Anyone watching VideoBox on their TV? I just got a new TV with wifi and am able to subscribe to Netflix and some Yahoo services but cannot figure out how to create a connection to VideoBox. They have instructions re. Roku boxes but don't mention anything about the new TVs that have Internet capacity built in. Does anyone here look at VB material on their TVs without a special box or game system? And how do you do that?

If your TV has a built in browser that can handle flash you could probably browse over to the site and watch it that way. Otherwise you'll have to be able to download Video Box's app onto the TV, and I'm not sure that is possible, depends on the particular TV model probably. Gotta crack open the dreaded manual for the absolute answer to that question me thinks. As Cybertoad said, using an HDMI out on your video card is a very easy way to do it. Also, some of the Roku style boxes are super cheap now, so you could go that route anyway. "I'm not a number, I'm a free man!" Second Grand Order Poobah in the Loyal Order of the Water Buffalo

Darn, I knew someone would bring up that dreaded "read the manual" business. Don't you know that real men don't read manuals! They go to Porn User sites and hope their friends will give them a hint as to how to do it. Strange thing, my new TV shows a browser under Internet but when I click on it I get Yahoo apps and no way that I can see to get anywhere else on the web. There might be a way but I'll have to discover it the hard way, I guess. See above: "real men don't use manuals." One neat thing I have already discovered is that I can play all my HD movies through a memory stick (wmv a possible exception?). Super, since I download mostly mp4! My next purchase will be a stick with tons of memory and then ta heck with VB, Mister, I can always play my favorite HD scenes this way!

Wish I could, CT, but I don't have a video card in my PC. I think I'll go the way of the memory stick .. if I get one that is big enough I should be able to get quite a few 1920x1080p mp4 videos on it. They should look great on the TV.

Haha, yeah I also anticipated that reaction, but it sort of had to be said - or maybe not since everybody is accurately anticipating everyone else's reactions?
That finally seems to be getting more and more common! I can't tell you how many TVs and Blu-Ray players I've run across with the USB input that can only play photos from the stick - talk about useless! "I'm not a number, I'm a free man!" My last TV was limited like that but I happened to luck into a real good deal on one of those new super TVs with WIFI capacity and the works. It astonished me last night when it actually asked me if I wanted an upgrade to my TV!! And the HD 1080p (through the memory stick) was gorgeous. For some reason the 720p HDs are shown in a smaller picture, which is only logical, I suppose, but I would like to discover a way to expand that to full screen. Maybe there IS a way?? Usually you can tell the TV to adjust the content to fit the screen with a Zoom, Stretch, Zoom-crop, et cetera. Often they have a Picture Size button, frequently shortened to P.Size, or sometimes it will be within the Aspect Ratio selection. At any rate, your remote control should have a specific button to address this issue. "I'm not a number, I'm a free man!" Second Grand Order Poobah in the Loyal Order of the Water Buffalo

My TV has a web browser in it that plays flash movies quite efficiently. I haven't tried watching porn but guess I'll have to and follow up. Reality Kings is a likely first candidate. Believe it or not, it has a privacy mode like a desktop web browser, so you may opt for not having your porn browser history remembered. The main drawback is input. Entering an URL has to be done through an on-screen keyboard; you have to move around with the direction buttons on your remote and click the enter button on your remote for each and every letter until the url is complete. My kingdom for a keyboard (or 150 USD for a Samsung approved one last time I checked: not any USB keyboard works). My advice: bookmark the site immediately or you'll just give up entering it all again. If you have to click something on the screen, it's maddening. There are two cursor modes: one where you hop from link to link using the direction buttons. But, when you have to access the video controls (play, pause, etc), the hopping mode doesn't work and you have to resort to a free cursor one where you move an on-screen cursor around with the direction buttons. Getting to place the cursor on top of the always small play/pause icon is quite a test to your patience to say the least. I'm not sure how it will work with password prompts. I'm curious to see it. Or not. I kind of fear it. Oh man, trying to enter the password is gonna feel like an hour long unrequested BSDM session.

Afraid not, Toadsith. I do have that button and kept pressing it frantically but got the answer that it didn't work if my TV was in that particular mode. I assume it referred to running a movie through a USB port. When I watch regular TV the button works fine.

Yes, that moving around with cursor is a nuisance. But actually with my TV the browser is simply for Sony content and I see nothing that allows me to get out of it. BTW, my TV will not play wmv files, I was bitterly disappointed because all of my movies from Reality Kings (or was it Brazzers or Bang Bros?) were in that format only .... mp4 and the rest work fine.

Odd, I guess it can't upconvert media files played off the USB. C'est la vie. "I'm not a number, I'm a free man!" Second Grand Order Poobah in the Loyal Order of the Water Buffalo

In case anyone's interested, I ended up trying Reality Kings on my TV and couldn't even get the login prompt. Guess my Samsung Smart TV web browser doesn't support showing the usual login/password prompt because clicking the "members login" button always takes me immediately to the login error screen and I see no prompt. Maybe the mobile site will work because. I'm afraid, though, the video quality won't be HD on the mobile site. Full of sorrow, I moved on to BangBros Network because I remembered you don't login through a prompt on their regular site. Good news is it was fairly quick to enter login and password, get to the latest updates using my remote and start playing videos in HD. Not sure what the High Definition streaming version resolution is but it was the best looking porn video I've ever seen when I set it to full screen (some surgically precise cursor movements were needed). Not only that but the pause/play buttons on my remote do work without issues! So, to sum it up, if your favorite site doesn't have a login prompt, give it a try. Right now, it's very cumbersome to move around with the cursor but, if you stick to the "links" mode, it's quite fast to move around. Your patience will most likely be rewarded. I can connect to VideoBox using my ROKU device. VideoBox offers a short set of instructions on how to set it up. Maybe the instructions can be helpful for your TV. A true neck-lover.
