To be honest I rarely get to talk to them as I usually see their portfolio photos first and implants are often easy to spot in those. If they have implants I don't employ them. On the few occasions I did ask they say they did it to get more work and it works too. I guess more sites are worried about size than being natural. I'm with you on this one, Capn.

I like the suggestion someone made of "midcore". It seems that adult sites need some kind of governing body to define non-nude, softcore, midcore and hardcore.

The level of variation and confusion is rampant currently. Some sites don't even know the difference between nude and topless! Webmaster of StripGameCentral and A Measure of Curiosity.

From what I've read over the past few years I would never recommend to anyone based in the US that running an adult site is a viable route to head down. Most of Europe is much more conducive to adult business and adult websites (although you still have to be choosy with banks).

I have been in the industry since 2002 but things were definitely easier to get started back then, I don't think there was less competition but most of the competition was very weak and it didn't take much effort to stand out. Now there is a lot more experience and professionalism in the industry and more seriously targeted investment. That combined with tighter regulation and more stringent legal requirements, means it is much more difficult to start up now. I've heard figures quoted between 90% and 97% as the rate of adult sites which fail within 12 months.

If you are good at it, pick a good niche and have enough resources behind you, you can make a comfortable living at it, but don't think of it as a sensible route to get rich. It's hard work and if anything it's getting harder. Webmaster of StripGameCentral and A Measure of Curiosity.

A lot of hosting companies don't allow schoolgirl uniform material any more. They reckon it attracts the wrong kind of client? Webmaster of StripGameCentral and A Measure of Curiosity.

Iiyama are good, but these days I think Samsung beat them. My current Samsung LCD is amazing. I've had it two years now and I haven't seen anything better yet. Webmaster of StripGameCentral and A Measure of Curiosity.

I don't like breast augmentation, but the most common turn off for me is tattoos. I don't mind the discrete ones so much (small dolphin on the ankle sort of thing), but I really don't like those celtic style designs on the lower back or neck which stretch more than 2/3rds of the way across the body. Big tattoos just remind me of soldiers, dock workers and old factory workers, none of which are in any way mood enhancing. To me they are simply not feminine. Far too much of that sort of thing creeps into softcore sites. It makes the whole softcore area harder to sell as it becomes much less distinct from the hardcore sites out there. I've been trying to market sites for years now which are too explicit for mainstream but not explicit enough for full on porn. When I originally started the softcore market was barely acknowledged at all, at least now people mostly know what it means (although masturbation isn't it as far as I'm concerned), but I feel there is still a long way to go.

I look forward to the day when "adult" doesn't automatically mean "porn". Webmaster of StripGameCentral and A Measure of Curiosity.

I have spent so much time discussing, explaining and comparing video formats with my members. It's made more complicated as the average keeps increasing (both file sizes, quality and resolution), so what was acceptable or desirable last year is outdated and not good enough this year. Then there's the whole compatibility issue. A lot of my members don't like anything which won't play in Windows Media Player.

I've learnt the hard way not to get into the whole codecs and wrappers debate. I try to keep the resolution/quality options down to just two choices. In my experience offering half a dozen or more options causes a lot of customer e-mails requesting advice on which to download.

By the way: AVI and WMV are just wrappers, both support a range of codecs with varying degrees of quality and compression. My current weapon of choice is h264 inside an MP4 wrapper. Webmaster of StripGameCentral and A Measure of Curiosity.

This is one of those polarising topics, most blokes fall into liking them or hating them. Discussions on this topic in my members' forum in the past have been quite heated at times.

Personally I don't like them, especially the most obvious larger ones. I should acknowledge that there are probably more discrete, better quality ones which I would not spot, so I guess those are okay, but the ones that make the breast misshapen or appear unnatural are just a complete turn off for me.

That's why I try to avoid using girls with implants in shoots. Webmaster of StripGameCentral and A Measure of Curiosity.
