Other review sites I hope this is not TOO politically incorrect. I was curious if there are other sites similar to this. I've been unable to find any. I think this is a great site; I was just looking for some variety. | |

I don't know what the policy is regarding us talking about other review site so I'm not going to post any links. Mind you I wouldn't have offered any links anyway because I truly believe that there are no longer any sites similar to TBP/PU. There were a couple of very good and honest review sites when I first started surfing the net but I believe that they are all gone now. If you want to check out a few other review sites than simply take a look at TBP's main page as they show other review sites on it. Long live the Brown Coats. | |

The thought never crossed my mind that such a question might be against site policy. If it is, I apologize. My rationale was simply the more info and opinions the better, sort of analogous to one porn site isn't gonna satisfy any or most of us. | |

Dealing with review sites is a part of my job; there are plenty of other review sites, but none come to mind as being quite like pornusers.com (active user-driven reviews). If you were looking for substitutes to 'thebestporn.com', there's a lot of comparable competition - but still, none that I know of are quite as prominent, comprehensive, well curated, impartial, spam-free, and easy to use (all at once). TBP is probably the best review site out there, and has a very good rep for this reason. Pornusers isn't for everyone (for instance, the reviews are by their nature very subjective), but it offers something fairy unique: a place for porn enthusiasts to share opinions openly, to build a community even, and sometimes even engage the paysites themselves to offer feedback and resolve disputes in the open air. | |

I used to visit several sites but pretty much have given that up for here. I found that most review sites simply pump up the scores (everything is above average ... just like me) and are plastered with links. Besides you don't get to interact much beyond the noobs posting obnoxious comments (like this one). At this point, I know what I like and what I'm willing to pay for and if there is something new and good on the horizon it will appear here or at TBP so I don't worry about it. | |

I tend to agree with all the comments. The one thing that's not on here leaves a big hole for me though and leaves me wondering if I'm missing out on something. And that is sites that are in a foreign language. I really don't understand the policy that prohibits listing of those sites, but I suppose they have good reason. I don't know if I'm missing out on anything as a result, but I wish I could see some honest reviews on such sites. I am not a fan of most US or western european sites and wish I could get a complete picture of what is out there. Other than that, this site serves my needs and the people here are top notch. | |

 I seem to recall you asked about that very thing back in Feb of this year. I understand that you don't especially like that answer. However, that is still our answer. Let me try to explain it a little better in hopes that you'll better understand it from our perspective. We need the ability to have *any* of our staff spot check any site we list. There are certain kinds of adult content that we don't care to be associated with. If we can't spot check the site, we can't confirm they don't carry any of that type of content. For example, I am told that donkey shows are readily available in parts of Mexico. But we wouldn't list a site with it. But if we can't check it, we wouldn't know what they carry. We need the ability to communicate with the webmaster / site owner for any site we list. We need the ability to gather site facts. We need to be able to use the site if our reviewers are going to post reviews. As it happens, we do have staffers that know different languages. One of our reviewers currently lives in France and she speaks fluent French. As does at least one other staffer. Several of our staff speak Spanish. I myself am fluent in profanity.  But all that is neither here nor there. We would still be very limited in what languages (other than English) we could work with. Even then it would require those specific staffers to work exclusively with that language site. Not to mention allowing (and monitoring) users to post reviews in whatever language they happened to prefer. That last one alone is enough to give me nightmares. Yes, in an ideal world, with unlimited resources, that might be a nice addition to TBP/PU. However ... As of right now, we list 13,961 sites. That's almost 14k sites that we maintain listings for, spot check and to the best of our ability, provide site facts for and communicate with webmasters about. Now, of those, for various reasons, TBP has reviews for only 4,146 of them. That is more than enough sites in English, or with full English translations, to keep our hands quite full. You say ...
To which I reply, I'm sure you are to some extent. I can only encourage you to go out and scour the search engines and the web in general and find those sites that you feel would make your life better. I don't personally know of any review sites that cover non-English sites. But then, I don't personally know of any review site(s), English or otherwise, that provide the depth of information and honest, straight-forward information that we (TBP/PU) provide. But admittedly, I'm biased.  But the bottom line is this ... for now, providing info or listings or reviews or even forum discussions of non-English sites is beyond the scope of services we are currently able (or willing) to provide. I hope that helps you better understand this from our point of view, even if you don't agree with our decision. As always, we will continue to work our asses off to earn your patronage. Entiendo, haha. I understand now. I forgot that I asked the same question shortly after I joined. Your answer apparently never sunk in until now. I guess I'm pretty choosy about which sites I like and, although there are tons of sites reviewed and discussed here, I'm now struggling to find something that meets my likes. This place is responsible for introducing me to a number of porn sites that I enjoy immensely. I'm sure there are sites yet undiscovered by me that are reviewed here, but I haven't found one lately. That was the reason I asked about other review sites, particularly foreign films. I wonder how many others are like me in their aversion to most US/European sites, "most" being the operative word. In conclusion, thanks to all for making this site possible and my comments were in no way meant to denigrate the site. On the contrary. | |

There is nothing wrong with your rationale and in a perfect world looking at different reviews sites would give you a better understanding of what is available on the net but this is not a perfect world. It has taken me many years of exploring to discover that there are very few decent review sites. Some review sites actually do a decent job but these are quite rare. Most are a marketing tool for the various porn sites. Long live the Brown Coats. | |

I have one more question about this. The other day I was looking for information on dorcelclub but couldn't find anything here. Of course it's a French site, but theres an option to view it in English. Cum Louder, on the other hand, is listed, even though it's a Spanish site with an English translation. Is dorcelclub not listed because it's French, is there some other reason, or did nobody ask for it yet? | |

This one has come up before, a number of times actually, in the Sites Not Listed On "The Best Porn" thread. You can see my replies to each time at: - Post #237 - Post #368 * - Post #270 * - Post #646 * - Post #674 The starred ones (*) are the ones key to your question. The rule is, a site needs to have a full English translation to be listed. In the case of the specific site you mentioned ... it will not be listed / re-listed until/unless the site owner contacts us directly and can give assurances we won't see the same problems we've seen before with a Dorcel site. In fairness, in one of those discussions a user reported he signed up and canceled w/out issue. Its just, at this stage, we need confirmation from the site owner that those practices won't start back up. You probably won't find it because I'm pretty sure that porn is illegal in China. That's not to say that Chinese people don't watch porn but I don't think they make any and they certainly don't advertise it. The State has a dim view of porn in general in China. Long live the Brown Coats. | |
