Video porn collection organization So, I did a quick search, but almost everything I found refers to pictures. Is there a solid way to organize and tag your video porn collection? Some kind of software maybe? English is not my first language but I'm trying my best.

Wouldn't you first do that as you download them? I know that I rename all my videos to include performers name, the type of sex scene, the site it's taken from and a date. Long live the Brown Coats.

No, I hadn't done it up until now. I was keeping the default file name. Some sites this is OK, like Michael Ninn or Holly Randall, where the filenames are quite descriptive themselves. But on Naughty America or Brazzers there's a slight issue. English is not my first language but I'm trying my best. Edited on Aug 10, 2013, 11:58pm

Depending on the size of your collection you could have some serious work ahead of you. One thing I do to flag scenes I really like is to right click them and create a shortcut. That way when you want to find you favorite scenes you can just do a search for the workd 'shortcut' and they all come up.

^^I like rearadmiral's method so I suggest that you start doing that with your downloads. I also recommend that you consider doing like I do. This way you can do a search by site name or fetish. Long live the Brown Coats.

I can tell you it only gets worse, took me a month back in May 2013 to sort my videos and that was just to classify them. Now I need to rename them which will take months. I have checked allot of software, from Picass, Acdsee, Xnview and and they are all average speeds at doing what you want. I gave up on those programs bought Xplorer 2 Pro and and went to town I also bought a Folder Icon kit that allows me to put Icons on folder easy so now I can put special icons as yellow folders easy. If you don't do the work at first you will regret it later. I know you start surfing find that nice tid bit and you start down loading and common sense tells you to hurry and get the video well them that mistake makes it terrible later. my large photo collection is crazy outta order. Sure thing Nasos, One nice think about Xplorer2 is the pro and the regular have previews. That means you can see near any format be it a pic, a vid or a word document. The pro version has a nice search and some cool options and will view more file formats. This is a 21day trail on the pro version to so if you find you don't like it you can go back and use the free version. Check out the screen shots HERE And a compare of pro and free HERE and Facts HERE I have found this to be a very powerful file manager I advice you not to make it the default to replace windows explorer, some application of Windows gets all confused when you switch the default to Xplorer so at install I would not replace the default. Check it out the free is free, and its only 29.99 paid pro. There is nothing I found bad about it, You can customize the usage so easy. So for organizing it allows a quick preview then you can drag drop copy paste easy. I know other viewers like Xnview and picassa allow this similar of vids and pics, but compared to Xplorer they are sluggish and slow. I can drag drop and move large files or whole folders and its faster then the default windows has. I use Win7 Ultimate and have used it on XP Pro both no problems. I used the free version for years as it pretty good but if you are power user and know your way around a windows os you will like the open power of the program. The free is good and you can try the pro trail for 21 days. I have tried other replacements and most fail at previewing files. I find its a good mp3 player as I can just go to the directory click the file and the preview plays it. If you poke around some of the links you can find what files it previews there are allot that surprised me like FLV's and alike. NOW as it is with any program your windows codecs must be installed and be correct, they have a great support system and nice people when you have question, the free gives free updates and the Pro as well and you never pay for updates again. Check it out any questions I'll see if I can answer. ( PS if you double click on a file it will open the default file viewer. example a word doc double clicked will open WORD, so just a click to see it in Xplorers previewer and double click the file of choice to see the default players. Or you can just use your down arrow keys in a directory and it will show each file in the preview area. Oh and welcome to PU. Since 2007 Edited on Aug 12, 2013, 02:53pm

Thanks a lot for the info. As soon as I am done with Naughty America in a few days I will start this project. Hopefully my collection is not that large yet. English is not my first language but I'm trying my best.

I know I went about it all wrong. I filed everything under the website it came from. At first it seemed smart, but if you want a special model or a scene that you really enjoy, you first have to remember what website they/it were from. This worked for a couple of years, but as my collection got bigger and my memory got dim, it got hard(BAD PUN) to know where to look. I have been putting the name of the performer on the file and creating folders for the type of scene. Of course I have years of files that I would have to update to this new method and I just don't see myself putting in the hours it would take to update them all. I wish I had started doing this from the first. So think it through. Models, scenes, etc. and maybe put a number on those models/scenes that are special to you. A four digit number that meets a code for the criteria mentioned above. Whatever direction you take, good luck. Warning Will Robinson

What I actually had in mind, was some kind of video cataloging software, where I could point it to the folders of my collection, and then I could put tags on the videos, like performer's name, site, kind of scene(anal, b/g, solo etc...). I have thoroughly searched the web last few days, but have found a ton of crap. Many programs that are geared solely towards movies and TV Shows that make it hard (lol) or impossible to just tag your video collection. As to the renaming of the files, my collection is not that large yet. It's about 400 videos. Right now I have them sorted by site, which is the easy way, but I started pondering what you said, renaming by performer etc... But if I could find some kind of software like the one I described above, that would streamline and fasten the process a lot. English is not my first language but I'm trying my best.

Be careful some of the free organizing software for movies I found to have spyware or adware so heavy could not practically use the software. I tried allot of the free ones, and for years there has been talk of a Pornonizer but all the ones I have seen just are to complication. And practical usage would need to be on the fly almost. At the speed and volume one can aquire porn fast organizing is a must but elusive. If anyone ever made a great fast organizer they could make some serious money. Since 2007

Exactly what you said. For the life of me, there seems to be no legit free software out there for this kind of job. I would seriously ponder a cheap one though, at about $30-40 if it did what I want. English is not my first language but I'm trying my best.

Ya I have been looking since about 2010 for something that was easy to you and not over done. Xnview and Acdsee are both adequate at pictures but not at movies I have a fast pc and it takes for ever to load movie directories to make practical. Since 2007

Cnet rates Xplorer2 Pro 5 stars (both editors and users), and starts review with: "Eat your heart out, Windows Explorer. This powerhouse file manager beats the pants off Microsoft's built-in utility on almost every count." Having used Windows Explorer, that sounds like what I need. But I will take Cybertoad's suggestion to retain WE as the default. Thanks

I should add when I did try Xplorer as a default I had to uninstall the explorer to put WE as default again that that only flaw I found was that. And as previously mentioned some windows programs by pass default settings and go directly to WE so it seemed to open the Xplorer and the We a the same time and froze. So because WE is more proprietary then say IE or WMP. I saw it as good replacement but the default not working well is WE fault not Xplorers. Since 2007
