See Ya Guys and Gals

See Ya Guys and Gals,

Been around PU since 2007 and near 8 years later its not for me anymore. The site has dropped off and the dynamics are not what I find healthy for my participation. As I have mentioned before to each their own, but this is American, this site is based here. Now why I know we accept visitors from all over the tone in the groups is just not for me anymore. I stand by "all" my Constitutional Rights not just the ones that give me rights to have porn or bare arms but all. For me when things get hypocritical or Anti-American I tend not to stick around.
The PU staff members are great, and I thank you for the time here. Although the promises of a great site and more never developed. I still respect the staff here and all the fun. Yes people leave and come back, but I am for good hanging up my hat here and wont be returning. Just too much has changed for me to stick around. I love Freedom for all men and women regardless of what sex, religions, and preferences. Some people say that, but if you are wanting to limited US freedoms then you do not get what freedom is.

I wish you all well, I hope the site returns to its former glory days, but even then I wont be returning. Just not for me, and the group seems to be switching to a Liberal only point of view, which I find odd in the midst of some of the largest suppression of rights occurring in the nations history. Something is seriously broken in many forums and groups when they see freedom is in removing rights not embracing them.

No reason to babble on, to my friends on here, was great ride wow what allot of great conversations.
Id say seeya , but as said wont be back just too much has changed since 2007.

Every have a safe season and stay outta trouble, Since 2007

Well, obviously sorry to hear you've made the decision to leave for good. But I respect that you need to decide what is best for you. We thank you for your past participation.

I do hope you've registered for an invite for MyPorn.com and will consider joining us there when we finally get it launched.

I was hoping Cybertoad's "I'll be back" thread was true and that this would only be temporary...but maybe this will eventually turn out to not to be true either. At the very least, I hope CT is still lurking around here and reconsiders.

I haven't been participating much here in the last few weeks, but rest assured it's not PU. I was just sort of depressed with Internet commenting recently when I was participating on some other sites and started to get a little tired of their unquestionable echo chambers. Way too many sites and blogs suffer not only from rigid lockstep enforcement but a pretty serious hatred of any middle ground. You can't just say "I agree, good job." and move on; it must be 110% passion and enthusiasm or you're just weak-minded, indecisive, and possibly intolerant.

And it sounds like CT was thinking the same thing was starting to happen here, and that his views, at least the ones outside of porn, might not be welcome. But I thought PU has always been a great place for discussion and a wide range of opinions not totally welcome elsewhere. Ironically porn is one of the things that makes a lot of people not so tolerant; drop the "p" word and suddenly you're not so cool after all. Worse, this taboo is a great uniter of otherwise disparate groups; religious fundamentalists, social conservatives, and some of the more radical feminists.

For craps sake, isn't this is a porn review site whose focus is porn reviews, not politics. Unless I misunderstand.

Yes jook, it is. But one of the stated purposes of the forum part of PU was to allow users to get to know one another better. To that end, discussions on a wide range of topics are equally appropriate. Former PornUsers Senior Administrator

I agree, most anything goes in the forum and it's a great way to get to know one another. What I was trying to say, although apparently not very clearly, is that I don't understand leaving this site over topics or opinions expressed in the forum. I don't agree with a lot of things that are said in the forum. However, by far, the main reason I am a member is for the reviews and info on sites. And I believe that is the main purpose for the site's existence.

Anyway, to each his own.

I hope CT comes back soon too.

This is an incredibly civil forum and that's more amazing when you realize that the members probably come from all corners of the planet and have wide ranging opinions on many issues but the one thing we're all here for is to talk about our hobby.

FWIW I try to govern myself by an unwritten rule imposed in military messes in Canada. I have no doubt that something similar is imposed in the U.S. and many other places too: no discussing religion or politics. Those two areas can be too divisive and can undermine a Unit's camaraderie. Maybe Khan should step in as the President of the Mess Committee and impose some order...

You mean censor. We have been civil in all our discussions and when I have seen any thread that breaks the rules of this forum, Khan has taken action. They have been few and are dealt with quickly. I see no need for changes to this forum. It works fine. Warning Will Robinson

I fear that both religion and politics are likely to come up at some time when the core topic is porn.

My thought is, as long as everyone respects other people's right to form their own opinion ... even when it doesn't agree with yours ... then conversations can be carried on that include those topics.

I've said it before but I am *very* thankful (and a little amazed) that the folks here conduct themselves so well regardless of the subject.

Is this what I get, Cybertoad, after fighting my way back from the recent stuff I've encountered..... only to see one of our best scratching an itch that needs to be left alone.
You're one of my leading sources of information. Didn't you know that? Hell, man, you know more about everything than anybody I know.
You're one of the very few around here who tickle even the most learned ears of the masters who grace our site, what with your innate ability of retaining happenings of meaningful world affairs that would otherwise pass us by.

C'mon man, give us a break. It's inconceivable a man with your long attachment to this site would even think of such a shocking move away from so many friends who come to love having you around.

Contrary to your very eloquent proclamation citing general flaws, and more importantly developing a waning interest in what PU is offering. I can only say, "man, your too smart to let that sink into your thinking." cuz I simply find it hard to believe you actually mean all the stuff you laid down here on this thread.

Hang in here, big guy.....I was eighty-one this October.
And I fully intend to be setting at my computer, PU lighting up my screen, when I'm letting go of my last breath.
Tant' all glitters that's gold, my friend.
Except PU ......stay put, old buddy.

I'm sorry that CT is gone because it would have been mice if he could have stayed but I think some of his views were leaning in a direction that few other in this forum are and at some point it can get quite tiresome to have everyone against you.

In any case. He will be missed. Long live the Brown Coats.

You are correct but if you read any of the newer to older threads than you will quickly realise that unlike most other porn forum. We actually want to talk about other thing. I'd also like to add that if it wasn't for the other discussion than I would have left this thread a long time ago because I don't see much point in discussion porn when so little of it is being made and most of the stuff that is done is one level above crap. Long live the Brown Coats.
