Spammed I'm not accusing anyone but I am curious. Has anyone experienced email spamming after buying a femjoy membership? An old email account that I still use has been hit badly by spam. I suspect femjoy because the spamming started almost immediately after I paid for a femjoy membership. I like the site but I'm concerned I may have been compromised.  | |

I've never been a member of femjoy and I get tons of spams cvrap on a daily basis. The reality is that once you give your information to any site then there's a good chance that you will start to get spam emails. Long live the Brown Coats. | |

Spam comes from just about anywhere. I had to laugh when my mother and I were talking about her computer one day. She's the queen of clicking on anything and everything. When I'm not cleaning some virus off her computer, I'm constantly having to go in and clean out her cookies and set permissions for cookies on Firefox. The reason I had to laugh? This is a (near) quote from Mom: "Who is sending me penis enlargement emails? And I think it's disgusting that I keep getting some from that F-Book all the time. That's just nasty". I think it's safe to say that if Mom doesn't like the word fuck, she's not surfing for free porn. I'm just as sure that she's never signed up at FemJoy. All that to say, I doubt FemJoy sold your email to a list. Sarcasm is a body's natural defense against stupidity. | |

One thing I keep forgetting to do... some email providers let you have multiple aliases for your address. Eg gmail lets you have yourname+anythingyoulike@gmail.com as per: http://support.google.com/mail/bin/answe...=en&answer=12096 So, eg, when signing up to a site you can give the email address: yourname+dodgysite.com@gmail.com Emails to the address will be delivered as if they were just sent to yourname@gmail.com - but if you receive spam, checking the address they used will help you figure out how they got it - and more easily block it if required. | |
