Do you think ... ? PinkPanther's remark got me thinking. The question that came to mind seemed like it might be better as a forum thread than a regular poll. So here goes ... Do you think that porn will change (in any way) as a result of the recent US election? I do not think it will change at all, with Reps holding the house and senate I do not see them looking at abortion or porn. IN the past Reps when in this position tended to go after meaningful scores like economy and now I am sure healthcare. Maybe another time and place but Guns and Healthcare are huge areas of interest and porn seems a back burner subject even given California tightening of porn regulations etc. However like always the public may view that something will occur and this may scare investors, the public index to such things relies heavily on the perception of the public. Two years ago every one thought Obama would confiscate guns. There was a 300 increase in sales and a 200% increase in sales to women. Gun were not confiscated but the result was ammo became scarce from panic and I would say the aggression of many anti-gun groups and the healthcare issues fuels the huge tilt. What ever sides you are on in these elections there is always what the Gov will do and then worse what the public thinks they will do often exacerbates the true situation. I think for now, porn is safe. Since 2007

Nothing happened the last few years in Congress and nothing will happen now. Gridlock forever is the current motto. Besides, porn is not on anyone's radar in D.C. leading into a presidential election cycle. About the only change I expect to see is on a local or state level like we've seen with the condom laws in Cali. Most of the "porn issues" are primarily within the industry itself.

Whatever the focus of the legislative body is you can bet your bippy the driving force behind any movement is going to be money. As the character in The Judge, Hank Palmer said when asked why he always worked for the big business (the guilty), "Innocent people can't afford me." I want one of those emoticons with a sign that says "Follow the Money". If it ain't grits, it must be a Yankee. If you're going to lay her head over the pool table and fuck her throat, get your fucking hand off her throat!

Why would the politicians want to take porn away from themselves? I wanted something new, so I left England for New England.

I don't think we can use what happened to PD to make any kind of judgement on what may happen to more extreme sites in the future because PD is in many ways a separate case from similar sites. I don't know how many of you are aware but Kink is in big trouble with OSHA in large part because of the type of shoot they did on PD. I'm not talking slap on the wrist trouble but 50,000$ fine trouble. There was the highly mediatized case of Cameron bay who contracted HIV and it was rumored that she might have caught it while shooting for PD. I don't know if we will ever know but one thing is certain and there was a male who cut his penis and he bled and the scene was not stopped. There is also the fact that they used non-tested people who technically should not come into contact with the performers but who did and that is a major no, no in the industry. I think Peter Acworth had little choice but stopped producing PD type content because he can ill afford to get another fine like the ones he currently has. Long live the Brown Coats.

I doubt the election is going to impact much at all, to be honest. With a first-past-the-post/two-party-system as intractable as the one in the US, and fixed corporate lobbyists regardless of who's in office, the chance for drastic change (positive or negative) is pretty slim. I predict zero meaningful changes.

A lot of gun lovers may hate Obama because of what he could possibly, maybe, sometime in the future, do to the 2nd Amendment, but I'm thinking the industry must love it. And they usually have more issues with states than the federal government. (For example, Beretta fucking hates Maryland, and is moving to Tennessee in protest next year.) But I can't see any of the new politicians-elect doing much about porn, if anything at all. At most it's usually a Supreme Court or local issue, and with immigration-ISIS-Ebola fearmongerin' to drum up, porn is a pretty low on the list. Hell, I'm betting a lot of them couldn't even imagine what we're up to in our depraved corner of the web. Of course with one New York district electing a 30-year-old to the House, who knows? Oh, and you just have to smile at the fact that Utah elected a black Republican woman named Mia Love to congress. Even my head is spinning! And generally speaking, many states are slowly turning more socially libertarian, with conservatives staying quieter about gay marriage while more states voted in favor of ballot measures to legalize marijuana. So if nothing else, you'll have a greater chance of being more legally baked so as to not get so upset about things. "It's incredibly obvious, isn't it? Back in 2010 there was a Florida state legislator caught on camera with a topless pic (though it turned out to be only a joke in an email ) on his laptop while listening to a floor debate over an abortion bill. But it might be worse that I immediately thought I recognized it as a pic from one of ALSScan's Caribbean shoots. "It's incredibly obvious, isn't it?
