CLOSE-UP: SOME ANNOYING TRENDS I'm curious to get the thoughts of others on this. My gripe has to do with how, in porn scenes, they 'manufacture' angles so you (the viewer) can see the various bits. Eg, in a BG scene, how the guy sets himself at an angle to the girl (not front on) so you can see his cock making entry. Two obvious results from this: 1. The guy's cock usually only enters halfway. Any further in, and his torso would ne too close, and would block the view. 2. It looks phoney, laboured, and lacking in erotic appeal. The most common positions for this seem to be doggie and missionary. In those positions I much prefer the guy to lean forward, and envelope the girl in his arms - play with her boobs (doggie) or tongue kiss her (missionary). In these positions, you know his member has made full entry, a far bigger turn-on than the staged look I refered to above. I think that close-ups are best done in certain positions (such as girl on top - camera from behind, reverse cowgirl or spooner), and I wish the vid people would stop trying to 'manufacture' views which look false and phoney Have close ups by all means; in fact, the close-ups are the icing on the cake. But surely it's best to do the close-ups using poitions which are best suited for them. What do others think? | |

Yep, I prefer the 'far shots' I like to see the girl, her face especially. It's nice to see a close up here and there but spending more than a minute is far to long. As is mentioned above close-ups are like the icing...too much and you get sick of it. | |

Sometimes these closeups get a little awkward because they have to fit the camera and a burning hot light between the guy's legs, then when he changes positions sometimes he'll just throw it into reverse and bump into the camera. I always laugh at these moments because I can't understand why they don't choose to edit these out. Another camera-bumping culprit is these stupid platform high heels that every girl seems to be required to wear at some time or another, and usually through the whole damn scene! They look uncomfortable to the girl, and potentially eye-gouging or testicle-smacking to the guy, never mind how often they swing into the side of the camera equipment. These weird closeup angles never look very comfortable for the guy. The girl will be on the edge of a bed or couch and the guy leans in from one side or the other, one hand on the couch or bed and the other at his waist like he's stretching his back. Hi turboshaft - you raised some really good points! Re the high heels: they are one of my pet hates! They bugger up a girl's posture, deportment, and make movement awkward. To me, the sexiness of a girl depends upon good posture, figure presentation and ease of movement. The ONLY type of scene I can accept HHs in is a secreetary type scene, and even then they should get rid of them early in the scene. Re your other points: you mention the fact that often things look uncomfortable for the couple. I agree, and I think for the sex to be convincing, they need to be comfortable. | |
