Pininterest for Porn In case any of you social media media nubes haven't heard, the website Pininterest.com is the hot new site. It's basically a bulletin board where you can "mark" any image on the web and have it appear on your personal bulletin board. Apparently, women really dig this site because it's already one of the top new social media sites for them, mostly dealing with recipes and fashion. Men, as usual, are the late comers to Pininterest. Unless I'm into building a mullet identification chart or interested in building a virtual baseball card collection I can't see why I'd want a bulletin board. Until now that is. It didn't take the porn people long to figure out that the same thing could be done for porn. Yup, there are now a bunch of apps that let you build a personal porn bulletin board to extoll your lust for the latest hottie so the rest of the world can admire your good taste (for the article and links go here). Personally, I don't see the interest. I don't share my porn interests with others now, and if adding to my collection is my goal then wasting time showing the rest of the world any fetish I have in Ukrainian Tramp Stamps (I don't) just seems like another time waster. They say that a picture is worth a thousand words (but then what is a GIF worth?) but I don't see the appeal in looking at whatever all the other pervs think is hot and nasty. Of course, these web sites will be great for future reading when some politico gets busted for his porn interests and his pin page gets posted for the world to see. I guess we all like voyeurism in that sense. | |

You're slightly missing the point, I think. The point isn't necessarily to share your porn interests with the rest of the world (the ability is there, if that's what you want to do). It's more along the lines of looking at what other people are doing. Social media in general isn't so much about sharing yourself (if that's all you wanted to do, you'd create a blog and be done with it), it's about forming a community with other people and sharing things among that community (like, you know, what we do on this forum). As far as sharing my porn habits, while I wouldn't necessarily use a porn Pinterest to share my porn habits, I might take a looked at their most pinned list to try to find some new porn to enjoy, or maybe even find someone with tastes similar to mine and see if they've pinned something that maybe I hadn't seen before. | |

The right URL is http://www.pinterest.com. As the article suggests, it looks like the porn version is a mere excuse to share pirated content. As for pinterest, I believe they now let website owners tag their pages saying they don't want to allow sharing; I doubt that is possible for the porn versions. | |
