Vista Freeze 2010 Another one for our expert, Badandy, I guess. The 1st of January 2010 my Windows Vista froze. After 1-2 minutes the damn pc/Windows Vista stopped working - even if it's quite new - a new pc installed November 2009. If you ever tried hotlines, you know how funny that can be - waiting for hours...gave up. Had to reinstall everything - and that takes more than a whole day to find your old stuff again - even with several external drives. So: Did this special decade/year-change have any influence on Windows Vista? "I don't drink anymore - I freeze it, and eat it like a popcicle"

Mine didn't freeze but it acted all clunky. I would right click on a page to bring up my context menu, the box would come up, but nothing else, no words. Then Firefox would give me the dreaded, "Not Responding" message and right as I would go to close it, it would start responding again. I've had nothing but good experiences with Vista so far, had it since January 2008 and it runs fast for me, much faster than my XP machines did. Who knows what Bill Gates was up to. He was probably drawing from all of our Windows machines to run some high-tech gadgetry of his! My first time I jacked off, I thought I'd invented it. I looked down at my sloppy handful of junk and thought, This is going to make me rich. - Chuck Palahniuk

Same type of issues. Explorer freezes I had to run Norton Reg. Cleaner several times. Plus all the jpeg zip pics now have a huge green check on them which is very annoying. I was one of the first to try Vista and overall it seems fine but there are way too many bugs and MS I think has given up trying to improve. Will

Strange - first time with Vista for this user, too - but generally satisfied. It runs faster and smoother than my old XP. BUT: Guess exotics has a point: How can this happen, if not the ol' Bill Gates is involved. Did the same as williamj with the Norton - but it could not help. Tried those hotlines, as mentioned, but nothing. Still the worse part is to reinstall all your stuff - and I've done that several times over the years - and never get used to it - it's boring, aggravaiting and generally NOT fun....
