Movie editing tool Does anyone know if it is somehow possible to add "bookmarks" to movies? So you can skip to certain parts of the movie like skipping to a chapter on a DVD?

I could be wrong and hope someone can correct me on this. I'd like to be able to do this myself. As far as I know, no media players have the ability to skip to keyframes. Even VLC, which is one of the most feature packed players out there doesn't do it. There are video editors that can set them and remove them but, at least in my mind, that really has no use if the media players can't make use of them. The only workaround I can think of would be to re-encode the movie, splitting it into separate scenes. Label each scene sequentially, then enqueue them in the player. You can then skip forward and backwards to whatever you want to watch. Sarcasm is a body's natural defense against stupidity.

Thanks for the suggestion! That's an interesting workaround indeed, if a little time-consuming. I might try that with some of my favorite scenes. The question that springs to my mind is: what good are keyframes when media players are unable to find them?
