More software - video editing One thing I'm really looking for now is good software to edit movie/videoclips (easy). I've downloaded too much video-stuff with too large file-sizes and it fills my hd and the extern hd to a bad extend. Do not want to loose the stuff, but want to cut out some and save the good parts - like typical: You download a 800 Mb file where there is a fine scene in the middle which I'd like to save og get rid of the rest. Which program/software is the easiest to learn to use? Thanks....I'm a total novice here... "I don't drink anymore - I freeze it, and eat it like a popcicle"

Hi Denner We use Magix Movie Edit Pro 11 to edit our footage. I'm not sure what the latest version is. We find it works well and the cost was reasonable too. Riffy www.rockchicksandbikerbabes.co.uk

For basic "cutting out the best bits" types of job I have always used VirtualDub. Its free and does its job rather well. In other news, I guess we should all watch what we write in the forums now. With Cybertoad about, those silly comments you made over 2 years ago may come back to haunt you The problem with the world is stupidity. Not saying there should be capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself? Frank Zappa

If the files are too large and you want to decrease the size AND cut out unwanted parts there are several types of encoding software that will do what you want as well. You can target the parts you want to have copied and encoded and then delete your source file.

I'm sorry or....but what's the use of this answer??? "....there are several types of encoding software that will do what you want as well." Man, I KNOW that - some costly/expensive, some not so ditto - and some even for free!!! - but who can provide some decent sofware suggestions........I almost give up - I'll just go like DAC (David Allan Coe): "LAID BACK AND WASTED, DRIVIN' TO DRINKING"...........and then go my own way.... Tmpgenc 4.0 Xpress is about the easiest to use video editting program I've tried. It's drag and drop to open a file and has large, well-marked buttons and sliders to cut out sections, apply color and size filters and dozens of other options. It accepts every file type I've thrown at it, including flv (flash) and it outputs to just about any file type, with a user defined bitrate for video and audio. I've seen more expensive programs and, while Xpress isn't on the cheap side of things, I still think it's worth the money. A free trial is available. Sarcasm is a body's natural defense against stupidity.
