I realized, upon waking up this morning, that I don't think about sex all that often, but I do think about porn a lot. I suspect most people think porn IS sex but I will submit that while porn provides sexual objects, it really is much more than that. First and foremost, porn is commerce. Any successful company has a business model they follow. And though I think in general the people running and making porn are just high school fuck ups in an adult body, if you're going to stick around for the long haul, you have to follow a plan. One of the things that PU advises people on is to be aware of cross sells when joining a site. I find today, sites posting discounts (like those found on PU) are stripped down offerings of their network. Examples: I recently joined 21Sextury though PU for $9.95*. The layout of the 21Sextury portal leads one to think that all of their network sites (21Sextreme & 21Naturals) are included. There were not. Inside the portal you will find those sites locked and an offer to join them, though all of the scenes will be listed under a model's name. Yesterday I renewed my subscription to Evil Angel using PU's discount offer (though I believe this is the regular price now) and found certain bonus material locked and only available through joining Evil Angel's package of sites (EAPOS), an individual group of sites of a specific director or a niche, like Milk Enema. I've noticed that DDF network does the same thing by offering a less expensive entry for a specific network vs their entire network (OnlyBlowjob - $19.95 vs DDF Network - $29.95). These company's business model calls for a $30 price point and to achieve that, the above examples are how they do it. Its a little late in the stage of this has-been post ..... however, I will dutifully pass on to my fellow PU brethren, who's time was wasted reading the drivel I originally had occupying this space, and especially to our valued thread creator, Jberry, who, in his usual contributing superfluity of exciting, innovative and newsworthy things to report, but also excels likewise giving us those little unique, linguistically formulated gems that sparks interest and so much awe. I'm editing this because upon re-reading the previous post that was there all along, day by day making less and less sense, finally in my mind reaching imbecilic proportions, I figured for the sake of duty-bound compassion to my fellow members, who're still scratching their heads and wondering why they too must endure the daily torture of the previous post capturing their attention each time they click onto this thread. A good analysis, highlighting some current business practices. I don't mind porn companies making a profit, or using practices like splitting up their network into different membership parts. What I really hate is trickery and deliberate attempts to con people out of their money. The more it continues the less likely people will be wanting to subscribe. Imagine dodging the minefield of being a newbie subscriber, without a site like PU to warn you of extremely dodgy behaviour. It will eventually chase away the ones there are left who are willing to pay for porn. I think as you get older you think about porn and sex a lot less. This may be more to do with the problems that arise in life, rather than just being too old for it. You are also more likely to be with a long term partner. Graymane - ever since I joined PU there has been a "not as good as it used to be" undertone to everything. There is less activity, but not a lot less at the moment. Over the months, activity increases and decreases. Four years ago they were going into the "PU is dying where will we find some new active members from," thing. In any forum there will be a newbie flurry of activity followed by a settling down period. Things will rarely be as active and exciting as they are at the start. | |

I could have sworn when I was member (a few years back...  ) that 21Sextury included 21Sextreme, though I don't remember 21Naturals. Are you saying they list all scenes for a model across all their networks, but without links to download those that aren't under your particular subscription? Damn confusing and annoying because, frankly, some of us want to go straight to the dirty stuff and join 21Sextreme but wouldn't mind getting a couple other sites as well. Their tour pages don't exactly clear up matters much.On a somewhat related issue, I was looking at WetAndPissy--because, with me, there's no accounting for taste, and as I mentioned above, "straight to the dirty stuff"  --and was wondering if you get all of WetAndPissy.com plus all of their parent company's sites through Puffy Network. Both of these subscriptions are $20/month ($30/month without PU discount), but I couldn't accurately say what the point of joining a single site if the network has all of its content as well as all the other sites for the same exact price. With regard to 21Sextury they have the two additional sites I mentioned plus new beta site, 21Roles. 21Natural is like the softer shot romantic themed sites. 21Roles will be one where you pick the scene in a story line. Their join page has all three sites--WetandPuffy, WeLikeToSuck, and WetandPissy--listed as part of the subscription, but so do all these sites, so I guess it's just the same membership for the same price by way of whatever fucked-up fetish lures you in.
I'm always interested and have seen a little of their stuff, albeit I prefer the solo and girl-girl route taken by W&P above, which is practically a fine art to me.  Stuff like Sineplex is more the Max Hardcore/extreme sports route of the surprisingly varied genre of watersports; where it seems to be more about the spectacle than the eroticism. You can see unapologetically hardcore, I-never-thought-of-that-before scenes, but the women never look like they're totally enjoying it and the male performers come off as hired jerks. Blog #3 - Porn Tricks or what do you expect on Halloween? Prior to giving up my subscription to 21Sextury, I placed a number of models in my Favorite tab. One of these models is Lola Talyor. About 12 days ago I looked over the Upcoming scenes that were scheduled to drop and on my last day, Lola had a scene dropping - Hurrah!! Blog #4 - Body Piercing: How the hell do they do that? Over the past few months, my cognizance of places where piercing studs appear has increased. Body piercing never really did much for me. Proxy Paige's nose dumbbell looks like she needed to pick her nose. Six rings in the bottom lip just seems like overkill. Having bitten my tongue, I could not understand the attraction of having a plug of flesh taken out of that muscle to be replace by a piece of jewelry. Yikes! But body piercings (and tats) don't looks like they're going to slow down anytime soon - just get more outrageous location wise. What sent me on this journey to find out more about body piercing, was seeing a girl with studs on top of her back dimples.  How the hell did they do that? One technique I read about is called Surface Piercing which basically is like any dumbbell piercing except that the connecting rod is located under the skin.  Removing the offending object is not all the difficult and can be done by the installer with the resulting holes healing over, though scaring can be an issue. Well that seems pretty reasonable if you like that sort of thing, but really didn't answer the question of how you get two studs 10" to 12" apart. Or on your temple or cheek. Thank god the Internet provided the answer; a process called Dermal Piercing. Dermal piercing calls for an anchor to be placed under the skin. Here is an excerpt from a Dermal Piercing guide from the prime health channel: "�boring� or making a hole on the skin surface. A surgical needle is sterilized, usually with 70% alcohol. The hole is made into the skin layer which reaches down to the muscle layer. The foot of the jewellery or �dermal anchor� is inserted into this perforation. When the tissue heals, the foot of the Dermal Piercing anchor is firmly held in place. After Dermal Piercing removal of jewelry is not possible unless surgical means are adopted." Some flesh is removed in this procedure. Obviously removal of the jewelry is not easy. Youtube provides several examples, of which I've included a dimple procedure installation here. And why they forced this girl to smile after the removal and a gaping hole left behind I'll never know. There is only one observation I can make about piercings - thank god I'm too old to do such crazy shit! PS... Just an additional photo I'd like to add to this discussion. Good photo of the anchor.  I received a communication from a piercing technician where I live and she told me that this state's Health Department has decided that we were no longer allowed to offer these piercings as of June 2012. Inasmuch as this is a blog, I'll jus' throw this in .... true story: Couple years ago a very bright young man moved in next door as a live-in to be with his girlfriend, who is a high-paid specialty nurse of some kind. When I say bright, I mean he was good at anything he took on. Could install or fix anything. Short but Strong as a bull.... not the kind to pick a fight with. However, He had only one potential and another major problem: Potential meaning being loaded from head to toe with tats and body-ornaments: ears, nose, eyebrows, nipples, belly button, you name it. Why? My only guess is the usual: to highlight those attention-grabbers that screams out: "look at me? "I'm different!" The only time I've seen his face bare of the above was in a police photo (among his probable drug related arrests) wherein all those bare piercing holes stood out like tits on a bull. Problem #2 was an appetite for drugs, the consumption of which I've yet to see anywhere. Somehow he always had a roll of greenbacks to keep himself soaring with the eagles. And with an unbeatable proclivity to talk himself into and /or out of whatever you had that he wanted, my home, Being so close, was a walk-in exchange for particular hard to find favors. Things went well for the couple, even the birth of a beautiful baby girl, whom he tended while her mother worked and bought home the bread. Unfortunately, unlike family bliss that so heatedly bonded their relationship for so long a time, ultimately fell apart when she got fed up with fighting his dependence on drugs and locked him out. All attempts failed at reuniting, during which he continued living apart from his daughter and the woman he adored. Months passed. Then one morning I opened the newspaper and saw his familiar unvarnished face, appearing in the same police photo I'd seen earlier. Seems he kidnapped his past live-in (my neighbor) , and at gun-point, driving around a suburban area -- I would guess trying to talk his way back into her graces -- found he was being pursued by police. Attempting escape, or maybe buying some time, driving through the village he unexpectedly got himself trapped in a cul-de-sac . Police Bullhorns blaring for him to release the woman and come out of the car, only succeeded in him placing his gun at the woman's head and admonishing police to retreat. Suddenly the silence was split by a single shot from a scope-mounted high-powered rifle. The bullet found its mark, passing through the head of a guy I'd formed a neighborly kinship, traded stories, and exchanged favors with on a regular basis. I hate to bring up my germaphobia (again), but I do hate it when people pass off alcohol as sterilization, especially for something that's going to be cutting into skin. Sorry, but it's bad enough when people pass off a practice that's just fucking dumb, but also potentially dangerous. From the CDC: "Alcohols are not recommended for sterilizing medical and surgical materials principally because they lack sporicidal action and they cannot penetrate protein-rich materials. Fatal postoperative wound infections with Clostridium have occurred when alcohols were used to sterilize surgical instruments contaminated with bacterial spores." I can't say for sure if it's a fleeting sense of adventurism or the perceived individualism (usually from observing someone else do it first, of course), but the ignorance that surrounds body modification, particularly from the anecdote-is-everything "experienced" crowd just pisses off the evidence-based rationalist in me. Frankly, for something like a surgical needle, it should come sterilized in sealed packaging from the manufacturer, or someone's properly autoclaving it and hopefully has at least has the vaguest sense of what in the fuck they are actually doing, at least before they go slicing into your epidermis. And since anecdotes are what make the world of the body mod crowd go around, I'll add my own, since I have a few piercings myself--no dermals, I'm sad to report, but we can't all be above average. And even attempting to have a few rational preferences of my own sometimes got to me. Like requesting titanium jewelry for an original piercing, answered with the reassuring "We have surgical stainless steel, it's basically the same." Except it's fucking not, and I quickly learned to leave the apparently impenetrable science of metallurgy to people who could understand the mysterious differences between titanium, iron, chromium, and nickel (the guilty element in stainless steel alloys that can cause allergic reactions). And even if someone understands why one might prefer a particular material over another they're frequently caught in the vegetative state of preaching that everything "natural" is better. Never mind that isolated and pure elements, including some metals that go into jewelry, are rarely found naturally, and have yet to be found in the shape and strength of a ring or bead. I guess being "good at anything he took on" didn't always lead to the best outcomes. Sad story, but I don't think it proves anything for or against tattoos and piercings. Sorry, Turbo, but try as I may, I'm not getting the point to your latter post ending. But if its saying I'm associating body-ornamentation to criminal behavior, then I cannot stress too strongly my ambiguities on the matter one way or the other. What I intended to convey (in part) was how odd it was, in broad daylight, standing in my front yard conversing with this individual, who's earlobes drooped like squeezed play-putty from the weight of jeweled metal rings, dumbbell configured nose piece, glittering small stones lining the brows, lower lip impaled under a pearl dagger, the tongue sporting another pearl insertion (a sight that makes this viewer's liver quiver) , ball cap reversed ...... generally clothed elsewhere with body pieces so bazaar it slowed traffic, (some bouncing off the curb) prompting residents tying their garbage cans to telephone poles. And there I was, in front of God and everybody, a spectacle and main neighborhood feature, for all to see and rap about over tea gatherings and coffee breaks. But the guy's body was sculptured like a Greek God, had the strength of a bull and a mind sharp as a surgeon's scalpel. But he didn't have the common sense to stay off the mind-benders ....... his inevitable waterloo. | |

Blog #5 - What an Asshole! or what the butt am I looking at? From a Jay Sin thread on another forum that shall remain anonymous comes the discussion about terms used in rectal display. No need to be sorry; reading your post it seemed like you were associating your anecdotal account with a heavily pierced and tattooed individual to a criminogenic life, but obviously I misread it. There doesn't seem to be a lot of hard data on the issue-- criminals and their body modifications or lack thereof--and that's either because it's so complex or maybe it just doesn't mean much of anything. But both sides seem to enjoy the "I know a guy" stories that don't say anything conclusive about getting tattoos and piercings and, what, not going to church, voting Democrat, speaking a second language, etc.? Assholes are assholes, and whether or not that's innate, learned, or both, I doubt ink and jewelry is going to sway people. I picked your post to add my little piece of info regarding this type of piercing. Tanner Mayes got two piercings on her lower abdomen a few months before leaving porn. I had a hard time overlooking what her face now looked like but those piercings were so disturbing to me that I was never able to watch her again. Long live the Brown Coats. | |

Blog #6 - Adventure in Amateurland. Recently I came across a video preview sponsored by My Dirty Hobby of a model named Sexy Naty. Upon visiting My Dirty Hobby I found that they use a coin system for purchase. I started doing a little math on the cost per minute of the vids. Wow - about a $1.00 a minute. And you might get stuck with extra coin you cannot spend. And they are all streaming videos (and though there is a way around that obstacle, it is less than an ideal solution). Upon further review I found other sites that have her videos available but you still have to pay the middle man and have the same streaming issue. Then I found her site called Sexynaty. This site is set up exactly like My Dirty Hobby, inasmuch as the vids are streaming and it uses a coin system but the cost per min drops to .60� per minute. I found one other stumbling block. The credit card processor (CCP) was SQPay of which I could find no usable information nor anyone on this forum admitted to having used them. Well thank god there was a way to ask questions on her site. Naty's command of English was is very good so we were able to communicate about how we could do business. She was pretty much insistent that I buy coins but I told her I could not verify the veracity of the CCP. In one of our e-mails she told me if I bought a custom video (@ $10.00 a min) we could do business through Paypal. But she was not offering that as an option for her website videos. Finally I reached the conclusion we would not be able to do business and informed her as such, leaving on the table my last and final offer - Use Paypal and get me downloaded clips. Done and, as of this point in time, not done but there was promise of getting the clips downloaded in the near future. I paid a premium for using Paypal which drove the price up to about $1.00 a min but then she threw in a Lagniappe* video. Overall the video production quality went for bad to good, with the earlier videos having both focus, white balance and steadiness issues. They (I'm assuming her cameraman/BF) have since learned and their latter offerings are much better. I like some of the clips I got but if I had to do it all over again... well... I might have an interest in some of her new throat work. The attractive German does have a wide array of offerings (867), encompassing a wide range of niches (Anal, oral, pissing, solo, girl girl, toys, etc). While it took some effort, I ended up relatively satisfied. What I enjoyed most though was the process since it was so very different from anything I'd done within the scope of purchasing porn. And that my friends was my big adventure. * Lagniappe - a Cajun term meaning a little something extra, like a small gift given to a customer by a merchant at the time of a purchase. ____________________________________________________________________ Pat - I can understand becoming upset about the appearance of Tanner over the course of her porn career and while you might not like the piercings (I've seen hers) I think it is other "things" that put her into that degraded state. Extortionists using 'ransomware' called CryptoLocker are accessing personal computers to block files, demanding $300 or more for their release.[1] There are two methods being used at this time to install the malware. E-mails & Botnets**.
The CryptoLocker gang is paying criminal botnet owners operating vast command-and-control systems of compromised computers to distribute CryptoLocker as a dangerous attachment in spam, says Liam O Murchu, manager of security response operations at Symantec. Well the first step of control would seem to be pretty obvious. Don't open spam or any other e-mail attachments where you don't personally know the sender and were expecting them to send you an attachment. Second step is to back up your data, preferrable on an external hard drive and DON'T keep it connected to the computer except to do back ups. Or, pay the ransom (demanded in either BitCoin or MoneyPak (similar to PayPal)). While the actual success rate of infection from CryptoLocker may not been high so far, as measured by Symantec as in the .04% success rate range. But for victims, that is not much consolation since there is no way to decrypt their locked-up files. CryptoLocker is not known to be deleting files. An exceptionally informative piece of info, JB ..... Unfortunately for me it arrived too late..... the fox has already raided the henhouse. Having bought an external storage unit about four yrs ago, with a supposed ultimate inscription feature offering a capacity of near two terabytes, on the assumption my data was safe, I went about stuffing everything I could muster into it, after which created a password, locking it with what I thought an impenetrable inscription. Boy! .... did that notion ever come up short on careful and long on dumb ........ exemplifying actually beckoning cyber invaders in to help themselves. Not only were massive numbers of files stolen, but I found myself locked out of others without permission to get inside my folders. Based on similar and convincing activity going on all around my operating system, I'm completely convinced now, as evidence is clearly telling me, that my administrative powers have not only been stripped from me, but is taken over and run by another entity. Hell, I'm even finding much of my stuff inaccessible anymore unless I give a password I never created. Because of my deteriorating health, earlier this year I was forced to leave my inland home settling where I'd be closer to family and live in smaller quarters back at the beach. One of the major consequences of that, of course, was the loss of my trusty Computer guy..... whom I could depend on to keep my electronic baby squeaky clean of sundry vermin. | |

Blog #8 - Musical Porn Girl or what won't Blondie girls do? A long time ago, in another lifetime, I was smitten in love with a cute little blonde and we spent a summer in 1966 in San Fransisco romancing each other. Blog #9 - Donald Carlos Seoane vs Mark Spiegler or How sick does it get? Donald Carlos Seoane aka, Donny Long, once called Mark Spiegler up and told him not to represent his ex-girlfriend (Lana Croft). Only Mark did and thus began the war. The subject of Blog #7 started because I got interested in finding out more about who Mark Spiegler was and then quickly found out about the running conflict with Donny Long. Talk about drama. Well my jets got cooled rather quickly searching for a kernel of truth regarding this subject because there is none to be found. Blog #11 - Adventure(s) in Amateurland Revisited. a follow up. I heard from Sexy Naty this past weekend which was a pleasant surprise. Contacting her was on my agenda but she beat me to the e-mail. Her purpose for contacting me was to see if I liked the videos and to promote her business. One of the things I like about Naty is that she is willing to have a conversation with you. Blog #12 How Long Do Hard Drives Last? or can I ask another stupid question? I subscribe to an e-mail company blog from PC Pitstop and one of the articles today posed this question. Since hard drives are a frequent subject on PU, I thought I'd submit this for your consideration. By Bob Rankin It's a good question. But it might be the wrong question. Read on for some stats on the life expectancy of a hard drive, and find out the more important question you should be asking yourself... Hard Drive Life Expectancy (and the Right Question) Whenever I am asked, "How long can I expect a hard drive to last?" I reply with, "How often do you back up your data?" This seeming non sequitur perplexes people, but I have found that the answer to my question is, almost invariably, the reason the first question is asked. The questioner is wondering how much longer he/she can get away with not backing up data. Technobabble about MTBF (Mean Time Between Failure) in the 50,000 to 100,000 hour range is useless. Those hours are active hours during which the read/write head of the drive is moving. You have no way to monitor and record read/write head activity and you don't want to be bothered doing so unless you're a test engineer for a hard drive manufacturer. Hard Drive Life Expectancy Furthermore, MTBF measures mean (average) time before the hardware fails catastrophically, as in "it won't spin anymore." That is the very last thing that will go wrong with a hard drive, akin to throwing a rod in your car's engine. Long before the hardware fails catastrophically, you will be experiencing losses of data, and you might not even notice that it's happening. When data is written to a drive, the magnetic charge of tiny areas of the physical disk is altered. One magnetic state means 0 or zero, the other means 1 or one, or on/off, if you prefer. The patterns of this binary code store your data as a collection of magnetized spots in one state or the other. In order to make the disk reusable, the magnetic state of each spot on it must be changeable. A lot of things can change that magnetic state beside the drive's read/write head. A strong magnetic field near a drive can scramble data. Power blips can cause a read/write head to write (change the magnetic state of a spot) instead of read, overwriting data with gibberish. Even cosmic rays can penetrate any computer case and zap the data on a hard drive, although a cosmic ray is so narrow it will probably affect only one or a handful of data spots. You don't believe in cosmic rays? Fine. Natural disasters like fires, floods, hurricanes and tornados also tend to dramatically shorten the lifespan of a hard drive. Even if your brand-new 2 terabyte hard drive has no manufacturing defects, it won't last long in an F5 tornado packing 200 MPH winds. And of course, there are well-known threats from viruses and botnets. So a hard drive is in constant danger of having all or part of its data either erased, corrupted, destroyed, or otherwise rendered unreadable. It doesn't matter if the drive is fresh out of the box or nearing its MTBF. What Studies Have Been Done on Hard Drive Life Expectancy? A recent study on hard drive longevity was conducted by Backblaze, an online backup provider that has more than 25,000 consumer-grade hard drives in service. They found that 78% of the drives they use are lasting longer than four years. That might sound good, but it also implies that 22% of hard drives fail in the first four years. The Backblaze study identifies the three most common causes of drive failure: factory defects, random failures, and parts that wear out. The failures due to factory defects tend to happen in the first 18 months of service. Failures due to wear out start to increase much faster after the three-year point. The Backblaze study has been ongoing for four years. Other hard drive studies done by Google and Carnegie-Mellon University have been five-year spans, and both were conducted in 2007. So there just isn't an authoritative answer as to how long a hard drive will last. Backblaze has some stats that give them confidence to predict that more than half of all drives will last six years. I think you'll find their report interesting. What Are the Implications? Let me summarize and pontificate a bit. One in five hard drives will fail within four years. Failure rates start to jump after three years. And there's a 50/50 chance your drive will last six years. Does that give you a warm fuzzy feeling? With apologies to Clint Eastwood, you've got to ask yourself one question: "Do I feel lucky?" Well, do ya, punk? I'd rather not rely on luck and statistics. My advice is simple. If your drive has lasted three years, why take chances? Even if you make nightly backups you could still lose data if your hard drive fails suddenly. You can find 1-terabyte (1000 GB) SATA drives for under $60 now, and free disk cloning software makes it easy to transfer all your files. (See How to Clone Your Hard Drive.)*** And of course, it's vital to back up your data regularly and not just whenever you don't feel like doing something else. My article Free Backup Software Solutions will get you started. As I mentioned earlier here, data can and does get corrupted or erased while "just sitting there." Regular backups and replacing your hard drive every few years are the best defense you have against loss of data. *** A cautionary word about cloning: Disk cloning or imaging is a form of backup, but it's kind of a brute force approach. Because it takes everything from your drive and rolls it up into one big ball, it doesn't allow for incremental backups. Individual files cannot be added to, deleted from or replaced inside the image. And depending on your imaging software, it might not allow you to extract a single file from the image. Blog #14 - Crappy Way to Start the New Year or it's time to review you CC charges. Upon inspection of my CC statement today, I see where I've been charged for $9.84 plus an international charge. Krebs on Security article explains the pretext pretty well. And though it doesn't necessarily relate to porn fraud, lord knows how they secured my CC number. While I am in the process of hoop jumping to get the charge removed, I am also going to ask for a new card number - pain in the ass just remembering a new number - but at least this will stop any other fraud occurring on the account for awhile. Hehehe JB, stumbled upon your blog on here. Now thats a first cool. You said allot in your posts all good stuff. I agree and am disappointed when sites like 21st trick you into thinking more of the site is accessible. Even viewing clips you think or there is a nice one and bing for only 19.95 GRRRRrrrr ! It is ok for a site to offer other sites, thats good business, but integrating your salesmen team into my private and may I say paid private time sucks. Its like going out to dinner with a beautiful women, only to have the waiter offer to sell you the table and chairs and the cars out front. Blog #15 - from Gaypornlover or validation of the PU community
This type of post, which I've seen more of lately, is the type of validation of the strength and character with which PU represents. It shows I don't have to go look for something better or a better group of porn lover. While I might not use all of the riches available on TBP as much as others, nor those available on the upcoming myporn.com, I will take part in the those area's I most enjoy. Which prompts me to thank all who share, care and participate in our forums, polls and reviews. I would like to point out that we (participants and Khan) have done a great job of keeping our forums "level headed" and courteous. I suspect that when the new site is opened up for new members outside our current membership, that we will need to hold strong on keeping "OUR" site the same way and not let the bullies and trolls run wild. Don't feed the trolls - starve them out. If Rick reads my thread, this is not meant to chasing people from the site, just keeping our collegial forum intact with our strength of character and using our group strength to keep things sane - for all. If it ain't grits, it must be a Yankee. If you're going to lay her head over the pool table and fuck her throat, get your fucking hand off her throat! | |

Blog #16 - Vintage Porn or why should I rewrite a NYTimes article? I have, on occasions, been interested in vintage porn, not because of cheese plots or that they were highly rated porn films, but rather because of specific performers. Each week the NYTimes sends me e-mails - solicitations to purchase the paper and on Fridays an e-mail about book reviews and one on movie reviews.
