Question about downloading I love streaming porn sites with my Roku where available. But for other great sites not offering access through Roku, I download the movie to my HD and play it through Plex. This downloading is time consuming though. Has anyone come across downloading tools that speed this process any? Thanks. A true neck-lover. | |

I use IE and Firefox and both of these search engines have download managers so I simply start a few downloads and let them do their job while I keep surfing. I don't think this accelerates download speeds but I'm not aware of anything that actually does that. I've always been under the impression that download speeds are a question of your ISP, the server traffic of the site you are looking to download from and your location in the world. FreeDownloadManager has all kinds of features with it, including the ability to capture and download flash video. As with all download managers, it accelerates the process by downloading the files in multiple sections simultaneously. Sarcasm is a body's natural defense against stupidity. | |

If you use Firefox get their extension DownThemAll. I always (95% of the time) download at my top speed of 2.35MB/s. If you open "preferences" look under servers and have them combine the output of about 6 - 8 servers, that'll do it. Of course, if you download more than one file at a time your download speed per file will be lower. In this case it would be your top download speed divided by the number of files you download. | |

Also Dracula, your ISP should have a speed test available on their website, and if they don't I'm sure you can google one up. Its always good to know what kind of speeds your connection gets, and how that varies by time of day. If its too slow, you should probably upgrade. There is so much porn! And so little time! | |
