I hope I'm not violating any rules... Before I list the following on eBay and since there's been interest in the subject, I'm selling my storage and backup system. I am relocating outside the US and can only take a limited amount of stuff with me. Very sadly, the system must go. It is less than 2 years old. The system consists of two 4-bay enclosures and 6 hard drives totaling 40TB. I found it ideal for storage and complete backups. Total cost (at today's prices, or what everything is selling for now) was $1578. Please PM if you are interested or have questions. | |

It seems we are on the brink of change once again. Ever since the Stone Age when man carved images of naked women in rocks, change in porn medium has been a constant. In my relatively short time on this planet, I have seen a number of changes: from "dirty" magazines and books wrapped in plastic to 8mm movies to VCRs and DVDs to the Internet. The Internet no longer provides a profit motive for the adult industry. It's easy to cast blame, though technology is most likely the culprit. What's next? Social media sites? Augmented / virtual reality? Artificial intelligence? | |

This may be sacrilegious. I confess, I watch Pornhub. There, I said it. Over the past few months, I probably watched PH more than any of the paid for collection that I’ve amassed. The monetary savings is irrelevant to me. I hadn’t joined a site in months. I had no desire to. But then an offer from New Sensations came along and I figured what the heck. I was instantly bored. I downloaded a few dozen videos and stopped. I can’t watch this stuff any more; I’m bored to tears. I know PH and free tube sites are frowned upon here cuz they are supposedly hijacking material from legitimate sites. Can someone convince me that’s the case? I find it difficult to believe that they are able to get away with it if they do, particularly such a well-known site as PH. I’m guessing that they either buy clips or it’s given to them to promote those sites. Hence, my moral justification. Or are my assumptions incorrect? Second, I watch PH because it contains a bunch of atypical stuff. There’s lots of diversity on PH and much that can’t be found on any sites I know of. I hate to sing the praises of PH because the people that run it are idiots, but at this point, it’s the best option for me. Am I a bad person?  | |

I emailed Amanda about a concern that this board is losing focus and stands to lose the harmonious feel that has made it unique. After sending it, I decided to post it here, publicly. No need to hide. Hopefully, even if you disagree, it will be taken in the positive spirit intended. Here is what I sent, or a reasonable facsimile: Far be it from me to complain -). I feel the forum is no place for political discussions and it's taking away from the focus, porn. There are plenty of other sites for such things. I hate to see the forum turn into a fiasco. More than anything, I believe the board will lose the friendliness and camaraderie that has made it unique. Or PU can set aside an area like other sites such as "not porn-related" to discuss politics or anything under the sun. My 2 cents. | |

It’s that time of year to take stock of the good, bad and notable events of the past year. My mind wandered off into the past as I was waiting on line, that is, one of the lines, at Murray’s Bagels for bagels and lox. It must have been a year since I visited, mainly because of the long wait and chaotic system. I was, at first, pleasantly surprised to learn things had changed. They used to have an interesting checkout system. First, stand in a long line to place your order and get a ticket. Then, stand in another line to pay for your order. Then, wait for your number to be called to pick up. Visiting Japanese tourists would become so confused they’d fall to the floor sobbing. The system has now been streamlined to two lines. However, you get out no faster. A classic NY mystery. So far, I’ve written 17 reviews in 2017. Only 2 sites merited scores 90 or above, one scoring a 94. I probably gave the high scores cuz I was thrilled that the sites were not like the kajillion cookie-cutter sites that proliferate the Internet. Frankly, most porn bores me. It wasn’t always like this. Perhaps because the market wasn’t saturated? I want so much to be thrilled and titillated like the good ol’ days. I wonder, have I simply grown old and jaded? What brought this to mind was the most recent review on PU (as of this writing) - mbaya’s review of the Japanese site, Staxxx. To digress a bit, this was a fantastic review; probably the biggest thrill I get from porn these days. That is, reading informative reviews by the handful of PU members that choose to contribute. I have a fascination with Asian / Japanese porn and probably would have joined Staxxx if I knew about it. After reading mbaya’s review though, fuggedaboutit. Mbaya’s review made me think though… in the past, I would avoid censored Japanese sites. Nowadays, I’m beginning to rethink this. The censored sites seem to be so much different and exciting (if you use your imagination) compared to the uncensored ones seemingly aimed at the European and American markets. Btw, if you haven’t read mbaya’s review, Staxx is not censored but in mbaya’s view, “I have seen more interesting Japanese porn sites.” I’ve come to implicitly trust his reviews. As I previously mentioned in the forum, I lost most of my porn collection several months ago when 2 of my HD drives suddenly died at the same time. No backup. While it was upsetting, I surprised myself by taking it in stride. After all, I rarely watched the older stuff any longer. I’ve since rebuilt my collection. I just recently re-downloaded what was once my favorite site, Trike Patrol, a Filipina reality site. I was going to write a review but didn’t realize I had written a review less than 2 years ago and raved about the site. What planet was I on?! However, truth be told, it still is one of my favorite sites but I disagree now with so much of the praise I gave it. I’ve become quite fussy about video quality, camera work, obnoxious male actors, blah blah. Perhaps I’ll write another review rebutting my previous one! Odds are, I’ll probably watch much of the porn I recently downloaded one time only, if that much. Do I sound worn-out? All this leads me to my question. Sorry to put you through the above rant just to ask - name an example of a perfect or near-perfect site? If you have none, what qualities must a perfect site include? I’m still struggling with this. | |

The technology has been around a few years now and has hopefully matured. I'm looking to get started and could use suggestions on equipment. Yes, there's been threads, but I was hoping to get the latest dirt. I'm mostly ignorant about this stuff and I apologize in advance for stoopid questions. I have a Mac. From what I can see the equipment is somewhat proprietary. It seems Oculus is only compatible with Windows. Any thoughts - mid end to high end gear? For those who have been immersed in the VR world, is it worth it? | |

No, I'm not talking about that dumb TV show. I mentioned elsewhere that I was blacklisted from using sites with Vendo as the CC processor. I found out when I tried to join WOW. I assumed it was cuz I disputed a charge. I was correct. However, I requested that they reconsider and let me join, and below is the response. Mind you, this was early on in my video collecting career and I was not accustomed to pre-checked cross sales. I remember getting billed full price for the sites I left pre-checked. I let it go past the trial period because I wasn't aware I had joined. Vendo refused to waive any of the charges. If I had to do things differently today, I wouldn't. I would still dispute the charge. I find this practice deceptive and among the biggest transgressions of porn sites. The difference today is that I am much more vigilant about checking for such deception before joining any site. I'm fairly certain that agreeing to their request is meaningless. Besides, the odds of my getting screwed again by a pre-checked cross sale are minimal since I am on guard. As mentioned elsewhere, I lost the majority of my collection to drives that went bad. Stupid me had no backup. Whatever, what's done is done. I still have 4TB of older stuff (about 2 years), but lost 8TB which included all my newer stuff. So, where to begin building up my collection again? I can't decide. One thing I'm not interested in is joining a supermarket network that has bland stuff just to build up my collection. I know what I like and wanna stick with it. And that is mostly ethnic (Asian, Latina and some European) and nothing remotely connected to the likes of San Fernando. Feel free to pop in with suggestions! | |

It's time for a new computer, a new iMac. I'm wondering if I should upgrade storage or leave it as is. I presently have four 4TB Sata drives in a docking station connected via USB 3.0. As you may know, the new iMac offers much faster connections, but I wonder how important that is except when transferring files. Any thoughts? | |

I was wondering if we could compile a list of trusted and non-trusted processors. Or perhaps grade them. Such a list would have come in handy before I just joined a site using a particular processor. There seems to be universal agreement that Epoch and CCBill are the best processors. I know I've come across other processors which are basically okay and others that are not, but I can't remember which ones. | |

Sorry to step on toes, but... I wonder about these reviews. I can't say that I've looked at that many and I might be off base, but my experience has not been as nearly as positive as the reviews on these sites purport. I find them unreliable at best. I hate to say it, but I believe these are not truly independent reviews and need to be taken with a big grain of salt. I suppose what finally made up my mind was joining an off-the-wall site which got decent reviews by these review sites. That site could be among the worst sites I ever visited in most every respect. I understand reviews can be subjective. But jeez, the site is filled with clips, many under 1 minute. Quality is piss poor with almost every video coming in at 480. And upload dates are definitely fishy. They have uploads purportedly as recently as today. I don't believe it. And the best for last... one video had a xhamster logo on it. Can someone explain how overall review ratings are calculated? It seems simple enough and maybe I'm dense. Japan HDV has an overall PU rating of 90.3. However, the rating from one active review is 88 (mine) and the TBP rating is 80. Apparently, there's another factor I'm missing for this to make sense. | |

Hi Staff, The following problem has existed ever since I've been a member and I've seen others mention it. However, I'm a little confused. After posting something, in this case in the user forum, I got an error message. But the post appears to be there. However, when looking at the home page in the user forum, it doesn't show me as being the last one to post - as if I never posted. This has happened a bunch of times. I have to think the message (or when applicable, review or comment) is not appearing because I've never gotten a response to any of these phantom posts. Specifically, for the moment I'm referring to a thread I began, "Japan erotica." I had this issue when replying to iknowwhazzup. Can you tell me if it actually posted? I've got a few moments so I'll bore you and pontificate a bit on this subject, not that I'm an expert. What are your likes and dislikes when it comes to the land of the rising sun? Like it or not, it's vastly different than any other porn. That alone is a plus in my book. Admittedly, there is much I dislike or can only take in small doses. Stuff I'm mostly not crazy about... A caveat though - it is likely much of the videos are aimed at a western audience since there is no censorship. And one of the sites has English subtitles. On the same token, much of the porn has become westernized, though it's a minority. On the plus side of that is that I've come across more one-on-one anal scenes than any other JAV site, not that there are very many. Also rare, another favorite - FFM scenes which are truly FFM - it is rare to see the women in such scenes getting it on and is not truly FFM in my book. My motivation in deciding to join a network site is generally based on the quality of all of the network sites taken as a whole, not individual sites. For example, I'd have no problem joining a small site, i.e., 25 videos with no updating, as long as there were more sites available. I'm guessing most people think alike. As it happens, I recently joined a site having no idea that I'd have access to all the network sites. I hit pay dirt, in my book anyway, in that there are several sites on the network which are fantastic and I did not expect access to them. As an aside, none of these sites have been reviewed on TBP. The dilemma. My thought is to do a review of the network as a whole and not one of each site. In the review, I'd review the main points of each site but not as comprehensive as if it was a standalone review of each site. This seems to go against the customary on PU where reviews are seemingly done of individual sites, not networks. Again, the point in doing a network review instead of a number of site reviews is that the decision to join, at least mine, is generally based on the quality of the network as a whole, not one site. This is getting too long-winded and perhaps I'm overthinking it. Any thoughts? [Btw, I am amazed that none of the sites or the network has been reviewed here.] | |

Unless I misunderstood, it was mentioned somewhere here that using a prepaid card when joining a site prevented recurring charges. Is that true? Even if there is enough available on the card to cover the recurring charge? There seems to be only a handful of reputable credit card processors. I find myself not joining sites that aren't using a such a processor. I would like not to worry about such things as I'm sure we all would. If the above is true, is there a recommended card? I never used a prepaid card. | |

Do any truly exist or are they all fake? I doubt there are any "real" American reality sites due to prohibitive laws. [If that's not an oxymoron, I don't know what is.] However, several sites outside the US seem truly real. I wonder though. I'm specifically thinking of Czech Casting. Any thoughts? There are several Asian sites which I reviewed which I believe aren't fake, at least not completely. These mostly belong to the VD network, Trike Patrol, Tuk Tuk and Asian Diary. There are a few others but the quality is beyond awful. It's a popular genre and one I like, but the vast majority are too phony baloney to even attempt to use one's imagination. | |

It seems I don't like virtually anything in the way of videos any more. Not that I don't like porn, though almost every site leaves me yawning. It's like, been there done that. The purpose of this rant is to ask for suggestions. If you want to suggest I take up a new hobby, that's fair. I don't like the vast majority of stuff on the mega sites, those with the huge networks. I don't like the Cali stuff. I find all of that stuff is generally lacking in excitement and originality. I don't care how young or old the models are. On the other end of the spectrum, I don't like extreme gonzo stuff, i.e., Kink, Rocco S., Evil Angel, etc. I hate sites with tat'd wimmin. What used to be my favorite sites I now find a bore. That is, the Asian reality sites owned by Video Dream, i.e., Tuk Tuk, Trike Patrol, etc. They do have potential but every scene is the same. They need an infusion of new blood in the way of actors and camera men/women. Surprisingly, what I did like lately is a site I joined because of a Skeet pre-check, bastids. I stupidly got pissed off over $1.10 [!!] and had Epoch refund my money. Dumb move. However, they left my trial open for a day and I ended up downloading a few videos. What a weird site. It has 3 genres - casting, teens and Japanese. What a combo. They're all somewhat bizarre but with young and good looking women. It's bang.com - I couldn't find a mention of it anywhere. Then again, it's hard to google - you can imagine what you come up with when googling bang.com. Try it. I guess I'll fork over the $20 and give them a shot out of desperation. In any event, I'm not leaving you much of a clue in order to give me a recommendation - I can mostly only say what I don't like and that seems all-encompassing. Sigh. | |

This is one of those questions I felt was too dumb to ask. However, I'll discard my ego for sake of sanity. I never used a downloader mostly cuz I can't figure them out. However, I'm having lots of problems using my browser, Chrome. I intermittently only get partial downloads and it's starting to happen more frequently. Verizon FIOS suggested I try a downloader and a different browser. I use a Mac if that matters. Can someone offer suggestions? Like, recommending a downloader and a browser? And not to push my luck, give brief instructions on how to use it? stoopid jook | |

I’m starting to feel guilty about subscribing to amateur Asian sites, particularly the Vegas Dreamworks (VD) sites. Among others, they own Trike Patrol, a site I once said was my favorite site. I now believe they are exploitative even though the actors are “willing” participants. It could be argued that if VD didn’t put out these videos, the girls would find other ways to make money in the sex trade. It’s estimated that Thailand alone has 800,000 women that work in the trade. That’s an astounding number. But is that a viable excuse? I particularly have mixed feelings after seeing some of the videos on TukTuk Patrol, another VD Thai site, sort of Trike Patrol’s sister site. Trike Patrol takes place mostly in the Philippines. It was readily obvious that at least some, if not most, of these women were doing the videos because they had little choice. The video that prompted these thoughts was one that I found heartbreaking. It was of a Thai girl who had to get permission from her mother before making the scene. She got permission apparently. And honestly, she didn’t look 18. If one is to believe the story lines in the VD videos, no ID is checked. No condoms are ever used. The actors boast of their conquests. I don’t want to pontificate because I’m just as guilty as the next guy. I have supported these sites by subscribing and writing reviews. And by extension, PU supports these sites, or at least the VD sites, by listing them. But I’m considering changing my ways and boycotting VD and other similar studios. Am I missing something? Is this not inherently wrong? | |

What uncensored sites are recommended? I read a bunch of PU reviews and most sites seem to be censored or have some other issue. I'm not looking for a cookie cutter site. I commented in a recent review that the site has a policy of no condoms. The scenes and participants are mostly in Asia. Am I missing something, or is this lunacy? Sorry for the length of this, but the following has been bothering me since I became a member. It is meant to be helpful. And don't get me wrong; I love this site. I will leave names out, but there was a recent review by a noobie which got a very critical response, though a well thought out response. Methinks the criticism was a tad harsh and could have been stated more tactfully, even though I agree with many of the points made in the criticism. A number of you write stupendous reviews and I am a grateful beneficiary. Experience with this site as well as a good industry background is necessary to write outstanding or even knowledgeable reviews. An innate ability to write is also helpful. But do we want to scare other users from reviewing because they don't possess these qualities? Even some of the "seasoned reviewers" start to sound repetitious and sometimes it seems the review is generic. However, the thought never occurred to me to criticize any review since the reviewer probably spend oodles of time writing the review. I recall my first reviews and comments on the forum. Admittedly, they sucked. But my motive was pure - to give back to the site that opened a new world to me. My reviews will never be on the same level as some of you simply because I have limited knowledge of the porn industry. One thing that got my goat was that no one ever said thanks, or thanks for trying. Old management even took down some early reviews with the only explanation being the vague statement "refer to the guidelines." I believe in my first post in the User Forum, someone, no names, called me a shill for praising the glories of a particular site. Management said nothing. As a result, for about a year or so, I stopped posting or reviewing. It's a lot easier to sit back, relax and get the benefit of information from others and not have to donate my time. I only started being a little more active when new management took over. Enough said. This is a friendly place and it's not my intention to disrupt things. My intention is to see as many reviews as possible, good or bad. The unintentional flawed reviews should be handled more tactfully. Just my opinion. | |

I need a recommendation for video capture software for Mac. I tried Capto but I can't figure it out. Yes, it's to stream from a video site. I don't know if it is legal but I suspect it is in my situation. I have no ethical problem in doing so. I rejoined a site that I had been a member of previously when they had downloads. It was probably the first porn site I joined and I was clueless. And still am, haha. The site had gone streaming only and I had no desire to rejoin. As an aside, I did rejoin momentarily when it was streaming only but there was no notation anywhere before one joined that was the case. They refunded my money. That was last year. They sent an email today that downloads are back. I was thrilled as this had been one of my favorite sites. I rejoined and at a discounted price. However, they only have one choice for downloading - 480p in mp4. That's ridiculous. However, the streaming goes up to 1080p. I'd like to capture the videos in 1080. Since I paid for a subscription and have no intention of posting the videos elsewhere, I feel entitled to download videos in decent quality. I never would have joined if I knew the videos were in 480. Who the heck distributes videos nowadays (or for several years) in only 480?! Anyway, sorry for the long justification, just looking for software. I'm only trying to head off criticism. Thanks. | |

Hopefully this will pertain to others here and I'm not being selfish. I got the jones, I need some fresh videos and am looking for recommendations. I've browsed this site and can't seem to find anything I missed, but it's a huge site and I might have overlooked something. So, help! Here's what I'm looking for, ideally, though I'll settle for something close. * No pro or few pro actors, natural bodies, minimal or no tatoos, body piercings, etc. * Non US, preferably Latin or from someplace different, i.e., Vietnam. I am not ruling out American entirely if there's something that meets my criteria. But I like foreign. * Hardcore BG and BGG but not over the top * I'm Japanesed out I think... I don't think there's much I haven't seen, at least genre-wise. * And of course, a somewhat reputable site, or a place I'm not gonna get ripped off. I do care about quality but I don't care about most other things like navigation. To give you an idea of my likes... 18x, club seventeen, chech av, double view, oye loca, teen mega world, teen core club and yes. Thanks for any ideas. | |

My understanding is that it's ok to talk about non English sites as long as you don't mention a URL. Can someone point me in the direction of a place that reviews such sites? How would I go about finding them? Lord knows I've tried. I am looking for such a site NOT in place of this one, but in conjunction with it. | |

Yeah, I know, fat chance. I joined the worst site ever last week. [See comments.] Their newest content is from 2011 and the quality is so bad that I find it unwatchable. Anyway, I'm chalking it up to a learning experience. However, I received no response to my requests to cancel. I paid by credit card and one of my requests to cancel was sent by email. Will my bank reverse any possible future charges? | |

I joined 8th St. Latinas today, a Reality King site. If I had known it was Reality King, I never would have joined. My experience with them in the past has been less than stellar including their site content. [How they got to be #1 is way beyond me.] In any event, the site is subject to their stingy download limits. After downloading 24 HD files, I got a message I was at my limit and would have to wait 24 hours. I didn't notice anything about such a limitation before I joined and went back to look for one and couldn't find it. I never would have joined knowing this, Reality Kings or not. Can someone confirm whether or not they reveal this restriction before signing up? If they don't, I'm going to dispute the charge if they don't give me a refund. Thanks. | |

I have been looking for hardcore Israeli videos for a while with no success. I don't see any reviewed here. It's my understanding there's plenty of this around. I just don't know anything about the stuff I google. Anyone? I found a promising site, http://www.israelipornmovies.com/, but I have no idea about the quality and it seems you can't get pricing until after you give them credit card info. That's a big red flag for me. Does anyone know of this site? | |

Being somewhat new at paying to download porn, I was really taken aback how crazy things are out there and that normal protections don't seem to exist. I joined a site that took me to Epoch to sign up. I was immediately declined and brought to a second site, no name that I can recall. I now understand that's not a good sign. The next day, I checked my CC account online and saw I was billed by both sites. The contact info for the 2nd site was no good and I ended up canceling my account with Epoch so as only to be charged once. But I knew the day of reckoning was coming. Nothing worked on this site as far as contacting a real person and I had no way to cancel so as not to incur another charge. Lo and behold, I got charged by this site a recurring charge today. I went through hell. I don't understand how a processor whose name appears on a credit card statement can say they have no record of my account and get away with it. I was on a conference call with my bank with them and they pointed out another site, SBW (Secure Billing Worldwide.) The first site was pay-dbmem, or something like that. My bank could only remove the charge. They cannot prevent recurring billing. They said they will send a new card but I;d be responsible for the next 2 recurring bills. Why send a new card then? And how in the world can someone who doesn't exist according to the bank get away with this. Well, they didn't get my money but caused a bit of a nightmare. And my cheapo bank who I've been an A+ customer for years was too cheap to expedite a card to me card via fast mail. I gotta wait 2 weeks. I know a lot about the credit world being involved with processors at work but I never could've dreamt this scenario possible. Would anyone care to name some processors to keep away from? | |

For the 3rd time, my credit card of choice has been declined by one of those evil websites --- first, it was Mofos, second -- I forgot, and just now, 18xgirls. They were all by well known processors, i.e., Epoch, Segpay and I forget the other one. I never had a problem with my credit card up until now and still don't have a problem in the REAL world. After being declined, I was immediately taken to a second site with a less known processor, at least lesser known to me, i.e., pay-dbmem, I forget (my favorite) and Zombaio. The first time it happened, I gave my credit info again to the second site, pay-dbmem. As it turned out, I was charged twice, both by Epoch and db-mem. I tried to cancel with db-mem and, after spending 15 minutes trying to do so with no success, canceled easily with Epoch. [When I called them, they said they had no record of a charge and denied it was the same company even though I called the number on their website.] Same scenario on the the second site. The kick is, I was charged the recurring charge by this secondary processor in both cases because I could not cancel. After all, you can't cancel an account that doesn't exist, which is basically what I was told. When I was confronted with the same scenario on the 3rd site, I decided to use my brain and opt out and not join. I might have to quit porn forever if this keeps going on. I need to call my bank tomorrow to dispute, but I really don't wanna go through this hassle. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? | |

No, not top porn flicks though that's an idea for a later list. Then again, does anyone watch entire porn movies any more? "Deep Throat" was probably the last one I watched in its entirety. Perhaps this is not an appropriate question here. If that be the case, feel free to obliterate this post and I apologize. As the subject sez, I'm looking for a good Latin site. There aren't many rated here and most of them aren't what I'm looking for. Maybe such sites are rare. The site I'm looking for should be filmed entirely or mostly in Latin America, hardcore and the wimmin look like wimmin, not painted (tatooed) warriors. I've become frustrated in trying to find such sites, although I did find a few like Pacino's Adventures. | |

In a short period of time, I downloaded about 2TB of videos. I had nothing better to do with my life than stuff my face with viagra and watch porn all day. Now that my 2 brain cells are kicking in and overtook the battle with the big nasty thingie down below, I realize I have lots and lots of junky videos that I want to eliminate. The problem is that most folders generally contain stuff I want to save and other stuff I want to send to outer space. So, I can't just delete a folder. I use VLC for viewing. However, there's no way that I know of to mark a video for deletion in VLC. Am I missing something? I have videos in all different formats - VLC is the only viewer that I seem to be able to view any format. I use a mac if that's relevant. Therefore, I can't think of an easy way to mark videos I wanna delete. Ideas pleeeeze. Thanks! | |

I downloaded 1TB of videos from YES-Movie. So far, I've dl'd 500GB from a teen site. Still counting. And so on. At the rate I'm going, I'm gonna have to fill up my spare room with hard drives. I'm a relatively new collector of porn videos and I have nearly 3TB so far. The size of one HD video often exceeds 1GB. So, where does everyone store everything? Do you backup? At this time, I have more than sufficient space having bought a docking bay with 4 disks that holds a total of 16TB. With other external drives and my internal drive, I have 20TB. I backup everything including my videos, so double whatever I have to determine my needs. I'm going to do some pruning, but still, I'm going to run out of room in a year the way I figure it. I have other things to store on my drives, not just porn. I'm curious how others handle this issue. | |

I can't seem to find the perfect player. All I wanna do is view - no editing, so nothing fancy is needed. What I do want is the ability to play multiple formats without converting and have multiple playlists. And of course, good quality. I have a Mac but I don't think that limits me. So far, I've tried the following... VLC - it would be perfect but multiple playlists not supported DivX Player - although they claim otherwise, I haven't been able to get it play MOV files iTunes - if all I had was iTunes compatible files, iTunes would be tops on my list if only for the great quality MPlayer - doesn't support multiple playlists Real Player - doesn't seem to accept multiple playlists These are all free, though I think I have a trial version of Real Player and it costs $50, but I'm willing to pay for something that has everything I want. I've asked this question on several video and apple sites and came up with zilch. I'm beginning to think what I want doesn't exist. The story of my life. | |

I'm glad I found this site to ask the questions I've always been too timid to ask. And since I have a snow day and nothing better to do, I have some time to ask what is probably a dumb question. I've always been fascinated by various aspects of the porn industry. Some of the rituals, for lack of better term, as well as some business aspects are incomprehensible to me. Apropos to this site, I don't understand the economics of porn sites, at least the ones where you download movies. They all seem to work basically the same regarding fees. You join for $30 per month or thereabouts and you agree to recurring membership for the same $30. You can opt out immediately of the recurring membership after joining, but you have no choice at the time you join. I'm guessing this is a credit card regulation or some other governmental or quasi governmental regulation. When I join a site, the first thing I do is cancel my membership so it's not recurring. I've never had a problem in keeping my first month's membership. Again, I'm guessing this is a credit card regulation or the site owners simply don't want any credit card disputes whether they're right or wrong. I started thinking about this about a year ago. I joined Trike Patrol, an amateur filipino site, which I loved to pieces. I liked it so much that I downloaded every movie on the site within the first month. So, I cancelled my membership. I got an email from someone there, seemingly one of the owners, asking why I was canceling. I told him the truth and I suggested changing the business model so one doesn't have to pay $30 every month for only a few videos - they upload 1 video a week. He was very candid in his reply and said they did try several different business models and the one in place, the industry standard, was the one that worked best for them. I wondered, how could this be? Isn't everyone like me? I don't consider downloading an entire site's videos as fast as I could an obsession; it was simply a matter of economics. The faster I downloaded, the less I spent. Doesn't everyone think like that? Apparently not, otherwise the industry standard wouldn't be the industry standard, haha. Since joining this place, I've become more familiar with this seemingly multi-trazillion dollar industry. Some places limit you to how much you can download in a day. I was pissed when I joined such a site - the equivalent of about 10 HD videos a day. This did not fit in with my "standard." But it was only one site that I ever encountered this, and the site sucked anyway. My apologies for the long post. But like I said, I have nothing better to do at the moment, haha. Please bear with me if I am wrong in any of my statements or assumptions as I am not overly experienced with the subject. However, I am very curious to hear thoughts from others. Also, if there are any recommended books on the economics of porn, I'd be very interested. Be kind, noobie here who did a search and couldn't find anything relevant... First, I am happy to find this site, had no idea such a site existed. Anyway, I'm tired of the same ol' same ol' big studios showing the same boring stuff. I like to see stuff from different countries and far away from the San Fernando glitz. Good quality stuff is hard to find outside the US, at least for me. Not the greatest example, but one example would be Trike Patrol. The girls are gorgeous, production pretty good, and leans towards amateurish, though the girls are mostly pros. As for mainstream sites, I don't see any sites that come close to hotmovies.com as far as ppm. It's got pretty much what all the other biggies have, but it also keeps track of when you watched a movie and it's got the best search tools I've seen. If there's any sites that are similar to hotmovies with a different or bigger selection, I'd love to hear about it. Sorry to ask ask ask without giving yet, but that will cum. Thanks. | |
