Have you seen the Porn Anti-Pracy ad? Yeah, I know that it is boring, but the adult industry has produced a short PSA on the veils of piracy. It's interesting to see some stars in their "natural" state. And the message is important too. I hope that something happens soon because I'm getting tired of seeing how many new tube sites keep appearing. The problem is so bad that to find any legal content by Googling a performer's name or tittle of a movie is next to impossible because the serarch brings up so many tube sites that you get tired of sorting through them all. Try a little experiment. Pick your favorite star and Google her name. Count how many tube sites you get out of 3 pages? I Googled "Faye Reagan" and I got 10 hits for free content. I Googled "Faye Reagan sex" and I got 22 hits for fre content. Long live the Brown Coats. | |

I am afraid you're right, pat. It's even worse if you are looking up a model and a video, then you are truly inundated with 'tube results. I have watched my fair share of videos on 'tube sites but the quality just cannot compare to what you pay for, plus it's all streaming video which makes me quite  to say the least. Then you have ads, comments, extra watermarks...ooo, at this point I have to step away and calm down before I throw my monitor out the window.And now I have to do the same just thinking about it... I admit that guy is kinda funny and I admire his enthusiasm--though it may be more for getting something for nothing rather than for the porn itself--but he's also a hypocrite: "I'm not trying to put the porn boys out of business, okay?" and then later says "I just ain't buyin' the shit."  What?! Yes you are! If you're not paying for it, and neither are the people who provide it freely on a 'tube site, then you're not giving them any business, asshole! Maybe you're not lobbying with the religious right to outlaw porn, nor are you starting a company of your own to compete with them, but you're not fucking helping by watching it for free! Oh, and he says at about 0:40 that "There is no such thing as good porn." Either this guy has no standards or he just hasn't seen very much porn. Oh, I really hate this guy now.  I know I bitch and whine and cry a lot about restrictions on porn and censorship and the enemies of everything fun but I at least feel I'm helping somewhat by paying for my fix--I mean entertainment! Entertainment!--and supporting the people who actually produce the stuff that makes life suck a little bit less. These free 'tube sites are just going to hurt the industry and make it implode from all the watch-but-don't-pay demand. It's the old attitude from the early years of the Internet: "If it's on the net I shouldn't have to pay for it." This helped, in a way, to eliminate the cost for web browsers etc., but in the meantime a whole industry has come to depend for their revenue on quality pay sites and to rob the producers and performers of the fruits of their labor is despicable. And then to make the excuse that it is not really stealing is hypocritical to the extreme! I do not use one single 'tube site for this reason. | |

They make money off of the advertisements. You won't believe how many people come to those sites. And how much the websites make per unique hit. I don't know. I've never really liked those "tube-sites". I'm a fan of quality. I also like to back my stuff up once in a while. This you can't do with those sites. Always thought most of those clips were uploaded by the websites themselves as a sort of promotion/advertisement anyway. Edited on May 18, 2010, 08:57am | |

You can't blame them for trying with this ad, I suppose, but I doubt it will make any difference. Personally, I never spend much time looking for free stuff anyway. Cap'n. I'm sure that a lot of people are like that "free porn" advocate, but the tube sites do funnel many people toward pay sites. Wicked Pictures, for instance, advertises on at least one of the tube sites along with many other paysites. Many paysites also have a presence on the more mainstream video sites like YouTube. What bothers me most is when the free sites don't give credit, so that if you come across a sample you like want to find the legit stuff, you don't have a clue where to find it. For instance, I first joined MET after finding some Most Erotic Teens pics on Usenet back when that was the primary channel for file-sharing. I've spent several hundred dollars there since. I've joined lots of other sites and bought VHS tapes and DVDs after discovering content in a similar way. Anyway, I'm sure that PSA will shake free a few bucks and help the industry, even if it won't convince most people. And Charlie Laine is too cute for words. | |
