Models posing for video photo shoots; can anybody explain it's appeal?

I'm not talkin' about sites featuring picture sets or those befitting the class of Met Art, or similar ones that furnish genuine erotic appeal, but what I'm referring to are still shots of youthful models simply striking a variety of poses, generally with the assistance of a chatty cameraman.
The model isn’t really serious because she’s sniggling and making gestures throughout the whole shoot.
This might go over well on Comedy Central but in my judgment has no place in porn as we know it.
When verbal communication can be heard going on behind the camera, and/or the model is adlibbing with her own contrived witticisms, I don’t know about you but I’m getting about as much titillation as watching hens lay eggs.
So why don’t I just flip to another channel? Just skip over it?
Because in my mind its clutter and belongs in another medium. I’m tripping over the stuff all the time whilst surfing for something belonging to true, Porn-lovers voyeuristic tastes.
Gals flirting with the camera and matching barbs with people on the set, whose apparent interest in those paying to see her perform to their liking lying somewhere in la-la land, just don’t get it for me.

I certainly do agree with this - and well put, graymane.

Generally I avoid those video photo shoots at any site - and when I on rare occasions still download one - in a vain hope of improvements - I always get disappointed. And then delete it.

Apart from the normally foolish talks, I get the feeling like saying to the model: Hey, where's the attention - look over here, ect...

Oh, yes: Skip it. Or make sites for those - probably very few - who enjoy it.

BTW: Let get some more views here...

I'm not entirely sure I have come across this, but then I don't really 'do' video.

If they are 'casting' videos, then yes I can see the point provided there is some progession in the video.
If she is still fully or partially clothed at the end, then I agree it is pointless.

I have to agree with you all, I think it boils down to the way the new directors are bred. They just do not get many of the followers and will often go on and on, like somehow this is of interest.
Ok to be honest, in playboy ( for those of us that used to read them) I mean I may have read some articles .
But I bought the magazine to see and .
I really did not have a deep interest in knowing the person.
Sometimes knowing something I would rather not know, ruins that fantasy of the whole thing. Since 2007

When I was a member of ALSScan I came across quite a few instances where people made favorable comments in connection with that sort of video.

ALSScan seems to have more than anyone else I have ever subscribed to.

I hated the videos that were actually nothing but records of photo shoots, so I am with you, graymane, but surprisingly there are quite a few who find those "behind the scenes of a shoot" videos great. To me they destroy the mood. Chacun a son gout, I guess. Edited on Jan 04, 2012, 10:48am

'Behind the Scenes.' ??

Those videos & photosets are of very little interest to me.

When you have seen how it works once, from a documentary point of view, it may be of academic interest. After that, it quickly becomes tiresome.
To me it comes over as a lazy way to pad content & to count material like that as an update is an outright con!

Once you have seen one.......

I hate 'em!

I always feel robbed & a little pissed when the site puts up a photo-video shoot or behind the scenes clip. Of the sites I've been a subscriber of ALS has to be the worst at this ploy to fill their scene commitment. 21st Sextury is also doing it with their BTS clips. At least most days, they will put up regular scenes as well. I don't mind video interviews, though.

While I can't answer graymane's question since I have no idea what the appeal of these videos is, but I have to take a contrary position to the people who posted earlier. I can't explain it, but I LOVE these kinds of shoots. I like some BTS, but I put the kinds of videos that graymane is talking about in a different class. One of the reasons I always enjoy ALS Scan is for the interaction between the models and the crew as they're being filmed and photographed.

Yes, I'm the same. I like interviews, I even liked ALS auditions but as I said I hated the photo-video shoots.

I've also felt robbed by sites that do this. If they'd simply label such videos as "BTS," then I wouldn't have anything to gripe about.

I don't know which is worse, general silence but lots of camera flashing, which I at least used to see in hardcore videos at Earl Miller, or lots of talking.

A long time ago, I found a bunch of videos at ATK Galleria with models like Brandy Smith in which the director was talking throughout a hardcore shoot. He'd say things like "Stop. Turn a bit to the right. Keep fucking ..."

It does give you an idea of what the shoots are really like, but as I said, they should always be labeled clearly so that the paying user doesn't feel cheated.

Kind of makes one develop a greater fondness for the photoshoots that result. I wanted something new, so I left England for New England. Edited on Jan 04, 2012, 02:35pm

When the likes of Capn, Messmer, cybertoad, RearAdmiral, and the welcome growl of our venerable drooler responds to ones' message, then the writer knows he's struck oil.
Thanks guys.
And especially a hardy salute to t9chrome for jumping in here.
I'd love to see more of his thoughts conveyed here in our forum.
