Emmy Nominations The votes are in! What are your thoughts on the Emmy Nominations? Do you think some shows got snubbed? I for one am happy that my favorite show Vikings got two nominations and I am also pleased with the noms for Stranger Things. http://variety.com/2017/tv/news/2017-emm...inations-1202494465/

This is my favorite joke from Family Guy about the Emmys: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wZ5R1TZwKK0 I did hope Doctor Who would have gotten a nomination for Peter Capaldi. Perhaps next time. Many deserving shows got nominations but there are plenty that got snubbed as well. I think we are at a point where there are almost too many quality shows out there with all the cable channels, and then Netflix and Amazon Prime. It was cool to see This Is Us slip in there as the only network show to get a best show nomination in years. Some of the shows I really like that didn't get a nomination: Unreal, Good Behavior, Bosch, Kingdom, The Americans (did get actor and writing at least), Masters of Sex, New Girl, The Affair, The Walking Dead, And more... although I am not sure which of those shows wouldn't have even been eligible based on season release dates, etc...

I'm just going to through this out. I think that the fact that cable and internet channels are able to show nudity, large amounts of gore, extreme violence and also use foul language have created such an unfair environment that it basically means that the four major TV networks have little if any chances of getting their due Emmy nomination. To make things even more unfair. Network TV unlike cable and internet channels need to have commercial breaks to pay for their programming and those breaks account for about 20 to 22 minutes of the normal 60 minutes window shows use to tell their stories. That means that the best a network can hope for is 40 minutes to tell a story that once upon a time they had at least 8 to 10 more minutes and that their current internet and cable counterpart can still use. Long live the Brown Coats.
