I was away for a minute or else I would've replied.

Why do I like PU? Great topics and good conversation about something we all love but can't discuss in public: porn.

I assume we're dismissing celebrity sex tapes? The Pamela Anderson and Kim Kardashian sex tapes are the Titanic and Avatar of pornography, respectively.

Its hard to argue Debbie Does Dallas. Even people who have never watched porn have heard of that movie and the proliferation of "Does" movies to this day speaks to the power of that name.

Behind The Green Door had a legitimate Hollywood premiere, with mainstream stars in attendance and everything (the 70s were weird), but I think it's the kind of movie now that only porn nerds are aware of.

Historically, it might ultimately be Deep Throat because of its tangential connection to the Watergate scandal that ultimately took down a sitting US president. They'll be talking about that, and deepthroat by extension, for a long, long time.

In the book The Other Hollywood, they discuss how those seminal 70s porn films like Deep Throat and Green Door might well have been the highest grossing films in the country in the years they were released, if accurate accounting were considered (which is next to impossible because porn was still mobbed-up and prone to heavy corruption). In some cities, people actually waited in line to buy a ticket to see Deep Throat and those movies stayed in theaters (Pre-VHS) for almost a decade. Listen to Buried At Sea.

I actually do play some PC games, just not the ones that need a super-powerful graphics card, like:

The Banner Saga - an RPG Tactics game
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dJJQgma4OLs

Europa Universalis IV - A super-intricate, super-nerdy diplomacy game. Establish tax rates for your country, quell rebellions, open trade routes and negotiate the inevitable strife of a multi-cultural populous during the middle-century. The depth in this game is bananas and the learning curve is super sharp. I had to put 50 hours into a run-through game just to feel comfortable enough to play an "actual" game.

There are hours-long, multi-part how-to's on YouTube and it's STILL tough as fuck to learn properly:

Unfortunately, the sweet mods for Skyrim (and Grand Theft Auto) are only for PC and not for any commercial gaming consoles. As a console owner who doesn't PC game, it is incredibly frustrating. Especially for the graphics mods that make the game look truly beautiful and the VR-access. Listen to Buried At Sea.

Does it have to be a pornstar? I think Brigitte Nielsen showed her mettle in films like Red Sonja that she is both a fierce-as-fuck fighter and a stone-cold stunner in equal measure.

If we are sticking to the porn world, I think I would go with Jewels Jade; she's a hot gym rat who's ripped as fuck and (if her Twitter feed is any indication) knows her way around guns.

My favorite post-apocalyptic movies would be 28 Days Later (would that count?), The Omega Man and Mad Max: Fury Road. Listen to Buried At Sea.

I'll throw a short list of my recent favorites.

Red Dead Redemption GotY (played through 3 times).
Skyrim Legendary (over 500 hours on most recent character, which is my 6th character).
Bioshock series
GTA V (Xbox One edition)
Dragon Age Inquisition (PC)
Assassin's Creed series (My guilty pleasure series, love the historical figures and landscapes).
Fallout 3 GotY, New Vegas Ultimate and 4 (Haven't started 4 yet and refuse to read anything about it, but loved 3 and New Vegas)

I try not to play shooters too much, but like Toad, I have played and finished all of the Halo games. My one thing I avoid is online gaming. I was a huge Phantasy Star Online player back in the late 90s (Sega Dreamcast), but have never recovered from the online game burnout it caused me.

Skyrim is hands-down my all-time favorite RPG. I have logged in over 500 hours, as well, but just on one character.

May I also submit for all-time faves:
- Grant Theft Auto (the entire series)
- The Arkham series
- Tecmo Super Bowl
- The THQ wrestling games for the N64
- The Mass Effect trilogy (probably my most favorite gaming experience ever)
- Fallout 3
- Final Fantasy Tactics
- The EA Sports NHL games on the Genesis
- The FIFA series

I could keep going, but I'll stop (for now). Listen to Buried At Sea. Edited on Apr 20, 2016, 05:25am

You play Chell, a test subject that goes from test chamber to test chamber solving the path that will lead you to the exit. Controlling the tests is a computer software known as GLaDOS. halfway through the game you make a discovery about the GLaDOS and the facility that changes everything. a HAL 2000 situation is going on.

Portal is AMAZING. I bought the Orange Box for XBox 360 (a bundle of a few games for under 10 bucks) some years back and went into the game completely cold. I tooled around for a bit and had some fun. And then, as you noted, the real motivation of the game was revealed and I was hooked.

It got me thinking about how in this age I (and I think most people, too) know almost too much about a movie or game before diving in. A large amount of my excitement for that game came from A) knowing nothing about it and B) having to discover all of its wonderful secrets on my own. Listen to Buried At Sea.

Everyone has their tastes, but I must stand up and defend POV. Good POV, anyway. I will also say that camera clicking off-camera can be, though rarely is, hot in a sort of base, objectified way. But I agree in most cases it just comes off as both cheap and a misunderstanding of how porn is shot (videos and pictures are typically done separately).

As to the topic at hand, for me it's simply the poor production/editing mentioned previously, like hearing the director give instruction in a scene where the director is not supposed to be acknowledged, or shaky camera work. If the goal is to create a fantasy, things that disrupt that fantasy makes it all fall down like a house of cards. Other things include:

1. Bad acting - I mean BAD acting. We already set the bar pretty low for pornography on the acting front, but when some people fall below THAT there is no amount of viagra that will get it going for me. This also includes looking into the camera or completely dropping the pretext of the scene once the fucking starts.

2. Long ejaculation sequences - This goes back to the poor editing, but some directors think that people want to see a dude furiously masturbating in front of a bored woman's face for several, seemingly infinite number of minutes. It's particularly funny when they do an obvious cut or wipe, suggesting that the dude has been doing this forever.

BTW, these are all complaints from someone who has been embarrassed by the riches that porn has presented over the last 20 years, where you can seemingly get the EXACT thing you want in a scene. Previous to that, where getting your hands on a VHS that fit your specific taste or itch you had at that moment was a hell of a lot more complicated than people remember, I would've enjoyed black & white grainy footage of a honeymoon shot in the woods at midnight during the Eisenhower administration. The hard truth is if California did require condom/safety measures on porn sets, most of the big studios would simply relocate, probably to Nevada or Florida, where most adult performers live (outside of California, of course). Listen to Buried At Sea.

I think it's just another little "edge" that is added to your standard old/young porn that has seemingly risen in popularity since the emergence of MILF porn at the turn of the century. I think the step-siblings angle is just a natural evolution from that; it started with the fantasy of sleeping with My Friend's Hot Mom, then moved to My Hot StepMom to My Hot StepSister, for example. Now, interracial step pairings are popping up on sites, because why not add more niches to the formula? I'm sure step gangbangs are around the corner.

When you think about it, most porn (mainstream, anyway) glorifies what would be considered unethical/illegal/disturbing by society at-large; bosses sleeping with employees (sometimes under threat of termination), coaches/teachers sleeping with students, blackmailing people for sexual favors, voyeurism, etc. It's precisely because it's wrong that that little edge is added to what would otherwise be two random people having sex with one another. Another great example of this is on tube sites where a scene will be titled "Fucking My StepMom" and it's just an amateur vid of two people having sex, with no set-up or even dialogue. Just the title alone is enough for some people to buy into the fantasy.

Back in the 70s/early 80s, they didn't even mess with this whole "step" business; some movies and scenes were explicitly about families fucking each other. The genre is referred to as Taboo porn because of the very successful film series Taboo, where Kay Parker develops sexual feelings for her biological son.

The emergence of online porn, and the pressure of credit card companies on the major adult companies to not promote something that would be explicitly illegal in most, though not all, states, has led to that little quirk you see in these scenes where at least one character has to emphatically state that they are step or not blood-related. It's not unlike teen scenes where the girl/guy done up to look very young has to mention that they're 18 or just turned 18. Though in that instance there is a precedent for potential jail time (Max Hardcore) if someone presents a scene of simulated pedophilia. Listen to Buried At Sea. Edited on Mar 02, 2016, 09:25am

I smell a wacky sitcom with Larry Flynt and Hugh Hefner as two aging, retired ladies men whose lifestyles are totally opposite from one another.

Larry: "You rolled from the top of the toothpaste tube again!"

Hugh: "You left tire tracks on the carpet again!"

Larry: "Huuuuuuuugggghhhhhh!"

We are after all talking about porn where the women are the ones who make the money for the industry.

I checked some of their so called new provisions and I'm still scratching my head as to what those mean.

1-Escorting models to and from set.

2-Guarantee to provide private bathroom and showers.

3-An increase in check-ins with models after a shoot.

1. Not all provisions are reactive and perhaps this is a proactive measure. Several of the accusations against Deen detailed issues that occurred on-set between shooting scenes.

2. This probably means access to bathrooms/showers that are for one person only and not communal bathrooms that you would find in gyms/locker rooms. As a former armory, there are probably very few singular bathrooms on location.

3. This could mean an exit interview done after all shooting has completed.

I think these are motions by a company that completely understands that what they do, the content they shoot and the workplace environment that can result from that content, has a potential for serious issues to occur. I don't think it's a cure-all, but it is an honest attempt from a company looking to protect their employees.

I said already I'm not a fan of Kink's content, but some credit has to be given for trying to avoid further issues, whether it be to earnestly protect their performers or shield their corporate entity from potential lawsuits (I imagine its a combination of the two). Do you think Facial Abuse has protections like this in place when they shoot? Or Max Hardcore? Or Rocco Siffredi? Listen to Buried At Sea.

Kink appears to be making some wholesale changes to their Model Bill of Rights:

It's good to know that Kink continues to affirm themselves as a progressive company as it relates to performers rights. While I'm not really a fan of Kink sites, it's good to know some in the industry are actually doing something to prevent further issues from happening. Listen to Buried At Sea.

What were your favorite porn discoveries in 2015? It can be a performer, a site, a niche...anything that you were unaware of or didn't take an interest in until this year.

For me, my favorite discoveries were the site Blacked as well as the performers Jaylene Rio, Amy Anderrsen and all of the super-stacked pornstars. I think you can guess what my new favorite fetish was this year, too. Listen to Buried At Sea.

I certainly feel very specific types of porn can die out or become produced less and less. I started a thread on dead/inactive sites to speak to just that type of situation.

It reminds me of that scene in Boogie Knights where Jack Horner is told on New Year's Eve 1980 that videotape is the future of the industry and not film, which he refuses to accept. If you loved porn on film, the 1980s must have been awful for you. With that said, there was still porn being made that appealed to your sensibilities. Listen to Buried At Sea.

Powerful men want virginal but exotic women. It has always been this way. The problem with Ava Taylor is she gave that azz away to everyone. She did not handle her career properly. If she had gotten in good with the people from Wicked, Digital Playground or Vivid she could have had a 20+ year career only doing 10 shoots a year making 100k a year.

But instead she got sucked in and turned out as one of the faceless thousands do every year. As one of the faceless thousands it is VERY hard and VERY exceptional to have a long lasting career. You can almost name these actresses on one hand and most of them guess what, worked for Vivid, Wicked or Digital Playground at some point.

When a special girl comes along (Savannah, Sunny Lane) the danger is that they get involved with the wrong crowds. That they want too much to fast and do not take the reasonable approach. So they start making hundreds of videos and saturate the market with their material. Pretty soon supply meets demand and the phone calls they used to get every day dry up. Then they get desperate and start working in cheaper and unhealthy productions. Eventually turning to prostitution to earn a easy buck.

But it does not have to be this way. At least not for the special exceptional ones. The ladies who are dead fish and just look good are a dime a dozen. But the Nikita Denises could have had so much better of careers if they had played their cards right. Hot Girls wanted should have been called "The story of one dumb desperate ho". She made friends with a nobody who used her for profit then discarded her when she was not hot stuff anymore. This should be a lesson to ALL aspiring porn stars. Being a porn star is just like every other job. You have to network, you have to be political and you got to know who holds the real power and get in good with them. Isn't it better to blow one middle aged man and get 100K a year for 10 scenes rather than blowing half of Los Angeles and then being retired? Just my two cents on this whole conversation. I have a lot of respect for women but I respect them the way THEY want to be respected. Some want to be treated like a queen others like a degenerate. Hey what every gets you off lol. Am I right =).

I agree with your larger points. Look at someone like a Riley Reid, who has shaped her own persona (which is probably very, VERY close to who she actually is), has good management and will seemingly have a long career if she so chooses. I've been watching the slow rollout this year over her first interracial scene and her first anal scene you can tell that these were deliberate decisions that were held off for YEARS. In the hands of wrong management, or short sighted thinking (or both), she would've been doing interracial gangbangs six months into her career.

Then again, to make a sports analogy, there are only a handful of great/marketable NBA/NFL/MLB players. They're the ones that drive the revenue and bring people to the games. The rest are role players and roster fillers. Porn is no different, in my opinion. Listen to Buried At Sea.

The prequels got progressively better. I would say the final 20 minutes of Revenge Of The Sith (you know, the moment the entire 3-film, 7 hour trilogy is ostensibly building towards) are really bad ass, plus many of the fight sequences in all three films are very good. Listen to Buried At Sea.

While reading another thread, I came across some mentions for the dearly departed Pornstar Punishment. It got me thinking about what sites I loved that are now inactive or just completely gone from the internet.

Before they became the giant Reality Kings network, the company initially had a site called Nasty Cops that was shot like Cops, but of course featured the cops fucking around with the hot women they came across during their rounds (funny how that happens). The site has been dead for at least 10+ years but I still think of it from time to time.

Some other sites:
- Christina Model

- Kari Sweets (My GAWD was she hot)

Hello,

my friends call me Q, but my online name is TheBrickster. I have been watching some variation of porn since the 7th grade, when my nerdy friend was on BBS's and getting low-grade nude images of Pamela Anderson and the like.

I have the typical office job; I sit in front of a computer all day and communicate with people who aren't immediately in front of me. What's a man to do but break off some time throughout the day and look at something that is actually exciting?

I'm glad I found this forum because I can talk about the things I think about all of the time but can't easily share in open company (try asking at your next office party who's a better pounder, Ryan Madison or Pierre Woodman, and see their expressions. I've done it and let me tell you, it doesn't end well

Lurking for a bit, I see there are some true-blue people on here who know their shit and enjoy talking about it as much as I enjoy hearing about it. I'm glad to be on board. Listen to Buried At Sea.

With that said, I think Playboy only exists now based on the power of decades-long branding. There's a lot of value in that little rabbit logo and they will bleed it dry of every last cent before it's said and done. Listen to Buried At Sea.

I felt I had to start one. I won't be able to see it this weekend, but I will be seeing it soon.

Has anyone seen it yet? What did you think (no spoilers)?

I watched the first three to get back into the mood. Anyone else gone full Jedi? Listen to Buried At Sea.

Playboy made the decision to drop nude models when they found traffic to their site tripled when they removed from nudity from their main site (not Playboy Plus). Listen to Buried At Sea.

Maybe it's my computer, my internet connection or both, but I find streaming 4K videos to be effectively impossible.

When it does work, though, it is amazing. Listen to Buried At Sea.

Yeah, it's still taking some time to process it all. Not that he's the first male in the industry to have a terrible reputation (Max Hardcore, Rob Black) or have recently done something terrible to women on/off set (Mr Marcus having sex on camera knowing he has syphilis) . Listen to Buried At Sea.
