MPEG Joiner? Does anyone know of a good program to join mpegs together? There are several sites that break scenes into parts and I would like to join the sections together. Freeware is preferrable :) thanks Kinky | Inky | Pinky | Stinky <><><> Give em to me Hotter than Fire <><><>

Same question for joining wmv's. Any freeware/shareware out there...or low cost software that can do the job?

I use movie tool box movie joiner. The free version only joins 3 files together, but if you're patient you can make a whole movie out of even 20 parts by doing a bunch of multiples of 3's, then adding those together to finally get to 1 file. 20 bucks to get the full version with no limits, and it seems to work pretty well. Link is here: http://www.movietoolbox.com/joiner.html

Thanks for the link. I downloaded it and tried it out on two short wmv's and two short mpg's. Worked perfectly. Fast, clean, easy to use and no loss in definition. The only (insignificant) issue is the extra screen before the joiner starts that will go away if you actually buy the software, and the max of 3 segments in the free version that you mentioned. For free I can live with that screen and the 3 limitation. The site has other interesting tools that I plan to try out when I have some free time. Thanks again. Just what I wanted.

There is a free version of TMPGenc available here: http://www.download.com/TMPGEnc/3000-214...353608.html?hhTest=1 I haven't used the free version in over a year (Bought TMPGenc Xpress 4.0) so I don't remember the exact location but, if you look at all the drop down menus, there's an "MPEG Tools" in there somewhere. Select Multiplex, add the files you want to join, give the file you're creating a name and a location, click on "Run" and you're on your way. Sarcasm is a body's natural defense against stupidity.

I use Easy Video Joiner and it has worked great for me on mpgs and wmvs, And its free! Last updated in 2003, but still works great and when you click to upgrade to the full version it takes you to a page that just tells you what to enter to register for free. http://www.doeasier.org/joiner/

I second MargulizAZ http://www.movietoolbox.com/joiner.html The movie joiner here is pretty good for a freeware - even if you only can join three files at a time - if you have six og more files it takes a little longer, but it's very reliable... BTW: It's actually so good, I think I will spend the $19 on register - then there's no limit... Antoher for .avi: try Peck's Powerjoin - it's also free and no limitations "I don't drink anymore - I freeze it, and eat it like a popcicle"

Thanks for the infor here. I guess I didn't realize that there were programs that could splice together mpeg clips and the like. Makes sense now that I think about it. Still, it's no substitute for websites offering a full length vid instead of just clips.

I actually found a better one than the initial one I suggested. I've been having some problems with the moviebox movie joiner merging certain files so today it motivated me to look at some others. The following one I've found to merge everything with no issues, and it's fast. Just a suggestion, use whichever you like: http://www.boilsoft.com/avi-mpeg-rm-joiner.html Edited on Aug 14, 2008, 01:23am Edited by Staff on Aug 14, 2008, 10:49am (Khan: Removed unauthorized link)
