I like to keep my file names neat and regularly use a free app called Bulk Rename Utility. Available here: www.bulkrenameutility.co.uk I also use a free duplicate file finder called Clonespy from www.clonespy.com I stopped installing the dozen or so codecs I used to mess with and now use VLC Media Player almost exclusively. www.videolan.org/vlc Colorcop is a free color picking tool to grab the exact shade of any pixel on your screen. Very useful for things like matching the shade of a background on a website, like I did for my avatar here. http://colorcop.net/ I use Audacity to edit audio files and to grab soundbites from audio and video tracks. Also free from http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ ImageDupeless finds duplicate pictures, even if they're different file sizes and dimensions. There's a limited function free version - the paid version allows more options and the ability to scan directories of virtually unlimited size. http://www.imagedupeless.com/en/index.html The name is a little misleading because it isn't limited to just CD's - CDRom List Creator will make a text file list of any directory on your computer. Free at http://www.leeos.com/cdrom_list_creator.html AM Deadlink scans your Internet favorites for duplicates and links that no longer work. http://www.aignes.com/deadlink.htm My all-time favorite video editor I've mentioned on here before - Tmpgenc 4.0 Xpress. Unfortunately, it's not free, although there is a free trial. http://tmpgenc.pegasys-inc.com/en/product/te4xp.html Sarcasm is a body's natural defense against stupidity.

Some cool tools RB. Does anyone have any software to search and maintain their library? I set up a folder structure in Windows and I use the WMP library to search, sort and add meta data. It's OK but I'd like something more robust.
