Sites That Post on Other Sites Recently I've noticed what seems to be a growing trend of one website posting content from another: An ALS Scan gallery showing up at 1byday A Pretty4Ever gallery showing up at AmourAngels A Watch4Beauty gallery showing up at Pretty4Ever (of course, they're the same company) This seems to me to be a cooperative marketing ploy to get members (and sometimes even visitors) of one site interested in another. I wonder how well it works? To me, it's a letdown when content from a different site takes the place of what could have been fresh, new, exclusive content. One example is the Iveta B gallery that has shown up at Pretty4Ever. And that gallery is better than the average on offer at Watch4Beauty, meaning in my opinion that it doesn't really represent Watch4Beauty, which I think is overall a pretty boring site. This is of course different from what, say, MetArt does with content from errotica-archives. MetArt posts Errotica content, but it's always unique and exclusive to MetArt and doesn't show up at Errotica. That I don't mind a bit. It sure is a problem for the user - and I guess (too) it has to do with marketing. But it'll create some sort of inflation where the user may get less exclusive stuff than expected. One site - or rather coorporation - that really seems to speculate in another kind of "dubble coverage" i DDF where the main motherload is of course 1byday - and recently they've added two or three "NEW" sites with of course another name, but most content can be seen elsewhere on, yes again another DDF-site. This fits in with what I was thinking about more sites getting together to pool resources, amalgamating, or simply buying one another out, in order to deal with the worldwide recession. I expect to see more of this. | |

This is something that goes on for years now but the first time I've seen this was on pages of European fetish models like Golden Feet, Lady Gwendy, Elegant Uschi, Heels Nylon etc. All Over 30 works closely together with Karup's OW for instance and they have the same photographers and also similar or identical models. It's a marketing thing and as far as I'm concerned it may help to find content that you like ... | |

Nothing new under the sun here. Part of I think to has to do with licensing. Some of the sets that maybe "exclusive" to a site may only have a limited "exclusive lifetime". After a time, the photographer/owner has the right to resell. Part of it also is, as others have noted, sites trading or cross selling to boost their content numbers at a discount. Personally, I don't have a big problem with it as I might catch something from another site I haven't joined or the quality might be better from the other site. | |

I like it! I'm pretty happy to have a 650 MB 1-By-Day video showing up out of the blue at ALS Scan the other day. And if 1-By-Day posted a similar ALS Scan vid, I would imagine that there would be some happy 1-By-Day members as well. It's a smart thing to do and I would imagine that the sites then are affiliates of each other and make money on the joins that are identified as being a result of those postings. Karen Dreams has done this for a number of years. Her whole "bonus" section of her site is sample galleris from other sites - her members get cool material, other sites get the exposure and not only isn't it a cost to her, but she makes money if her members like and join the other sites. Considering how many stupid business people there are out there, I'm always happy to see smart ones - and this is smart stuff. | |
