Download restrictions

I joined 8th St. Latinas today, a Reality King site. If I had known it was Reality King, I never would have joined. My experience with them in the past has been less than stellar including their site content. [How they got to be #1 is way beyond me.]

In any event, the site is subject to their stingy download limits. After downloading 24 HD files, I got a message I was at my limit and would have to wait 24 hours. I didn't notice anything about such a limitation before I joined and went back to look for one and couldn't find it. I never would have joined knowing this, Reality Kings or not.

Can someone confirm whether or not they reveal this restriction before signing up? If they don't, I'm going to dispute the charge if they don't give me a refund.

Thanks.

This might have been better if posted on the listing page for
8th Street Latinas

As far as your specific issue ... I don't see a note on the TBP listing page (you may want to submit an error report) but I did notice that one of the past reviews (expired) did mention a "9GB download cap per 24hrs".

I haven't looked at the site itself so I'm not sure if that is the info you wanted or not. Former PornUsers Senior Administrator

Epoch agreed to refund my money after a somewhat heated discussion. The gist of their argument was that it was my responsibility to find out the terms of the site by contacting the provider. What hogwash. I asked the rep what if I were only allowed 1 download per week, would he say the same thing. And he said yes! I think in the end they didn't want to deal with a chargeback since that goes against their record, hence the refund.

Anyway, I don't fault Epoch as much as I do Reality Kings. In my world, to put it nicely, they are scum. -)

I will post a note on the 8th St. page to warn others of the download limitation. Edited on May 27, 2014, 04:36pm

I do not care much for them either, my only experience was many years ago, where they kept charging me after I left.
And blamed me for not cancelling even though I had and email confirmation. Took months to get it right. May have been fixed by now but left a bad taste. Too bad cause they have some real nice HD stuff. Since 2007

On a somewhat related note concerning speeds and such, Google has a new "Video Quality Report" that shows video streaming quality for about 90% of the time, based off of YouTube viewings. As I was expecting, my ISP rates SD, while quite a few competitors rate HD. The ones rating "low definition" I've never even heard of.

Probably a subtle way to make more people aware of their still largely beta Fiber service (which is unrelated to colon health, BTW) and pushing for more high speed Internet access overall. Always a good thing in my book. "It's incredibly obvious, isn't it? A foreign substance is introduced into our precious bodily fluids without the knowledge of the individual. These download restrictions are so bloody annoying. I've had my fair share of problems with Naughty America lately.

My internet connection isn't the fastest, so I usually just add a couple of 1080p videos to my download manager queue, and let them finish over night. That works just fine with mosts sites(e.g. Evil Angel, Brazzers), but apparently not with Naughty America.

After I had signed up, I learned that download links expire after an hour. They "don't officially support download managers" either. In about a week I managed to download not more than a single file, because even active downloads suddenly expire. Not to mention the countless server not found messages when I click on a download link while browsing the site.

Of course there's no information about this when you sign up. It's not even in the terms of service. I've left them an angry message, asking why paying customers have to deal with this crap, while "pirates" can get all the videos for free without any of these issues. They just told me to download one file at a time in my browser.

I don't know why you guys don't try to get your money back. I feel confident you would prevail in a credit card dispute and get it charged back. In my case, I didn't have to go that far. I simply threatened the processor (epoch) to do just that when they balked at refunding my money. As soon as I threatened to call my bank, they agreed to refund my money and did so within an hour.

I always make it a point to read the TBP listing on a site. The page for this site clearly marks it as a RK site.

And I can confirm that they do spell out the download limit in their Terms of Service. The language is a bit vague and it does seem to be applied differently to different people, but the limit is there. But like you I don't read the TOR very often. I do recommend that you dig a bit deeper and see if a site is affiliated with network because if you had identified that this was RK there is lots of information on the download limit. (And I say this with no hint of smugness since I joined a Bang Bros site without checking it out first and got badly burned.)

Thank you. After it got worse and I got error messages on almost every download link I contacted Epoch today. When I told them I was only able to download one single file since I joined, they told me that it's not their problem. They only do the billing. Instead I should contact the NA support. But after asking if I should contact my bank, lawyer or the appropriate law enforcement agencies in this matter, the person in the support chat agreed to refund my money. Got a confirmation a few minutes later.

Yup, similar thing happened to me. They denied responsibility and to contact the provider. I said I was only making one more call - to my bank. That did the trick.

They started a year or two ago

I had a membership for three or four months with no restrictions and then a ten gig limit per 24 hours was implemented. The limit was actually 3 to 7 gigs and was arbitrary at best, but the membership was only 8 or 10 bucks a month and the limits were for vid downloads only and not for stills or streams (which could then be DLd)
I lasted another month or two and will never return. The material is not anywhere good enough to warrant the level of arrogance that they exude. unless life also gives you water and sugar, your lemonade is gonna suck.
