Republican Party declares porn 'public health crisis' Just so there is no mistake here is the link: http://www.cnn.com/2016/07/11/politics/gop-platform-republican-convention-internet-pornography/ I would think the platform committee would know most of their members surf and watch porn. This seems to be out of the Reagan Era (Remember the Meese Report on Pornography?) Some of the wording: "The internet must not become a safe haven for predators," the provision states. "Pornography, with its harmful effects, especially on children, has become a public health crisis that is destroying the life of millions. We encourage states to continue to fight this public menace and pledge our commitment to children's safety and well-being. We applaud the social networking sites that bar sex offenders from participation. We urge energetic prosecution of child pornography which closely linked to human trafficking." All for the safety of children. How about taking computers out of kid's bedrooms? I didn't even have a TV set in my bedroom growing up! "Dogs think people are Gods. Lets fear something else. The Republicans can always find more to fear about. That is the state they want people to be in. Live in fear. How can they claim they are protecting you if they don't put you in fear of something. Mexicans crossing the boarder are rapists. All Muslims should be feared. I'm sure there is more. It's more election-year wedge issue bullshit. Perhaps they're hypocrites because they view porn, too, but they're certainly hypocrites with their double-talk about government being the problem ... except when they decide that it's not because they want to get some law passed that may please the moral minority and get them a little uptick in votes. And if Democrats contest it, they can wag their moralizing fingers at them in public. Never mind the public health crisis that's been brought on by overpriced prescription medications and health insurance. You won't see the Republicans doing anything about that, and you can probably guess why. Talk about moral. I wanted something new, so I left England for New England. It is a bunch of hypocritical bullshit on both sides of the aisle. Dems do the same thing with other 'issues' and then do nothing about it. As for the porn thing, it is funny because Trump wants the conservatives to think he's one of them when he doesn't care one bit about them. I also love it when they say they are against child exploitation. Ever hear a politician say he's for it? Same with crime, drug addiction etc, etc. No politician has yet come out for those.
