Does anyone have any experience with Toshiba external drives? Staples has Toshiba Canvio 3.0 1TB drives on for a clearance. The price is $30 lower than a 1TB WD or Seagate drive at Costco. I've only ever used WD and Seagate but the price of these Toshibas has me interested. Does anyone have any experience with these? My WD and Seagate drives have been trouble-free. Is anyone aware of Toshiba's reputation? | |

Well, you are going to get some negativity on all choices, but from my experience, they represent very good value. I have 4 of them & never have had any problem. My first was a 300Gig, about 4 years back. Since then I have had 2 1TB drives & 1 2TB. All are still functioning perfectly & touch wood I have never had any issue with any of them. They are well made, perform well & have an on/off switch on the back easily accessible. I will certainly look out another when I need more. Cap'n. I've had toshiba drives as internals in my laptops (three of them) and never had a problem. In fact I'm writing from a laptop with a 5 year old laptop with a Toshiba drive that's never even hiccuped! | |
