Instagram and the War on Porn

I read this interesting article today so thought I would share.

https://www.xbiz.com/news/243584/instagr...rn-an-xbiz-explainer

I've been realising this for a couple of weeks now so it wasn't surprising . Unsurprising how untransparent Instagram and Facebook are.

It's odd how social media sites say they can't do anything about online harassment and foreign attempts to influence democracies but show them a breast and they lose their collective shit and deal with it immediately.

But... as the article says, it really shows the power, influence and money of the Evangelical Christian movement in the States. But that shouldn't be a big surprise since a reading of the Gospels on which Christianity are based clearly shows a prophet who is all about power, influence and money...

All sarcasm aside, I'm neither religious nor spiritual but I have no fucking idea how the Evangelical churches have twisted the message of the New Testament into the shit they spew.

And to end this rant, it shows the kind of people they are when they brush aside Christian principles to support the most counter-Christian President in history just because he'll give them what they want, namely state control over women's reproductive choices and making sure them faggots can't git married.

^I agree with you about social media but I think Facebook, Twitter and many other social media platforms are about to reap the seeds they have sowed by being way too nonchalant when it comes to what they allow to be both posted and not deleted from their platform.

Facebook is likely going to be the first to feel the pain of Government oversight because everyone was okay when they pretended to be a platform where friends and families kept in touch with each other and could share recipes and photos but once they basically became a propaganda platform that allows it's members to post unverified news article who are then shared with unsuspecting people who take these news article to be truths because if it's on Facebook then it has to be true then they have to face the same penalties as any news organisation does. You lie then you get fined. You don't correct that lie and the fine gets bigger. Long live the Brown Coats.

Now in regards to Instagram deleting so many performers accounts. My gut feeling is that it has a lot to do with the new FOSTA/SESTA rules the Government past regarding sex trafficking/prostitution. Like it or not it's a fairly common thing for performers to more or less advertise their availability to meet with their (so called) fans which is code word for you want to fuck me than here is where I am and if you DM me then we can talk price.

If you check out a few performers twitter accounts than you will see that quite a few of them are pretty blatant about being interested in meeting fans one-on-one. You know to discuss geopolitics and other worldly subjects. Long live the Brown Coats.

Sex trafficking (but not consensual sex work) is clearly a horrible and despicable act, but in the end, the crackdown on social media as a source of advertising merely pushes it farther underground. I would actually think that authorities trying to track down and break up these criminal organizations would benefit from their being out in the open.

Also, why aren't they worried about all the other types of crime that benefit from social media? They must be a prime platform for everything from fencing stolen goods to finding investors for fraudulent business schemes. So why haven't they been forced to close down all accounts trying to promote for-profit enterprises?

Because, of course, when there isn't sex/porn involved, no one would support such a crackdown on business! It seems like a real double standard and unless we see a real decline in sex trafficking, it's a bit hard to justify in my mind unless you're someone who thinks anything and everything related to sex is by default wrong.

I guess time will tell - though I am sure those with a conservative agenda will make up whatever results they can to justify these bans. And if they can't hide the fact that they're ineffective, they'll probably then argue that they don't go far enough and come with even stricter rules.

I think it's crazy when a girl's Instagram will get deleted because she's a pornstar or whatever, even if she's not breaking the rules, yet I have seen SO many guys be inches away from showing their balls and they're fine. It's clearly a bit of sexism, let's be honest.
