Taking a good long look at the stuff I have downloaded the past few years (I got a new pc, so I had to organize everything), the common denominator I noticed about American porno is that it is now completely focused on the male. The slapping, the spitting, the violent sex positions,the caveman like hair pulling, the endless playing with their own dicks, every single video ending with the male pushing the girl away and gratifying himself complete with primal screaming as he masturbates once again for you the paying customer, the endless closeups of the males' faces, the angles that make it seem like you are pleasuring the male, the males' endless, pointless, banal chatter, and did I mention, the endless video coverage of males masturbating themselves, not to mention the males always wrecking the girls' appearances---their hair, their makeup, their dignity, I can't pay for this garbage any longer. I'm old I guess, let me set that straight. Is it just me, or are big fat asses on women in vogue in American porno? Browsing through sites, I seem to be seeing this trend more and more. Or is the "bottom" of the barrel being scraped? Nothing makes me run away faster. | |

Something I find curious is that the porn industry rarely, or never portrays the missionary position. They have something they call the missionary position, but it isn't. This illustration is the missionary position: http://www.icame.com/images/kama%20sutra/Missionary.jpg The man and woman are parallel to each other, the man's body is straight with his legs straight back,the woman's legs around the man's waist in the air in symmetry. The man and womanare face to face. The porn industry's "missionary position" have the man in an upright position perpendicular to the woman with his legs wide apart. The woman's legs are in 2 differnt positions, usually one up, and one to the side. There is no face to face contact. You may think my observation is trivial, but remember, you never see the true missionary position. It's like it's against the law. You have every position invented portrayed, some of them quite ugly and circus like. Some videos will run the gamut of positions---except the missionary. I wondered why this obsession against the missionary position? You used to see it all the time. I came to this conclusion: with the preponderance of "gonzo" porn, sex is portrayed as a sport. The missionary position is the only one that has face to face intimacy, and intimacy is the opposite of gonzo sex. The porn industry and the performers might feel uncomfortable with intimacy when they're fucking like animals. And of course, the image of every scene with the man jacking himself off onto the woman, instead of climaxing inside of her is one of individual gratification instead of mutual. therefore, the missionary position is anathema to the current porn scene. I joined Manojob today (thanks Denner, it is a good site) and I checked out the forum. There was a thread complaining about the hired guys playing with themselves, especially at the end of the scene. The webmaster (or he may have been the director) replied by saying that he has a hell of a time making these guys keep their hands off themselves! He said some of them just won't listen to him, and tell him they can't get off with a girl touching them!!! (yuck--a girl!) He basically went on to state that most of the guys in porn are really creepy! I suggested that he might try hiring straight guys! So this explains a lot---maybe it's not always the producers' fault. But they try over there, and it is a quality site. | |

What are your thoughts on the contemporary American porn scene? I was browsing through TBP's listings, and it seems to me that all American porn has been reduced to what I call Circus Sex. Crazy, fast and nasty. The guys act like sex offenders who escaped from State prison yesterday, the girls like the cheapest street corner hooker. The sex positions are ugly and all exactly the same...like a freak show. Lots of spitting, hands in the girl's mouth, stepping on her face, stretching her butthole so wide that a truck could drive through, the slapping, the gagging, the bile. The endless shots of men playing with themselves furiously like some pervert behind the bushes. Quite frankly, the girls are mostly unnatractive, even ugly, what with their multiple tattoos and piercings and terrible hair styles. WTF is up with this? Who is demanding the uglification of sex? Why are these companies giving us all this "zoo" sex? To whom is it being targeted? I've looked at porn for a long time, and American porn used to be the cream of the crop. Porn consumers are always insisting upon tolerance for our hobby. But when you demand tolerance, where do you draw the line in giving it? Do you guys think you could adjust your editing settings? Most boards will allow for a few minutes of editing before the "edited x days ago" message appears. This allows for the editing of simple typos that occur. | |

Some may find this thread useful. I'll begin with my opinions: Best: MPL Studios. I had a speed problem, they diagnosed and corrected quickly and friendly. Worst: Deep Throat Frenzy. Had problem acessing the site. They basically told me to go "F" myself. | |

Something that has bothered me about porn for many years is the body part closeup. I've seen photo sets where I have counted a dozen straight body part closeup photos, which is continued a few photos later. I've seen videos where the camera will zoom in as close as possible for a minute or so, zoom back for a few seconds, then zoom right back in. As far as I'm concerned, this may interest someone who doesn't know what a girl looks like naked, but I find it to be infantile. Someone here made a comment about this, and the webmaster wrote back sounding very surprised, as if he thought that's what people really wanted to see. Is that what you really want to see? | |

What do you think of people who use PU once to slam a site, and then never come back? This is not to say any criticism is unwarranted, but I have noticed recently quite a few people joining us to express their dissatisfaction with a site they joined, and then you never hear from them again. I know the anti-shill measures are in place to protect the average scores, but personally I would like to see "one review wonders" removed after a time. | |

I guess I'm getting old, but I have an affection for the old days. I saw my first porn in a XXX Theater. It starred the beautiful Annette Haven. My friend and I laughed at the dirty old men, and they did wear raincots LOL, but it was cool because it was underground. Someone here mentioned Marilyn Chambers, and she was quite famous, but unknown to the general public. And then videos came on the scene, and I collected my favorites like they were movie stars. I remember Traci Lords and Shauna Grant scandalizing middle America, one by being busted for performing at age 15, the other by blowing her brains out. It was all seen as seedy and disgusting. Those 2 events made a larger segment of the population aware of porn, and then came government intervention by way of the Meese commission which tried to make porn a crime again, but failed. And then came A.I.D.S. It didn't seem as if porn would survive all this scandal, much less become a bastion of capitalism as it has today. Everybody and his sister has seen porn now, and a lot of those sisters strive to be pornstars! With the internet's arrival, people have used the privacy of their homes to view porn, and did you know that something like 80% of women keep their porn surfing habits a secret? And did you know that the majority of online DVD porn purchases are by women? And did you know that porn is freely accessible to children, who need only click "yes, I'm 18", or use the debit card mommy gave them to access it? And that's not to mention the mammoth amount of free porn available online, a never ending stream really. So is all this a good thing? IMHO, American porn is gawd awful at this time, completely formulated. Even the strictly formulated sexual positioning would make a missionary bored! I search through the vast archives of TBP, and I see a lot of junk. Wal Mart porn. All the same. There are outstanding sites, but very few of them originate from the Valley Of the Porn. I also wonder if young people are imitating this crud in their personal relationships? Does little Johnny spend a romantic evening with his beloved by pulling his pud, and ejaculating in her eye while slapping her ass? Does he exclaim "fuck, yeah!" over and over while making love to the mother of his future children? It makes me cringe. The only good thing I can see out of all this is the opportunity a place like this affords me to communicate with others who share the hobby of collecting video girls! thanks guys! | |
