Looking for Interviewees I'm a freelance radio producer and I'm doing a project on porn. I’m looking to talk to anyone who watches porn--occasionally or frequently. I know a lot of journalists have done stories on the porn industry, but as someone who grew up with the internet, I am interested in people’s experience as users. I have already produced one piece for the series (https://soundcloud.com/theconstructpodca...watch-porn-interview). I'm looking to do additional installments. I realize that talking to a stranger about this is frightening, but I promise I am not coming at this with judgement. I understand if you’d like to share your story but need to remain anonymous. I'd say you'd get a wealth of information by simply back-tracking through the forum archive. There isn't much that ain't been said back there about the stuff you're seemingly looking for. But the beauty lies being free to post and stream data from within the countless exchange at play between many tenaciously opinionated members. (I'd even go out on a limb by a hefty distance covering every subject in the form of an actual interview. If you wanna just think about it, using that avenue to get information for your interview simply takes pick and choosing, Bottom line says that the interview is already made. | |

What specifically are you looking for? What is the angle. Are you pro porn? Are you anti porn? What light will you put the interviewee in? Are you looking for a religious angle? I might be willing to do a interview for you. Not only am I experienced with porn, I was addicted to it once and I once got paid for reviewing it on Adultdvdempire. Like I said I might be willing based upon your response. Golly, Blindmandarn, looks like you've got lucky. To be honest, at first the only way I figured anybody here at PU would volunteer to go on radio with you might have to include a tempting perk of some kind ......an example might be something like offering to give whomever came forward, Ummmm .... well, like getting him a spot to show off any talent he might possess on the popular TV show "Star Search." Not only did you get somebody from Pu to be willing to go along with your quest ......you managed to get a newbie who's proven himself quite an asset around here . I'd go so far to say one (in my judgment) who's won the title of being (among other things) our current Forum/reviewer Crème de la Crème member. All this has got me so excited I think (should I be in better health) to jump right in with brethren Pyrenees. Anyway, good luck with this project. PS ..... I know writers don't like questionable critiques' ......but having tuned in on the link you provided .....I have to say the interview could bear a tad improvement | |

I'm in a helping mood tonight. Alright blindmandarin, here's some problems with what you've posted so far. You say it can be anonymous. Then you say in reply to Graymane, "the hard part is getting people to go on tape." Which leaves us who are ignorant (me) to modern radio wondering if you're asking for an in-person interview or if it would be something recorded across the internet? It's an assumption on my part that it would be across the internet, but then again, nothing on the internet is anonymous. Which then says if it's in-person, it's not anonymous since you'll be there. My biggest problem there is simple: You said, "I realize that talking to a stranger about porn is frightening, but I promise I am not coming at this with judgment." Add the anonymous part and in my mind, you've already stereotyped us porn users as reclusive and paranoid. You've not presented your intentions, stance or angle for these interviews. You have made at least me assume it's from a negative angle. In theory, all of the members here are strangers. We've posted combined thousands of reviews, replies, comments about porn. Why would you think we would be frightened? Passing judgment, at least to me, is silly. I need you to at least understand where I'm coming from. Your original post is filled with niceties and attempts to lower our guards. Maybe if you jumped into one of the other discussions as a member it would help? There's another problem: You may not know this, but there's an entire alternative porn community that gets off on people talking about their sexual interests, their enjoyment of sex and porn. The last advice I would give is to know and respect those who you are asking to help you. There's members here who are probably twice your age, with years, decades of wisdom you've not yet attained in life. They'll know when you're using niceties. And they'll look at your profile here and see that you've not posted about anything else except this question. No reviews. No comments. That in and of itself will make them assume you're not for porn. When you add the frightening, anonymous and judgment parts, their assumption becomes even stronger. Tell me how you're going about doing these interviews and I'll give you one. You can contact me through my profile here, just put, "Interview" in the subject. I won't do one where I talk for minutes without you asking questions. That's what I mostly took from the soundcloud link. It sounded more like a therapy session than an interview. I don't need to be anonymous either. My first time I jacked off, I thought I'd invented it.
