I know the survey wasn't up for too long and not that many people voted, but thank you for your feedback. Because things have been a bit slow - especially after the incredible number of reviews last month, I've decided to make a change that falls in the middle of the road. The Grand Prize cannot be won by the same person in two consecutive raffles in a row, but they remain in the running for 2nd and 3rd place prizes. The winners of 2nd and 3rd place prizes remain eligible for all prizes in the drawing immediately following their win. We will try this rule for a few drawings and see how it goes. Once again, I feel like we're going over old territory and this is why I waited to respond, but judging by the drop in reviews coming in - I should have known that the issue wouldn't simply go away. I appreciate that Tangub had been a member since 2010 (he disabled his account) and so with tenure comes a sense of perhaps both duty and entitlement to police other members. But in the end, approving reviews is my call to make (or another staff member's if I am away). And there is no need to call out other Porn Users for taking a different approach than your own. In fact, you should hold back anything other than constructive suggestions. Though we have general guidelines for reviews, if someone occasionally departs from those standards, I think it keeps things fresh. And so drdoug who had started to participate more recently wrote passionately about something important to him. The only thing I am super strict about is the minimum word count of 350. I was hoping with the departure of other PU members who also felt compelled to act as self-appointed review cops to avoid threads where people tear each other down. But times are tough and stress often gets misdirected. Alybator did nothing wrong back, but Tangub may not have realized that the rules changed a few years back regarding reviewing multiple channels on the same network. Please feel free to review any site with an active listing on TBP (except clones). On both The Best Porn and Rabbit's Reviews, we review entire networks in one big push with every working login. So why would it be different for someone on Porn Users who have paid for a membership that gives full-access to multiple sites? It's too bad that Tangub left, but even if some yearn for the good old days, it seems to me there has long been a cliche rather than a community. Here's the deal on the 2021 Raffles: Drawings will now be held the second week of each calendar month, so the next one will be held on February 10, 2021. Any entries earned during the suspension period will be included. After feedback from some Porn Users about the prize structure, we will change things up: 1st Prize: $300 2nd Prize: $200 3rd Prize: $100 What remains unchanged and I cannot restate this point enough, the raffle is a random drawing. Someone with fewer entries may win instead of someone with more. Still, those who contribute more still enjoy better odds when it comes to winning. But everyone stands some a chance! No one needs to worry that recent events, including some long-term members' departures, have gone unnoticed. I have noticed, as have their fellow Porn Users - whether or not they jumped on the bandwagon or not. People choosing to take such severe action requires me to take time for some serious reflection rather than resorting to an immediate reaction. Pausing and pondering is about more than careful contemplation. I will be away for several weeks - I am visiting my family and I feel I need to self-isolate before seeing them. Others may not agree, but my parents are elderly and that's what they and I feel comfortable doing. Someone will monitor Porn Users, but any changes will have to await my return. I had initially planned to run the next raffle for five weeks instead of four, so I'd be around for the drawing. But given that one of the issues for departing members was the raffle structure, I will simply suspend it for now. It'll most likely be back in the early part of 2021 - and if anyone writes reviews during the suspension, they will count toward the first new drawing. 2020 has been a challenging year for everyone. Though this recent development on Porn Users is yet another challenge, it's not all doom and gloom because up until recently, we had more engagement on the site and better numbers in terms of traffic. It also confirms what most of us have been already thinking - 2021 is bound to be better. Your contributions to this community have always been appreciated and I apologize wholeheartedly to anyone who feels otherwise. I am grateful any time someone helps me look at things from a different perspective. If it's too challenging to think outside the box, you should at least consider it from all sides. Sorry, I was away on vacation and someone else approved those reviews. But it remains my fault that when I retroactively went over what had been posted while I was gone, I messed up Pinkerton's points total. I do try to verify each person's points a final time before the actual drawing to catch any errors like that. I read over the review and I can see that even though the word "streaming" was used multiple times throughout with no mention of "downloads" at any point - somehow that might be asking someone to read between the lines. At least before the issue was highlighted at the top of the page as it clearly is now. However, as a rule of thumb, given that more and more sites are charging extra for downloads and other entries in the movie category are streaming-only sites: Downloadable videos are a major selling point and we tend to really emphasize them when they're available. As to your criticism of the IMPORTANT box added - I will change streaming to STREAMING because that seems crucial in your mind in terms of anyone noticing it. Otherwise, I can confirm after visiting the site and the linked VOD site - you can individually purchase some scenes for download. Nevertheless, I will remove that detail from the box because apparently, it remains confusing - after all, many people skim-read. The error reporting function does work - it prompted the change to the review. But because someone from Adult DVD Empire had already responded to you in February, it wasn't immediately clear that you were still unhappy with how things were handled. Hopefully, now, you will feel that this matter has been more thoroughly addressed. There was a mixup with someone writing a review based on the House of Taboo channel that appears on Kink.com rather than the full site. The person realized their mistake and asked me to delete it right away - which I did. But I want to address a question/comment from tangub, which isn't visible now that the review is deleted. Though House of Taboo is from the same people behind the DDF Network, it was always offered as a separate standalone membership and still is. It, unlike DDF, looks the same inside. After signing in myself, I can verify that there are 1,279 scenes (the Kink.com channel gives you just a sampling). The most recent HOT update is from early June, but that's presumably at least partially pandemic-related. Otherwise, comparing the current number to the last review done by our team (for Rabbit's Reviews in April 2019), they've added just under 30 videos in the last 14 months. Badges have been disabled - they have not functioned properly for years and new members had no way to earn them. The only way to level the playing field was to remove them. The same issue has existed with the points. Ideally, instead of zero, any mention of them would disappear entirely, but that isn't an option at present. I am in complete agreement that it would be preferable for both these features to be reinstated and fully functional - but for now I do not have the resources to make that happen. The message on sites is intentionally vague - as a business, we cannot burn bridges. There are plenty of temporary issues that can easily be resolved through dialogue. Domain names are valuable commodities and new management teams or new owners can often reinvigorate old sites. So we may resume linking to any that we feel has changed for the better. In this specific case, when you sign into Legal Porno, you are now redirected to a new members' area under the Porn Box domain. Even though we've been assured you get the same content and we are not questioning the validity of that statement, we know people are wary of redirecting domains. We would like to do a fresh listing/review of PornBox - but obviously, the LegalPorno has established traffic - so we're still waiting for the new domain to be submitted. It is in fact shuffled before I put it into the randomizer - I wanted it to be as random as possible, so it just made sense to me. One of the sorting options on Google Docs is to randomize a column rather than sorting A-Z or Z-A. So I always make sure to that before I cut and paste into the random site. I am sorry you feel that way - though I will admit I don't feel much shame that I don't spend much time policing the off-topic discussions on an adult message board. The comments are preapproved and it would be time consuming to manually check each one. But even without the cap locks, it's clear that you feel adamantly opposed to people discussing politics and others feel the same way, too. So ignoring rather than reacting to rightwing rants or rhetoric from any other wing for that matter isn't going to work for you. I will have to try to come up with a solution that doesn't require a lot of heavy monitoring or censorship. And in the meantime, I applaud Homegirl for playing the role of a diplomatic hostess at a fancy dinner party. I have had no luck, so far, finding where that red square ticket graphic you mentioned is housed in the back end to update how it looks. I did read through and approve the review and as much as mbaya is entitled to his opinion, it my decision to make. It would be odd to talk about a network site without mentioning the network, especially when the members' area is integrated and some usability features aren't site specific. I made it clear to mbaya that if a site is listed (with the exception of clones) and the system allows you to write a review, you can go ahead and do so. There have been a slew of rereviews from any number of members and I am sure there are others not following this old rule of one year. If the interface doesn't police against it, I am not going to play bad cop after the fact. The reality is the reviewers for both Rabbit's Reviews and The Best Porn end up doing updates on some of the same sites more than once a year depending on what pool of people are available when the work comes through. Yes, it is too bad that this site is no longer part of the content provider's actively promoted site portfolio. But their marketing team has chosen to have the site URL redirect to the network domain and tour - presumably because it attracts more new subscribers. This change doesn't come as a complete surprise because after updating only every other week in 2018 and posting just five scenes in 2019, there hasn't been an update in over a year. If you type "gapeland.com" into your browser, you are redirected to 21 Sextury with no specific Gapeland tour, so that's a fairly good indication that we won't review it separately. No problem with the "testing" post - I am guessing that you responded to my test post. Mine was to a deleted thread and that's why you got the page removed error. Sorry about that - but only threads can be deleted, there is no way to delete messages, even my own. There is no "admin" option for profiles - just staff.  My name is Tom, but you can go with Tommy or Thomas or even a more creative nickname, like PU Guru or PU-Ca-Choo. Okay, okay, "creative" doesn't have to mean "clever" necessarily, but whatever you decide to call me, I'm here to introduce myself as your community's new admin. Now, I know that I can never replace Freddie, but since she's gone off to have the travel adventure of a lifetime, someone has got to hold down the fort and that someone is me. I am now your go-to guy for all things PU-related. We've been on autopilot for the last while since Freddie's departure, but I will say that there had been some discussion of discontinuing the raffle before I agreed to take the reins. Nevertheless, I am happy to tell you that I think that I've come up with some ideas that will keep it going by breathing new life into it. Things still need to be finalized before I announce the details next week. But without giving away too much, it looks like you'll soon have a chance to win bigger prizes. There will probably be more ways to earn raffle entries - without making the rules too complicated for anyone, including me! And I also want to make the selection process as transparent as possible. After that teaser, I hope no one is panicking about things not being the same. Change can definitely be good (or, at least, not completely terrible, if you prefer to remain skeptical), even with some bumps along the way. One thing I know after prepping for my new role here at PU, you folks know how to keep it real and that's the best way to keep our community solid!
