SCAMS AND RIP-OFFS

I'm sure many of us have come across scams, rip-offs, and other unethical operators with porn sites. I want to make people aware of one I come across recently.
I joined a 3-day trial membership. It was a rubbish site, so I cancelled almost immediately. But upon joining, I was inundated with emails form other sites saying that I had a 3 day 'free' membership to their sites. But after 3 days, I would be billed for these sites. Not wishing to be billed multiples of US$30, I worked through them all and cancelled.
There was nothing in the site's terms and conditions about this kind of thing.
Now some of the sites did not acknowldge my cancellation, and the next month I found myself being billed for sites I had never heard of.
Fortunately, one the credit company has agreed to refund my money.
Can I name these sites?
And what experience other members had of these kinds of scams?
Can we compile a list (or submit the names to Khan) of sites and credit companies to at least be investigated?

I would post them in the Site Comments area - that's where I have posted issues like the difficulties in cancelling Private.com. Then the forum is also a place to post about unethical sites. And there's no need to be coy or defensive about it - name the fuckers!

Look, these sites have an obligation to be professional and straight-forward in their business practices. And if they are not professional and straight-forward in their business practices and have hidden "joins", then this is a great site to call them out - by name - and warn others that might get jammed up by these thieves.

Khan will let us know if we step over the line in doing so - but so long as we are posting accurate information about our experiences with the sites, then PornUsers.com administrators should have no reason to intervene in those posts.

I'm sure you can name the sites. This is just the sort of dodgy behaviour we need to be informed about. I think eventually this sort of thing will be made illegal, but credit card companies may put a stop to it anyway. They will have to spend so much time dealing with customers complaints, that it will cost them too much money to allow it to continue. It was posted on this forum that one credit card company has already banned pre checked cross selling already.

Years ago companies tried a similar sort of scam in this country. They would send unrequested items "on approval" like a set of encyclopaedias, which would become yours after a week if you did not send them back, and you would have to pay for them. This meant you had to take the time and trouble to return them and pay the postage - but not if you knew your rights. The law already had this covered.
Little old ladies were conned like this and it featured in newspapers and on tv. If people send you unrequested items, you have to keep them for a specified time. If you do not want them, the company has to collect them at their expense and in their time, otherwise they become yours. Soon nearly everyone got to know this law, and now hardly any dodgy companies try this scam. I remember one company trying the encyclopaedias thing with my parents. My parents repeated the law to them, and they came to collect them. Edited on Jan 29, 2009, 07:54am

This has come up in the forum before. I started a forum thread, and I was not the only one. You should name them and post a comment on the site listing.

The 'fuckers' as you put it are Naked Novices - this was the main sign-up site. Can't recall the names of the other sites; on of the credit companies actually reunded me when I complained.
Interestingly, the other review of Naked Novices gave similar comments and scrore to mine.
