn books in the service while in Germany, but some of those were so over the top with BDSM & murder that it was embarrassing.
I can see where women would find this niche agreeable and why books like 50 Shades of Gray so popular.
I do enjoy listening to books these days, the unabridged type - but most erotica I get impatient with.

I think Heather, Denner and I were thinking more of reading in general. There's nothing like a good book. But then, maybe, they were thinking of erotica, I shouldn't speak for them.

hah! on a porn forum, it's hard to keep the mind outta the smut. I still like audio books regardless. Even if there are no "love scenes" involved.

Ever since I got my tablet I've been going crazy downloading Kindle books to it. I didn't think I would ever get used to reading a book this way, after all what can replace that sensuous feeling of holding a new book in your hand .. but I did get used to it quickly. At the moment I have about 8 Alistair MacLean books lined up waiting to be read as well as about twenty Karl May books in German .. books that were my life as a teen ager and that are obtainable for free through Kindle. Audiobooks I cannot get used to. I have tried but my eyes process things better than my ears. When it comes to listening I have ADD! :-)

Ha - I suffer just the opposite - Reading puts me to sleep. Good friends gave me a Kindle for Christmas - a nice gift but I then re-gifted it to an avid reader who I knew would use it. Otherwise it would have sat on a shelf collecting dust. I didn't even open it up the box it was in.
Of course, late at night, listening to a book puts me to sleep too, but then it sort of is the purpose at that time of night.

Hi jberry - I wasn't necessarily referring to erotica when I mentioned reading. In truth, I've never been one for erotic fiction. The only naughty text I've ever enjoyed was "My Secret Garden," an old classic collection of women's fantasies. My older sister had a copy, and I swiped it when I was maybe 14 or 15. It was quite exciting ... introduced me to all sorts of new ideas. ;)

Heather, I wasn't speaking of pure erotica - like Anaïs Nin - rather where people writing a novel put in sexual scenes in a book. Does nothing for me except skip to the end of the chapter (cause it's usually used as a bridge to the next chapter).

Yes, but I found a solution to that - just edit the scene into a production you like and publish it for your own edification and enjoyment. I do it on a regular basis.
Which brings up an old memory. When I was around 13 or 14 I would take the bus from the suburbs to the Greyhound Bus Station and pick up porno type books. When I got them home I would end up cutting out just the good sections and pasting them onto a sheet of paper so I didn't have to waste time and energy thumbing though all that text. Funny how things don't seem to change.
