Does porn ever cause you to make stupid mistakes? Last night I was telling a friend that I bought my wife one of those single-cup automatic coffee makers. I explained that I bought her the Tassimo brand because it reads the bar code and probably does nothing with that information... but she'll be impressed. I contrasted that with the other major manufacturer, which I said was Karup. My friend, who knows I have a porn habit, looked at me funny. After calling the brand Karup several times I realized and admitted that the brand was actually Keurig, and that Karup was a porn site. Doh! The worst that happened though was when I went into a bookstore looking for a specific title. The middle-aged lady took me to where it was located and handed me the softcover version. I asked her if she had it in hardcore. I don't know who turned more red.  Anyone else have these issues? | |

I haven't made mistakes like those but I have misinterpreted adverts etc. because I'm using my porn brain instead of my everyday-life brain. Webmaster of StripGameCentral and A Measure of Curiosity. | |

It reminds me of a story I heard on the radio a few years ago about some California politician - a prominent liberal Latino - that was giving a speech and out of nowhere let loose with some racial epithet. And he was saying that he had no idea where that word came from - that it just flew out of his mouth from out of nowhere and how embarrassed he was, etc. For some reason, it scared the crap out of me. I was thinking, "What if it's true? What if you can just be talking and have random bs come flying out of your mouth inappropriately?" For the next year, if I was in some meeting and had to read any report of anything, I was concentrating like a mother-fucker to make sure nothing came out of my mouth that I didn't intend to. That's probably the solution for you, RA. | |

Now that happens to me too. On average about once every couple of weeks. I am watching out for that one though. Cap'n.
