Today on Q (a CBC radio show) there was an interview with a woman named Diane Ford with a porn-related connection. The topic was the adoption of the .xxx domain. Anti-porn groups are opposed to it because they say it legitimizes porn, but porn companies are opposed too. I hadn’t thought of this, but the porn argument is that if you ghettoize porn into the xxx domain then it is easier to censor. According to the interviewee, and this makes a lot of sense, it is far easier to block sites based on what come to the right of the dot than it is to the left of the dot. It would simply be too easy to shut porn off.

The interview isn’t long (12 mins) and is worth listening to. Just google “CBC Q” and you’ll get it. It’s on ITunes too.

Not relevant to anything, but since this show, Q, came on the air I really tried hard to hate it. It hasn’t worked. The host is an excellent interviewer. But… I detected a different tone with him in this interview. Like he was trying not to support the porn industry. (He’s a 30-something guy, so he knows porn) I’m going to email him and point this out. I’ll keep you informed if I get a reply.

Like most of you, I have a few porn ‘interests.’ Probably several hundred of them. I should probably seek treatment.

But I just realized that I have a new interest. After watching several DVDs in the “Big Wet Asses” series, and several in the “Milk Nymphos” series, I realize that seeing women have oil or milk poured on them is a new ‘interest.’

Can anyone point me to a site or sites where this may be available? There is one baby oil site listed here but no reviews. When I search water, I get mostly ‘watersports’ sites, which, while one of my other interests, isn’t what I’m looking for now.

Any advice?

I was thinking of joining 21Sextury network finally. Most reviews are positive and they seem to have a lot of stuff that I’d be interested in seeing. I also like that the webmaster is active here in responding to questions and comments. That’s a good sign that they treat customers well.

But in reading RustyJ’s recent review of Teen Bitch Club I’ve learned that there are now three separate networks: 21Sextury, 21Sextreme and Bonus Sites. All seem to be completely separate with separate memberships.

Can an current members confirm whether these three networks are completely separate? If, for example, I want Anal Teen Angels (on the 21Sextury site), Teach Me Fisting (on the 21Sextreme site, and Daily Sex Dose (on the Bonus Sites site) that I’d have to subscribe to all three networks. Or if I make this a long term membership do I get access to all the site eventually like was done in the past with 21Sextury.

Any help and advice will be greatly appreciated.

I’ve been watching a bunch of PPV titles at Adult Empire.com (the VOD/PPV site, not the one that’s been delisted here). There are tons of titles available for a 24 hour viewing rental for just $1.99. But… I went looking to watch some of the “Pickup Lines” series from Silverstone Video, and got a big surprise. The options for all Silverstone titles are the same as most of the other studios, but the prices are fucking unreal. A 24 hour PPV stream that most studios charge $1.99 for, Silverstone (or Adult Empire.com) wants $20.23. WTF??? You can also buy downloads, most of which cost between $14.00 and $25.99. Some are DRM protected and some aren’t. But Silverstone (or Adult Empire.com) again sets the mark – they want $44.95 for a download. That seems insane for a title that old that should probably be in a bargain bin.

I’m assuming that the pricing problem is with the studio, but am I wrong on that? Is it possible that Adult Empire.com is setting the price that high? This is a possibility because AEBN has the title too and they only charge $5 for a 48 hour rental.

Anyone have any idea why a studio or site would price those titles so far out of the normal range? Is it simple vanity in thinking that they’re product is so much better than everything else? Is it that they don’t give a rat’s ass about selling those titles on the internet?

Any ideas?

I’m a bit of a Luddite when it comes to computer stuff, so bear with me on this one…

I’m thinking of buying a netbook but wonder if it will be disappointing for use as a porn viewer. I realize that the netbook’s claim to fame is as a small, lightweight computer used primarily for surfing the ‘net. While I would certainly use it for some ‘net surfing it wouldn’t be my primary computer for downloading porn. I’ll stick to my desktop and hard-wired internet connection for that.

As a porn computer, most of the time it would be hooked to a monitor or TV. I’m assuming that these things have a VGA port. Do they?

Once I’ve got it hooked up to a monitor or TV I’d then plug in an external drive with WMV porn on it. Does a netbook have the power to run Windows Media Player or does it have to have some other player? Does it play video files well enough? Can it handle HD?

Is there a plug-in for a set of speakers? Is the audio any good?

All of my collection is catalogued in a Word file. Are Word documents accessible or would I need to upgrade?

If I wanted to add some software (Power DVD, for example) could I just plug in an external DVD drive and install it?

I realize that these are all really basic questions, but I just don’t know the answers. I suspect that the vast majority of netbook owners just use it to access social media sites, but would it have the ability to serve as a decent computer for viewing porn?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

I'm not really sure what I'm asking here, so maybe an explanation is better:

I have a few favorite porn stars who just seem too cute to be in porn. Looking at them they look like they'd be more likely to have a regular job and settle down than to be in the porn business.

And to make it even more strange, three of those models that come to mind also do some pretty raw hardcore. For earlier stuff (I'm a big fan of 1990s and early 2000s stuff) Inari Vachs just seems like someone who you'd see married and working a day job. Same with Jasmine Lynn. She just seems so... normal. And for a modern example, I'd point to Aubrey Addams. She seems like the cute girl who lives down the street with her parents and goes to college. But all three of these girls even do anal.

I guess to contrast these girls with models who seem 'born for porn' I'd compare them to models like Vanessa Lane, Amber Rayne or Tiffany Holiday.

I realize that this is a highly subjective topic, but do you have any favorites who are 'too pretty for porn'?

Little Lord WTF's post about erotic literature got me thinking about the intersection of books and porn. I haven't read fiction in a long time, but I read a lot of non-fiction instead.

Does anyone know of any decent non-fiction books about the porn business?

And before you dismiss this by thinking "Jeez, seeing that clip of Amber Rayne run the bases at Fenway with a baseball bat up her ass has finally sent him off the deep end" there really is such a thing as a non-fiction porn book.

The only one I've read (and I'd HIGHLY recommend it) is "Prisoner of X: 20 years in the Hole at Hustler Magazine" by Allan MacDonell. It's a great read by the guy who rose to editor of Hustler magazine back when magazines ruled the porn world.

Can anyone recommend any others?

And if there really is a video of Amber Rayne running the bases at Fenway with a baseball bat in her ass, please send me the link.

For me it was Adult Check, which I joined about 13 or 14 years ago. I stayed a member for several years. I started with them when I had a dial-up connection, which worked reasonably well because at the time they were pretty much only pics or very small videos. I see they're still around, and they appear to work on the same principle of being a clearing house for a lot of other smaller sites.

Anyone else remember their first?

I’ll admit right off that my sample is really limited: I check out sites reviewed by the reviewers at TBP and by you at PU, but it seems that the average monthly subscription price is up a bit. I used to think $19.95 was the typical rate, but it seems that $24.95 is a lot more common now for a site with exclusive content.

Am I just basing this on a small sample, or are prices on the way up?

Here in the land of holy-fuck-it’s-cold-and-fuck-me-if-it-isn’t-snowing-again, otherwise known as Canada, ISPs really seem to get their jollies by imposing bandwidth caps. One of the biggest in the country, Rogers Telecommunications, imposes some caps and then charges (I think) $4 per GB of data used above the cap.

I’m not a techie, but I can’t imagine that in any warped world that a GB of data bandwidth is worth anywhere near that. My completely uneducated guess would be that a GB of bandwidth might actually cost the ISP a couple of cents. I realize that they may try to argue for high infrastructure costs, but charging for additional bandwidth doesn’t resolve that. And I’m sure it has absolutely nothing with the fact that this company is one of the largest cable providers and they don’t want to lose those customers to online viewing.

I realize that a lot can factor in to your consideration, but generally how long between when you download the last byte you want from a site until you’re pulling out your credit card again?

For me, I try not to overdo it, but I usually have a new site in mind as I’m wrapping up the current one. Most times I’ll try to hold off for a couple of weeks and spend some quality time with what I just downloaded, but admittedly, I’m as successful at this as the times growing up as a Catholic kid that I tried to give up porn for Lent. Usually with an hour or two of Mass on Ash Wednesday I’d be climbing the walls and have to dig out my collection of Hustler and Penthouse magazines. For the forty days of Lent, I don’t think I ever held out from porn for more than forty minutes. What I’m saying, I guess, is that with porn I don’t have a lot of willpower so I usually take a new membership pretty quickly after I’m done with the current one.

Anyone more impulsive or more selective than that?

Yes, I know that I can be accused of having some strange interests, but I'm not being judgmental here. I'm just raising this simply bacause it never occured to me that someone would create a site like this. But I'll be the first to say that this is pretty much 100% my fault for lacking imagination.

TBP recently reviewed a site called Underwatershow.com. It seems to have a pretty single-minded purpose: show nude women swimming as captured by an underwater camera.

Here's one piece of copy on the website:

Welcome to the wonderful underwater erotic world, a special place on the web for all lovers of the submerged female forms. The water reveals the real beauty of the woman's body. Girls are like hovering in zero gravity state. When they swim by the camera you'll be ready to dive into the screen and swim together with them.

I'd be lying if I said that this doesn't intrigue me at all. If the fee was less than $29.99 I might be writing a review right now instead of wondering about this niche.

Anyone else ever find a site and think, hmmmmm... never thought of that before, but it might be interesting...

Back in October graymane started a thread here wondering if we might see a trend in girls publically auctioning off their virginity. I figured that this was unlikely, and frankly thought the whole prospect a bit weird. (I don't mean to say that I found the thread weird, but the prospect of virginity going to the highest bidder a bit weird. Perhaps if I were independently wealthy my outlook would change.)

After posting my comments I gave it no further thought... until I checked my email today and see that Kink Live is hosting a live 'deflowering.' Yup... on January 15, 2011 at Kink Live anyone who is interested can whip out their credit card and watch the deed. I've been a member of several Kink sites at multiple times in the past few years, but Kink Live isn't one of them. But if it is anything like their sites that I am familiar with, the quality will be first-rate.

I have to say that I find the whole thing strangely arousing. I'm surprised that I feel this way. If I was able to, I think I'd sit in on this one.

To be fair, the model, Nikki Blue, is a virgin in the technical sense. She says her hymen in in place, and from what I read at Kink Live, they plan to show that it is as she says it is. The thing that lowers the creepy factor on this is that she isn't some recent high school graduate who has maybe given a few handjobs and blowjobs in her short sexual life. Nikki Blue seems to be in control and has done phone sex, video and picture shoots for Kink, and also live solo BDSM stuff too. She's used dildos on her ass, but never on her pussy. To preserve the market value, no doubt.

The setup seems pretty unique too, in that there will be three possible guys and the viewers will choose who gets the job.

If you're interested, there is an 8 min HD video of an interview with Nikki Blue about what she's about to do. I'm not sure if I can directly link to the page or not (here goes... http://news.behindkink.com/blog/ ) but if not, just go to Kink and look for "Behind Kink." The link is posted there.

I don’t understand the financial workings of the internet. But I don’t understand a lot of things and I manage okay. Women, TV and automatic transmissions are just a few of those things. (I live for the first, tolerate the second, and avoid the last at all costs…)

But I have a theory about how sites like TBP make money and I’m wondering if I’m anywhere near correct.

My theory is this: if I go to a site that I see listed on TBP / PU then TBP /PU gets a bit of a kickback – a finder’s fee. It may be even more if I join a site through TBP.

Based on my theory, I only join porn sites through TBP. I take a one-month membership to Videobox twice a year and I don’t type “Videobox” into Google. I make it a point to go to TBP and join through them.

When I use VOD sites like HotMovies, Sugar VOD and Adult DVD Empire I do something similar. If there is a title I want to rent I go to IAFD and search it there and link through them assuming that IAFD gets a taste of the deal.

So am I right? Do sites like TBP and VOD sites get paid when I use them to spend money on porn?

I joined Brain Pass / PornStar Network a couple of weeks ago. I had not joined earlier because a friend (and registered but not active PU member) had warned me that over half of the content was inaccessible without paying a further $30 fee. I joined on the strength of a TBP review that said the issue no longer existed because the site now gave full access to people who joined through TBP. The problem is that there was a glitch and I didn’t have full access. So I was screwed over by an unethical site again, right? Wrong. Much to my very pleasant surprise the webmasters at Brain Pass / PornStar Network took the issue very seriously and resolved the problem, keeping me informed the whole time. The staff at TBP were also involved and gave some excellent assistance and even contacted the webmasters too. Their issue was probably more general in that they had told people that there was a great value when joining through TBP and wanted to make sure that they weren’t steering people wrong.

I’m a cynic by nature and suspect that probably 90% of the people running porn websites don’t give a rat’s ass about customer satisfaction. I read reviews and comments here all the time that support that notion. Brain Pass / PornStar Network isn’t one of those sites: they worked to resolve the issue and keep their word that TBP users would have full access.

I’ll write a review soon, but my experience means that they’ve gone from being a really great site to being an excellent site. My friend and fellow PU has been informed of the change and encouraged to join again. I hope he does.

Finally, this was a perfect example of how great a site that TBP is. I honestly think that the Brain Pass / PornStar Network would have resolved this issue anyway, but it felt better knowing that the TBP gang was in my corner.

Thank you to all of you who made this a really positive experience.

And the rest of you? If you like DVD sites with a great mix of exclusive stuff, get your ass to Brain Pass / PornStar Network. That's an order from the Admiral.

I’ve had a membership for a couple of weeks and I joined after reading that the membership issues had been resolved. The issue, as you may know, is that BP/PSN has a tiered membership that requires an additional membership within the site. The review at TBP states that when you join through TBP/PU you get a discounted price and full access to the extra stuff. I joined through TBP and I haven’t had access to the extra yet. The webmaster replied to one of my comments and said it would be resolved, but it hasn’t been. They say that I’m the only person with this problem.

Are any other PornUsers current members of this site? If so, are you able to access the extra “Moviez” DVDs?

Last night I was telling a friend that I bought my wife one of those single-cup automatic coffee makers. I explained that I bought her the Tassimo brand because it reads the bar code and probably does nothing with that information... but she'll be impressed. I contrasted that with the other major manufacturer, which I said was Karup. My friend, who knows I have a porn habit, looked at me funny. After calling the brand Karup several times I realized and admitted that the brand was actually Keurig, and that Karup was a porn site. Doh!

The worst that happened though was when I went into a bookstore looking for a specific title. The middle-aged lady took me to where it was located and handed me the softcover version. I asked her if she had it in hardcore. I don't know who turned more red.

Anyone else have these issues?

Am I right in assuming that a huge majority of business for companies like CCBill and Epoch is porn driven? I buy a lot of stuff over the internet and have never seen anyone other than a porn site use a billing company.

The reason I was thinking about this is that I was just on CCBill to cancel a membership and the portal that linked into information for consumers had a picture of an attractive lass in jeans and a plaid sweater vest. Unless I'm waaaaay off the mark on what the average porn customer looks like, then these billing services must do some legitimate business too.

So what other uses are there for internet billing companies? Or should I just randomly approach late-20s women in jeans and sweater vests and ask if they too think that Videobox isn't posting enough anal videos?

I haven't had an active porn membership for over a week now, and that's a record for me. The problem is that I can't find anything that I want to join. I've been looking at 21Sextury but I'm not willing to take the plunge just yet because of some unanswered questions. Do any of you have any advice on these?

1) has the pricing model changed yet or has the site said when the pricing model will change? The current (or former) pricing model requires a three month stay to get access to all the sites, but there is talk that they will have some new packages available in November.

2) If the three-tiered pricing model is still in effect, does anyone know which 25 sites you get access to in the first month? What is added in month 2 and then in month 3? I can't find that information anywhere and I'd be pissed to find that I was required to wait two months to get access to the one or two sites that I really want.

Most reviewers seem to like this network, but it seems really odd to me that they don't simply charge more and give full access.

BaDoink (a site I'd never heard of) was the subject of a "What's Hot" review at The Best Porn. The review answers a lot of questions, but I'm wondering if anyone at PU has any experience with the site. Are there a lot of unique DVDs or is the same stuff available at Videobox? Is the proprietary software user friendly? Would you recommend the site?

On a related note, if I owned a site that might potentially be some real competition for Videobox, I think I'd sell it a bit better. There is no way to see what the content is. There is one page that has a testimonial video from Eva Angelina and the other links take you directly to the sign-up page. Why on earth would a webmaster not realize that people may want to see what you have to offer? Videobox (and the late and lamented American Vice) allow potential customers to browse through the entire site and see what's on offer. Nothing is hidden. BaDoink seems to expect potential customers to take a leap of faith. It'd be like buying a car and having none of your questions answered until you hand over the cash. "What size engine does it have? What's the fuel mileage like? How about safety features?" Sir, once you buy the car all that will be revealed. Please sign here."

I’m still trying to recover from the hatred tossed at me when I mentioned “girl-girl,” “milk” and “enema” in the same sentence. If I hit a nerve with this post, please don’t bother with the flaming. Just don’t ask about strange fetishes if you’re hoping for “MILFs wearing wooly sweaters praying the rosary in a mahogany-lined chapel.”

My thought for this post came about when I saw a recent addition to Videobox which was part of the “Shorty Mac’n Your Daughter” series, produced (presumably) by the male porn star Shorty Mac. I watched a couple of scenes, and what struck me is this guy seems to have porn backwards. Or maybe I do. He seemed to be the “star” and the girl was the window dressing. Unless I discover that I’m really a closeted gay guy attracted to short guys, I think this is a marketing flaw. But I might be wrong. (About the marketing. I’m pretty sure that any latent lust for short men would have revealed itself by now if it existed…)

To me, porn is about women. A guy has as much status in a porn scene as the couch, bed or pheasant farm where the scene is filmed. For me, the scene is all about her: her expressions and reactions. Her orgasm. The guy is furniture. Do your job, do it well and shut the fuck up. Your orgasms is necessary as hardcore, but only for her (positive) reaction to it.

But… there are lots of male porn stars who have featured themselves prominently in titles: Sean Michaels, Joey Silvera, John Stagliano, Peter North and Ron Jeremy. But with them, they seem to get that they may be the producers, directors and cast, but the women are still the stars. Take Peter North; he has several series with his name, several websites, but he never seems to try to upstage his female co-star(s). He seems to realize that the women are the draw. (And in a bit of irony, I happen to be over-nighting in Peter’s home town of Halifax tonight.)

But there seems to be a shift: guys seem to be starting video and web series that are about them, and how they fuck women. Is this just a shift in our move to a culture where the only sin is anonymity? Facebook, Twitter, etc allow users to create a universe where they’re the center and that’s the reason for the male-centred porn. (Anything with “bus” in the title seems to illustrate my point.)

I think this is new in porn. I’ve watched a lot of porn over the past 25 years and haven’t really encountered it. But now, there seems to be a trend to guys making porn about themselves. I’m all for free expression, but I’ll watch Aubrey Addams any day over Shorty Mac.

And finally, as a tribute to his one-man, but female oriented videos, I say that when he dies (of a ripe old age) we ask that Randy Spears donate his hair to the Smithsonian.

I may have failed to heed Chief Wiggum’s advice to Mayor Quimby and written a check that my butt can’t cash. But luckily there’s nothing riding on it.

I was having a conversation recently with a fellow porn fan and I made a statement about the ‘demographics’ of porn. The problem is that the statement I made was nothing more than a hunch. To make matters worse, it was a hunch that I really know nothing about. Or at least I know nothing about half the comparison I made.

I made the statement that porn is a youth driven industry. Yes, many porn titles have nothing to do with suggesting age, but many do. I made the statement that for every title that gives the impression that the models are mature there are probably 20+ titles that give the impression of young-but-legal models. (I’m thinking terms like MILF, mature, mommy versus teen, babysitter, schoolgirl, cheerleader, etc.)

But am I right? The problem that I have is that I know nothing about MILF porn but I know a lot about young-but-legal porn. Off the top of my head I started thinking of series names that suggest youthfulness and many came to mind with ease. Titles like Almost Jailbait, Anal Teen Tryouts, The Babysitter, My Favorite Babysitter, Backdoor Teens, Dream Teens, Eight Teen Tryouts, Extreme Teen, Hi Teen Club, Naughty Little Nymphos, Rated T for Teen, Teen Meat, Teen Patrol, Teen Pink and 18, Teen Tryout Auditions, Teen Worship, Teens for Cash, Terrible Teens, Barely Legal, Extreme Schoolgirls, Fresh Outta High School, School Bus Girls Brats. And those are just the SERIES names I can think of.

I can’t think of any MILF titles so I consulted my vast collection and what did I find? One title – and it is Teen MILF 3. Doh!

So do youth-themed porn flicks outnumber mature-oriented flicks by a huge factor or am I just blowing smoke here?

(And pointing out that I’m a sick pervert will just be expressing the obvious…)

I’m a big fan of anal sex scenes, but that should be no surprise to anyone who reads my reviews. One of my sub-fetishes regarding anal is tracking down scenes where models who don’t normally do anal do one or two anal scenes or maybe start anal late in their careers. Examples are April Flowers, Felix Vicious and Sunny Lane. These aren’t the anal queens like Taylor Rain or Audrey Hollander.

Can anyone steer me in the direction of some other models have only done a few anal scenes or do anal only rarely?

Thanks!

I noticed the site called 18XGirls listed on the “What’s Hot” list over at The Best Porn on August 9, 2010. A review is pending. Based on the previews at the site I joined, even though it is obviously a small site. It has some fresh looking models and I wanted to see more.

But… the site isn’t delivering what’s promised. The site promised downloadable videos and hi-res photos. Neither appear to be there right now. There are links on the model’s pages where you can link to a download of the video (in wmv or mp4 formats) and a link on the photo pages to download a zip file of the hi-res photos. None (as in NONE, ZERO, NADA) of those links work. Not a fucking one of them. You can stream the videos (low res only it seems) and you can download the individual pictures but the resolution is very low.

I emailed the website to report the issue and I’ll report if they tell me anything, but for now, I recommend waiting.

I’m hoping that the site isn’t a scam, and I don’t think it is. There are two bonus sites that seem to work, and since TPB is preparing a review I hope they wouldn’t sit on a bad review of a potential scam. And I hope TPB wouldn’t put something on the “What’s Hot” list if there were suspicions of a scam.

I’ll keep you posted, but for now keep your… um… wallets in your pants.

I know this issue has been discussed in the past a bit, but something brought this question forward for me today.

I’m in Toronto, the self-described cultural capital of English-speaking Canada. Considering that I’m from a Canadian province with a population smaller than some Toronto suburbs, this city’s 2.5 million people make it seem pretty large. I’m a regular here, but I’m still always very happy to get home. But that’s not a discussion for this site…

I popped in to one of the larger (and couples-friendly) adult boutiques (see, “boutiques” makes it sound so much nicer!) and on one floor they have a huge collection of DVDs for sale. All of the ones I looked at were priced at $39.99 CDN, or approximately $37 USD. All of the titles I looked at are widely available on the internet.

Unless someone has been living under a rock or is completely devoid of any technical ability, how could anyone justify paying that price for a DVD? Many of the DVDs I looked at are available on sites like Videobox, which makes them a great deal. I’d bet that any of them are available on a VOD site for far less than $40.

Any idea who is still buying DVDs? I ask this not knowing the answer. I’m not asking this as a rhetorical question. I honestly have no idea why a store would dedicate an entire floor to adult DVDs and sell them for $40. Someone has to be buying them.

Any thoughts?

BTW – not that this is a topic for this forum, but in terms of price, value, looks, safety – any measure you can think of, Toronto escorts have to be among the absolute best on the planet. Whether you agree or disagree, please send money. I guarantee you that it will be going to a good cause… ‘stimulating’ the economy. I’d go broke if I was here longer than a few days.

I recently upgraded my internet connection to a 10MB/sec fiber-op system. That’s the basic available with this ISP and they currently have services of up to 70MB/sec available and are planning up to 170MB/sec within a year. I don’t use the internet for much. For me, my computer is one big porn magazine that lets me also read newspapers from around the world. I’ve never found a porn site that allows greater than 2MB/sec download. What on earth would someone do with a 70 or even 170 MB/sec connection? What kind of sites and what kind of material is available at those speeds?

I just took a membership to Porn.com. I downloaded two scenes and had no problems. The downloads speeds were approximately 1MB/sec. Then I tried a third scene (several times), then a fourth (several times) and a fifth (several times)... And the best I could get for a download speed was about 100kb/sec. On several attempts the download speeds was BELOW 20kb/sec.

Reviewers are all over the map with this site, and even the long-time PU reviewers seem mixed.

Any thoughts, or should I have saved my $9.99?

So my wife has been watching this inane show called “The Bachelorette.” For those of you blissfully unaware of it and its premise, 25 sociopaths vie for the opportunity to marry a young, attractive woman. As the series progresses she gets to eliminate some of her suitors. The whole premise is twisted reality TV crap.

So… why not make it a one-show series where these obviously-lying goons court the young lady, thereby hooking in the female viewers, and then conclude the show with an all-anal, 25 guy gang bang? I think that’s something I could watch. I’d even sit through the chick-friendly stuff.

I know that there are bound to be variations in what guys like, but it seems to me that most men would be genetically predisposed to be attracted to the most fertile of ladies. Removing the exceptions of people who are attracted to extremely large women or the elderly, does that mean that there may be a near ‘universal’ woman? With allowances for some cultural variations, of course.

Or maybe I’m just blowing smoke up my own ass on this. It seems that this may have even changed over time and probably based on external conditions. If paintings are to be believed, the Rubenesque woman may have had quite a following in some places in the 16th and 17th Centuries. Today we’d know her as a BBW. Maybe a full-figured woman back then was a better indicator of fertility since she had more access to food that her skinny peasant sisters lacked. That seems reasonable.

But it seems to me, based on nothing more than a vast experience of porn (which I assume is driven by what people want) and asking friends, that there are some at least cultural universal traits. Young (18-30 depending on the age of the guy being asked) seems near universal. Thin seems to be a common desire. Not necessarily athletic thin, but not carrying around a bunch of extra weight either. And this is something that I can’t quantify, but most attractive women seem to have “softer” more feminine features.

Arguing against me on this is the fact that there are so many variations on preference. I like women on the petite side of things where some guys like 6’ tall women. Skin color matters for some people. Breast size seems to be a polarizing feature too. I’d add ass size to that. I love a small, firm bum, but I know that many prefer a girl with “back.”

So are there any female features or attributes that a big majority of us would see as indicating beauty in a woman?

BTW – I thought of this at lunch a couple of days ago when I met a woman who, it seemed to me, would be attractive to all the male population who weren’t 100% gay or hooked up to life-support systems in a hospital. She was about 22, blonde, petite, maybe 5’2” to 5’4”. Thin but not skinny, but not overly athletic looking, breast size is proportional and her cup size was probably a B. She seems to have nice legs and, for me as an ass-man, her bum is a masterpiece – tight and firm looking. Mmmmmmm...

Last weekend the Jules Jordan site was listed in the “What’s Hot” section at The Best Porn. I check out every site that they list there but I couldn’t get this one to load. I tried again just now, a week later, and the site still doesn’t load. Anyone else experienced this or is it just me? If it isn’t just me, it doesn’t say much for the site.

I know this is a polarizing debate here and on many websites and I have no intention of reopening the same debate. I just wondered about a specific detail on breast size and implants.

I recall many years ago that a friend of mine went to see a stripper in Montreal who was famous for having enormous implants. These things, as I recall from the Polaroid photo he paid to have taken with her, were probably a bit bigger than basketballs. And she otherwise looked like a woman with normal proportions. They looked awful. But he was fascinated by them.

So are there breast-men out there who are really into extra-large breasts? Yes, I realize that the stripper in Montreal was more revered for her sideshow-like boobs than her femininity, but for those of you who like large breasts (either real or fake, and I realize that these are often different groups) is there such a thing as being too large? In the interest of honesty, I LOVE small breasts and I’m not sure how I’d respond to someone who asked me if there was a possibility of a woman’s breasts being too small. Maybe, but probably not.

And as an aside, I’m thinking of forming a group for men who are opposed to breast implants. My proposal is that we take a page from the anti-abortion crowd. We picket clinics where breast implants are done and try to persuade the girls that they are making a terrible, immoral choice and that every breast, no matter how small, is a loved breast. We can push for a constitutional amendment banning breast implants. Anyone in?

When Max Hardcore gets out of jail, will he simply move to Europe and pick up where he left off?

Or is this even possible? I haven’t followed the case too closely, but would the feds have seized all his material or can the U.S. government just seize the copyright? It seems to me that Max could pretty much get back in business mere days after getting out of prison if he wanted. Probably within a short period of time he could be producing new stuff again. Of course he’d never be able to go home for Christmas again, but maybe he could have Christmas dinner with Roman Polanski.

Any thoughts on what Max may or would even be able to do? Or has his time in the sun faded now with no chance of a comeback?

About two months ago I developed this new infatuation with Veronica Jett. Sure, she’s exactly what I look for in a model: petite, small-breasted, young, out-going, and likes anal. But for the longest while I simply noted her in passing and went on looking for other models. I don’t know why my opinion changed, but now I’m on the hunt for more Veronica.

Pretty much the same thing with Hailey Young. I never paid too much attention to her until I saw her in an episode of American Gokkun and realized how nasty she can be. Since them I’ve been busy adding as much Hailey to my harddrive as I can find.

This contrasts with other models who the first time I saw them it was lust at first sight. Tammi Ann in Max Hardcore’s The Hitchhiker, Inari Vachs in Whack Attack, Taylor Rain in Just Over 18 3, Jenna Haze in Just Over 18 2, Teagan Presley in Cum Drippers 6. Each of these scenes is burned in my memory and spurred me on to find as much of their material as I could.

So has this ever happened to you? Have you ever “discovered” a new favorite porn star who had been right in front of you the whole time?

This is the first time that this has happened to me in the many years of downloading porn: I can’t find any sites that I want to join. It isn’t time for me to join Video Box again yet (with some recent changes and a reduction in anal themed movies a membership there is only worthwhile once a year). It isn’t time to join American Vice again either. They are very high quality but only update once a year. I’ve been through several public nudity sites recently and many of those don’t update regularly so there is no reason to go back this soon. I spent some time at FTV Girls and looked at a lot of that. (A very impressive site.) Same with ALS Scan and ALS Angels. I’m not big into sites like these but I really liked these and recognize the effort that goes into them. I’ve had recent memberships to several of my favorite Kink.com websites so there aren’t yet enough updates to justify going back just yet. I even tried some strange sites like Ass Smoothie and Swirly Girls to see what they were like.

So here I sit with no active memberships. This is very unusual. Does anyone have any suggestions that they can make? I like DVD sites like Video Box and American Vice but I find that many of them obviously share the same material. I say I don’t like solo / softcore stuff, but every time I get a membership to a site like ALS Angels, ALS Scan or FTV Girls I really like it, so maybe I’m just denying it to myself. (And I still think that Brooke Skye was the best looking girl on the internet when here site was live and updating…) I had a membership to Nubiles maybe five years ago and that was good. There was a bit of hardcore on there and according to reviews there is more now. Having an anal and ass fixation might make a membership at Ass Traffic a good bet since I haven’t had one in over five years, but I prefer U.S. porn. That isn’t being anti-European, it’s just that I like to be able to locate more material of a girl I like and sometimes that’s hard with European sites who change the names of the models.

Yes, I know that this is a highly personalized choice, but does anyone have any suggestions? Please help! VISA will call soon and ask if I died or found religion.

I was thinking about this the other day when I was at TPB and was looking in the “What’s Hot Archive.” One of the sites featured there was Bel Ami Online. The photo in the link was of a person sitting on a kitchen counter. I didn’t look closely, but I assumed that the person in the photo was a skinny, semi-goth-like, short-haired, A-cup, trailer-trashy woman. Just my kind! So I clicked on the link and discovered that the person in the photo was a guy. Oops. Bel Ami Online turns out to be an Eastern European gay site. I’m into small breasts, which these guys obviously have, but they lack the curves and lady bits that I’m pretty partial to.

So due to this mistake I checked to see how many gay sites are reviewed here at PU and was surprised to see that there aren’t many. There are only four sites reviewed here by us PU-ers. This is contrasted with 45 transsexual sites. Maybe I’m making a mistake comparing those two categories. I can’t claim to understand either interest but I’m happy to share space with them. (I also noted that even below gay sites are cheerleader sites. There are no cheerleader site reviews on PU! What’s up with that? I’ll have to see about finding some cheerleader sites and posting some reviews. Mmmmm… cheerleaders…)

So this got me to wondering where the gay PU members are. I don’t ever recall seeing a gay review here and I’m not sure how I’d react. But there is nothing about this site that says any member has to review straight sites only. Are we unwelcoming? Would a gay person drop in here and figure that we don’t want them? Maybe we don’t, I don’t know. This contrasts starkly with TPB which reviews gay sites.

I’m not saying I’d like to see PU flooded with gay reviews (nor would I want to see it flooded with fat-chick site reviews either…) but where are our gay and lesbian brothers and sisters? (I guess the lesbian crowd would probably not want to hang out here, notwithstanding all the great reviews of porn featuring all types of women. I’m sure we’re a little too heavy on the testosterone for them.)

Any thoughts?

I have no experience with this since my ISP has never imposed limits on the amount of data I bring down every month. But... I've heard that it could be coming soon.

Is capping your allowable monthly downloading a common thing in the industry? It just seems like a big money grab to me. The argument that they're making is that it is in the interests of fairness. If you have a kid who is stealing movies who downloads 200GB a month that causes everyone else to have a slower service. That's their argument.

It seems to me that if you have a decent download speed then you could use up your limit pretty quick. My wife has discovered watching TV shows online, and with my downloading "hobby" we could have some trouble - and big bills.

Anyone else have any experience with this? I should point out that I'm in Canada so I don't know if this is a trend in the U.S., Asia and Europe too

Yeah, I know that it is boring, but the adult industry has produced a short PSA on the veils of piracy. It's interesting to see some stars in their "natural" state. And the message is important too.

I found it at this link (though I'm not sure how to post links in the forum...

I stumbled on a short video clip of Eden Adams doing some public nudity. The clip is available on many sites and is usually labeled "Eden Adams Playing Around in Public." None of the sites list where the original source is for this clip. Can anyone offer any insight? Is it from a DVD or is it from a website? Anyone know a title? I'd like to source the original.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks!

BTW - I would have linked the clip but I didn't for 2 reasons: 1) I don't know how, and 2) I don't want to direct anyone to a site that gives away pirated porn (and not all the sites that have this clip appear to be pirated stuff).

I think most of us here find this annoying since it seems to be raised as a ‘con’ in many reviews. A site has various scenes available for download but the complete scene is broken down into several smaller files. Why do sites do this? If it is a 100MB scene and they break it down into 4 25MB pieces, aren’t the vast majority of users going to download every piece for the complete scene? So the bandwidth for the site is no different is it? Surely there can’t be that many low-speed internet users still around that the sites are making it easier for them.

Thoughts?

Questions about portable harddrives usually generate a lot of discussion here. Western Digital seems to be a common brand with a lot of people liking them and some not. I have 7 in total where I store my collection and have never had a problem. My question is specific though: does anyone here have any experience with a new WD drive with the hardware-based encryption? How does it work? Is it relatively easy to use? Does it make the drive run a lot slower? Is there a problem running video off the drive with the encryption? Is the interface easy to use?

Thanks for any advice and assistance.

I’ll have the opportunity to upgrade to a fiber-optic internet connection (right to the house, not just to a node) within a month. I’m not too tech savvy but I suspect that download speeds are based on what the servers at the other end are able to provide. Do any of you at PU have any experience with fiber-optic internet and how do you find most porn sites for speed when they may be the slower link? The available speed options are for 20, 35 and 60 Mbit services. Would going with 35 or 60 just be a waste of money if most websites can’t support it?

Most of us have at least heard of sites like Little April and Little Summer, etc. Some have been reviewed here. Does anyone know of similar sites that are newer? The obvious problems with some of the older sites like April’s and Summer’s are that they are no longer updating and the video quality is absolute shit. I'm looking to find a site with similar content that has some newer material in a video size that is reasonable.

Any tips or advice will be appreciated.

Maybe I’m outing myself as a bit of an obsessive person, (or maybe I’m just bored and want to start a conversation thread…) but do you have any porn scenes that have stuck in your memory? For good and/or bad.

For me, there are a few:

Lauryl Canyon in “Candy’s Little Sister Sugar.” This was a 1988 title that I saw probably in 1990. Canyon does a scene with John Leslie and at one point they’re on a couch and she’s riding him reverse cowgirl and her body is just rock hard. Yes, she had implants which I’d normally hate, but they worked here. For some reason (and in no small part that porn was hard to come by here in 1990 so seeing ANY porn was a treat) this scene stuck in my head all these years. A couple of years ago I happened to find the DVD in a bargain bin. The scene still seems pretty good.

Tammi Ann in “Hitchhiker 1”. This scene started two trends for me. I was amazed by Tammi Ann and got as much of her stuff as I could find, and I became a Max Hardcore fan too. Back in 1993 this scene really pushed the limits, with a bit of gagging. It’s tame by today’s standards and very tame by what was to come later from Max Hardcore. Like most of her work, Tammi Ann brought her ‘A’ game to this performance. She remains one of my favorite porn stars of all time.

Heather St. Clair in “Buttman’s Wet Dream.” This 1994 title was back when gonzo was still interesting and John Stagliano (Buttman) was one of the creators of the genre and he did it well. I had never seen this woman before, and she isn’t really what I’d look for with her bottle blonde hair and implants, but they worked well for her. She does a scene (that is set up as an audition) with Tom Byron and Steven St. Croix. Her body is amazing and Stagliano shows it off well. This scene started a collection of Heather’s work. I recently bought this title again at Adult DVD Empire and it also can hold its own still.

Inari Vachs in “Whack Attack 1 – Butt Fuckin’ Frenzy.” This was the first time I ever saw Inari Vachs and on the strength of this scene alone I became a fan. This scene also made me a fan of Tom Byron’s style of gonzo. Inari is playful in the scene and really seems to be enjoying herself. But the same can be said for a lot of her work. I think I can safely say that if I was forced to name a favorite scene of all time this would probably be it.

Taylor Rain in “Just Over 18 3.” This is a 2002 title right around the time when Rain first entered the business. She’s young and fresh but her ability to be a star is clearly evident. I was impressed and have been a fan ever since. This scene is also part of the bonus material on Red Light District’s “1 Night in Paris.”

Speaking of “1 Night in Paris,” an honorable mention has to go to Teagan Presley for her bonus scene. The original scene is from Cum Drippers 6. Teagan is fairly new to the business when this was filmed and she looks it. She’s got the looks and attitude of the sexy-girl-next-door. Too bad she ruined all of that by going for the over-the-top glamour look with implants.

Not that I can spot a trend in the small sample above, but all the models in the scenes that stick in my memory are young and thin at the time the scene was shot. Most have small breasts, and with the exception of the Lauryl Canyon scene, all are anal.

So do you have any favorites that are etched in your memory?

My wife comes home from gorcery shopping last night and as I'm helping her put stuff away I noticed that the brand of baby carrots that she bought were "Bunny Luv" brand! And to make matters better, the bag boasts that they are "ready to eat." Damn right Bunny Luv would be ready to eat.

For those of us of a certain vintage, I'm sure there are positive memories of Ms. Luv when she worked in front of the camera. She didn't do a lot of b/g stuff, but I sat through many a lesbian scene just to watch her.

So now as I'm crunching my way through the whole bag my wife is wondering why the hell I'm eating so many carrots and sitting smiling like an idiot. I suspect, however, that Ms. Luv would be less crunchy. And less orange. But this is my fantasy...

Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think so ï¿¿ there always seems to be a porn 'It' Girl. Sheï¿¿s the model who makes the sales ring up when she's on the cover. She's the girl that seems to define the standard for a while. She's obviously good looking, but often her 'It' status is defined by other things like her intensity on camera.

My porn viewing isnï¿¿t up to date. I'm probably still stuck in 2008 or so since Iï¿¿ve spent a lot of my porn time recently in tracking down movies from the early to mid nineties.

Some girls who definitely had the 'It' status for a while were Aurora Snow, Taylor Rain and Jenna Haze. Certainly Jenna Jameson had/has it, but that may be more marketing than fan buzz. Some who may have had it (but maybe it was just my infatuation with them that made it seem that way) are Amber Rayne (who could still have it), Gauge, Inari Vachs and Tammi Ann.

So is there a current 'It' girl? My guess would be that Sasha Grey would qualify, but since I'm not up on the latest talent she may have already started to fade (I hope notï¿¿!).

As a matter of interest and opinion, who was the greatest 'It' girl we never had? In other words, who should have had that buzz but didn't quite make it? Edited by Staff on Oct 22, 2014, 02:30pm (Khan: patched font)

For the first time in a long time I stopped in to an adult DVD shop (remember those?). One video that I noticed was titled "Put Your Hand in My Ass" by a studio called Sweet Pictures. The cover showed a picture of Julie Night being anally fisted. I'm not up on the advances in this area of porn, but the last word I remember is when Adam Glasser (aka Seymore Butts) was charged with obscenity for showing vaginal fisting in Tampa Tushy Fest. I'm making the assumption that this is a 'Made in the USA" movie because Julie Night and others are from the U.S., but this could be a European studio.

Does anyone know if showing fisting in the U.S. is now legal?

(I should also add, just in the interest of clarity, that I saw this DVD in a shop in eastern Canada. Canadian obscenity law tends to be more strict than in the U.S, so I can't imagine that it is now legal in Canada and not in the U.S.)

And I'm looking at you, FTV Girls and Hustler... The rest of you know who you are too.

I have this fantasy that maybe someday there will be the perfect website. Everything will be done right: content, ease of use, download speeds. But the little things matter too. I just ended a membership with Hustler and found this trait annoying, and I'm into my first-ever membership with FTV Girls. That trait? Naming every goddamn file on your site the same name. Do you know how many video files on FTV are named "o1w"? I don't know, but I'm guessing that it is in the thousands. Downloading from the site is so much harder since I have to create folders and sub-folders as I go along. Sub-folders are necessary since a model with 6 shoots will have 6 files named o1w, o2w, o3w, etc.

Does it detract from the quality? No. Does it impact download speeds? No. Does it show a bit of laziness? Yes. Other websites can manage, like Videobox and American Vice. Think of it as a little way to mprove your relationship with customers.

I've searched the forums for variations on the word 'target' and came up dry. I know I've read something about this here, but I can't find it now.

I was thinking of joining FTV for the first time. I was doing my due dilgence and read all the reviews here and then jumped over to TPB and noted that they have a warning that FTV may use geo-targeted pricing. I can guess what it mean - it would seem that the price charged may depend on where I live. But what good does that do them? Does that mean that people in third-world countries can but porn cheaper than those of us in more affluent countries? Is it some kind of a scam that I should be aware of?

Any advice would be great.

And if you have any experience with FTV I'd like to hear about that too.

Thanks all...
M

Anyone have experience with devices that allow you to play files on a TV? I know that there are several out there. I'm only aware of the one that Western Digital makes. (Type WD TV in your search engine if you aren't aware of them) My issue is that although the list of supported file types seems extensive, most of them (including the WD TV) only support version 9 of WMV and no earlier versions. Using mediainfo (thanks to GCode for the tip on that) I found that only about 25% of my near-2TB collection will play on one of these. I'm not about to spend the months converting everytyhing.

Does anyone have any experience with these things? If so, how has the experience been? Do you have compatibility problems?

Finally, why would the companies that manufacture these things only make them compatible with WMV9 and not earlier versions too? Is it cost? Do they have to pay to licence the code?

Thanks

I found this link and thought it might be of some interest here, and not just to those of us from Canada. The site is a Canadian page for an anti-censorship group. The reason I raise it is that this page has information going back several years on all the porn videos that have been barred from being allowed in the country. No big surprise, but when looking at the older stuff (say 5 years old and older) it appears that not much from Max Hardcore or Jeff Steward made it into Canada. (In Canada, material that is deemed to have a "dominant characteristic of which is the undue exploitation of sex, or of sex and any one or more of the following subjects, namely, crime, horror, cruelty and violence, shall be deemed to be obscene.") This information is hard to find on the Canada Customs and Revenue Agency website, so it is nice to find it in one easy-to-access location.

I think several things make it interesting. One is certainly how pervasive censorship is here in Canada. Obviously if, in 2004, I had ordered a Max Hardcore DVD from a U.S. distributor I'd be very unlikely to ever receive it. (And wouldn't you love to be a fly on the wall as these guys watched this stuff!) The second is that sometimes you see listed something that never seemed that bad. I've seen a lot of the videos listed and many of them aren't bad. But then I'd guess that the censors would hardly see me, or any of us, as worthy of being the moral safeguard for an entire nation.

The third thing that I noticed, and I may be wrong, is that there seems to be a drop in the number of titles from the larger porn studios in more recent years. You see Diabolic, Extreme Associates, J.M. Productions, and the like being regularly banned a few years ago. My perception (and I didn't count the number of titles so I may be wrong) is that fewer of those titles are being banned now. Or, more accurately, fewer are being stopped at the border. I think that if my perception is accurate this signals a shift in porn that most of us have seen coming steadily for the past while: porn is fast becoming an internet business. Several years ago if I wanted a decent copy of Gag Factor 5 I had to order it and physically have it shipped to me. Now, if I want that title I dig out my credit card and download it from a reputable site. No moral-minority censors need view it and tell me that I can't.

I guess I'm not sure what my point is here. I started out with the premise that this was an interesting database for people with an interest in porn, but I think I'm now working on the premise that unless a government wants to seriously crack down on the internet like North Korea does, then maybe censorship is pointless now. Maybe border guards could be taken off this important task of stopping a consenting adult from buying a DVD from a consenting adult that shows other consenting adults doing something that the Baptist Women's Tea Cozy Society doesn't like. Maybe they'd have to do more mundane things like weed out terrorists.

In the meantime, maybe I'll go download something from the Gag Factor series. If the border guards don't like it, I'll guess that I would.

The site is Gomorrahy.com
