Yep, I can totally understand the terse reply, although obviously the webmaster should still at the very least be civil. I guess it's a bit like a bullshit filter (for want of a better term!) to filter out the pirates from the people who genuinely have a problem logging on. Bryci's webmaster was always polite to me, but his attitude of just assuming it was my fault really sucked. It honestly ruined my weekend. I have always paid my way on websites, and it just left me thinking "why bother" as I did the honest thing by paying and got treated like a criminal.
I totally agree there, totally. It's a sad state of affairs that finding quality sites now is so hard. I think it's a combination of piracy, but also webmasters (as above...) who over-protect their websites and alienate people like me. Other things that stop me joining websites are when you can't save ANYTHING (eg, Anna-Angel). It must surely make a bad situation worse because sure her content isn't being shared, but who would join a website where you can't save anything?! Not me!
I don't think you should ever feel guilty about it, so long as you download within the limits set out in the terms and conditions. Hopefully if he is losing out, he understands that sometimes it's worth taking a hit to keep members loyal. I know when websites look out for me I'm more inclined to rejoin, even if there's not tons of new content for me.

This thread is really fascinating, and I'm really glad I stumbled across it. I've had a similar problem (I think) where I was banned from Bryci's website. Unfortunately the webmaster there wasn't so keen on resolving the problem, insisting it was my fault, and as a result I've been blacklisted. The reason given was either that I shared my username/password, or that I had been ripping content from the site. Neither were true. The webmaster didn't believe me, and to this day still claims I should have read the T&Cs, yet I know I didn't break any. I'm a pretty low-level user. I never save entire galleries and every single video. I normally just save my favourite pictures from a gallery, or favourite videos. I am the same in that I use a strong username/password combination (although it might have been automatically assigned there? Can't remember). But I know I didn't share it, and I'm careful what links etc so am pretty confident I wasn't phished. At the time I had a problem with my ADSL (it kept dropping), so I think what probably happened is that my IP number changed a few times within a matter of a day and was automatically blocked. Reading this maybe my password was somehow obtained? What irked me was that the webmaster just didn't want to look into it. Had he investigated or listened to me he would understand that I wasn't stealing from him or sharing my password, but he treated me like an asshole from the outset. All credit to Sinnistar for looking after their customers, as well as their content. I completely respect a webmaster using software to protect their websites, but sometimes they need to use a bit of discretion.
