Would like to try out 2-3 websites without my wife's knowledge (she wouldn't understand). She pays all the bills and we have joint credit cards and a joint checking account so those are out. I have a checking account in my name only tied to my brokerage account. After 5 years I Used that checking account for the first time ever last month. Signed up for three sites, the first two sites used WTS and the third site used CCbill. A day after the legit charges were debited I was directly charged $49.95 from an investment site I never heard of before. Was not a cross bill. Charge didn't show as originating from WTS or CCbill. That disturbed me so much I canceled all three subs and canceled the brokerage checking and had it reopened with different account number. I'm very leery of using the new brokerage checking acct. although from research ccbill seems pretty legit. Looked into using Prepaid Visa gift cards but seems billers will not accept them. Thought prepaid credit/Debit cards would be the solution but understand you must give your name/address/SSN due to terrorism issues and they mail a embossed card to your residence, so that is out. Looks like my only options are sites that accept snailmail cash or money order payments. Does anyone know of such sites? Am I overlooking any other options.
