This was the last draw.....not straw Thanks again to our hosts at TBP and PU for a lot of fun when getting "a draw". I used all mine to buy books/novels from amazon.com/uk in the past....will really miss that: buying books for free. It's been great.... And congrats to Capn, slutty and RB for getting the final draws - you all deserve it....and lets keep rocking here "I don't drink anymore - I freeze it, and eat it like a popcicle"

Agreed Denner. I knew most of the regular oldies would remain faithful. For the survival of this place it remains to be seen how the lack of raffle tickets will affect the number and quality of reviews, and active new members. There will always be a latest review on the front page, but how long it stays there and how good it is, will determine the income TBP/PU receives from subscription links.

It would take a Crystal ball to know for sure. I suspect that PU saw a year or so ago the dynamics begin to change somewhat. I ran a website I closed a few years ago when the economy went flat. I think it was smart to end the Raffle. That said there are people that will over the next month trickle in to see the site and not see the raffle and some may leave. Some may not come back as well. The key is going to be to keep the new blood on the site. I am sure PU/TBP has plans for the site. However to be honest the longer it takes to present a new avenue, each day allows others to come and leave and maybe not return. There are what about 20-25 very regulars that alone will not support the site. I noticed the forum kinda go quieter the last month. I guess my logistic mind sense tell me that momentum lost is not a good thing. I am going to use the SanFransisco 49ers football team as an example. I was a fan since the 70's. The 80's were the decade of the 49ers. The 90's brought and end to the era and by the 2000's many were 49ers who? Last two years saw a rebirth and many new fans as they made the play off won division and went to the Superbowl. I was with them through the good and bad, but fan base varied at times by the wins. I know I am the odd duck at times around here, so may be way off base. But I do worry that time lost may be time not recovered in this economy. Since 2007

I feel honoured to be the last winner. It was always a nice bonus to win, but not really the main reason for being around. That said it was a rare, perhaps unique feature. It was a good angle. I am interested to know what it will be replaced with, if anything. Cap'n. Admiral of the PU Hindenburg. 2009 PU Award Hilarious Post of the Year 2010 PU Award ( I would have preferred it to be Helpful Post of the Year for Guys who Hate 'Retail Therapy' ) :0/ Sanity is in the eye of the Beholder!

And I am happy that the last raffle was won by veterans of this site who have become friends over the years. A fitting ending! And thank you, TBP, for quite a few, very much appreciated, wins. I followed Denner's example and bought books for my wife at Amazon.ca with my winnings. Since I am not rich this was a big deal. But, as Khan knows, the raffle was never the reason why I came here. This is a classy site, with classy users and I enjoy the companionship.

My reasons for joining TBP/PU were that the reviews (and reviewers) seemed to be honest. These two sites have caused me to spend a lot of money over the past six years (in return for some excellent porn though) but they've also saved me money and grief. I think the problem with stopping the raffle is that some may have contributed here just for that. I certainly appreciated my winnings, and I'll continue to be a regular contributor like most of the old regulars. We need to make sure that new and newer members feel welcome here. I'm looking forward to the next chapter.

I totally agree, I took it upon myself many times back in the early 2000 maxing out CC for poor porn. I stumbled into see PU and joined one of the reviews of a site I never heard off,the review helped me decided and was hooked on the site. Since 2007

I don't do many reviews, mainly because I purchase so few subscriptions.... all from which I've submitted reviews. I've won $50 from the raffles since I've been a member. I haven't used it nor do I intend to. Not because I'm so rich or any other reason. Except...... To me it's a privilege to summit a review. My reward comes in the form of replies, and the knowledge it may influence an otherwise wrong decision a potential subscriber might be making. It's also a great feeling knowing your review helps to keep webmasters on their toes. The sheer fact your review was heavily numbered by a grateful readership should certainly bring some notable degree of accomplishment ...... amplified by your work put on permanent display in PU's archives. Bottom line ...... I see this as a smart, critical, and overdue business move. Moves that I hope will create an understanding shared by one and all.
