I often edit some of the photos, but always keep all of the originals. The edited ones get a filename extension. I do a fair amount of cropping, fine rotation with cropping, and occasionally I use Paint to airbrush out an annoying blemish or two. Once I'm done going through a photoset, my favorite pics from the set get copied to my favorites folder for the model. This consists of my favorite pics from all the photosets I have from her across many sites. A pleasant hobby indeed! | |

Interesting question pornpundit! For me, I would be happy to see a return to prominence of good ole regular stripping and fucking. Instead, it seems that there is general trend in porn toward extremes, strange fetishes, and too much anal. Jook the whole webcam business basically involves you directing a model to do what you would like to see. There are a number of sites where the performers include couples--if you are into hardcore. The drawbacks are less than top notch video quality (this will certainly improve over time), and the expense (most private shows at webcam sites will end up costing more than a month's membership to a typical porn site, sometimes 2 or 3 times more). LPee23 mentioned clips4sale, and I checked that out last year, but I agree the prices seem a bit high. But they are custom vids. Along the same lines, there are an increasing number of models at MyFreeCams.com who will do custom videos for prices less than that. You basically email them with your request, and then tip them whatever fee they charge. They make the video, and then post it on an offline website that they give you a password for. Last year I had a model do a custom strip and masturbation vid for me for 300 tokens (a bit less than $30). It was in 720p HD, and she did a great job. MFC also records all of your private shows, in essence, making you a custom video of them (though again, the resolution isn't that great). Of course, there are relatively few porn stars who are also into webcamming, so if you have a short list of porn stars that you are interested in, you are probably out of luck. But its not hard to find models you really like at the bigger webcam sites. I predict that 10 years from now there will be plenty of webcam sites or other sites where models will do custom videos for reasonable prices. And the camera and video resolution will probably be full HD quality. I may get back into webcam sites if and when that happens. Late last year I decided to cancel my memberships at the 2 webcam sites I used, mainly because the video quality just doesn't compare to true HD vids or photography I can get from regular porn sites. They were also just too time consuming, and ultimately too expensive. | |

Biker, here is a thought about external hard drives. I use them exclusively for porn storage, because if my computer should happen to need repair, then I can take it in to a shop without having to worry about the tech finding porn on it. Also, if family members (nieces, nephews) come over to visit, it is easy to disconnect them and put them in a safe spot. Now, if I can just figure out how to stop Chrome from showing my favorite porn sites when it loads up! | |

I follow several dozen models, and use Indexxx to keep tabs on them. I've found Indexxx to be the most complete model index site. Pornteengirl has better set previews for some models and sites, but has a lot fewer models. I remember the day I got my first personal computer, a Gateway 286 with 2 megs of RAM and a 40 meg hard drive. And it had a modem. Windows wasn't around then--this was a MS-DOS machine. I think this was in the late 80s. A friend came over and we spent several hours dialing into various bulletin boards, downloading crappy porn images. That was my first online porn. Later in the 90s, I used to waste a lot of time on UseNet, downloading pirated images. I noticed watermarks on a lot of them, and even checked out a few websites, but the quality was still too low for me to use that as my main form of porn. Late last year I was looking for something new and different from the usual rotation of porn sites I had. I was familiar with TBP, and went over there and did some searching. I pulled up some site, and clicked on the Porn Users link. Monahan, I'm guessing you're not a current member at Met-Art, because most of their sets do start fully clothed, and there are very few fully nude sets. I did a count on the last 80 sets (about 3 weeks worth), and 51 of 80 started with the girl clothed (no breasts or pussy showing). Are you thinking of Femjoy? Despite the high percentage of intially clothed sets, the models typically lose the clothes fast, and there are very few good strip sequences. The photographer Antonio Clemens does the best job of photographing strip sequences. Messmer, I also counted how many of the last 80 sets had panties. It was only 25 of 80, and maybe half of those had the full frontal shots you describe. Met-Art is a good site, but strip-tease and panties are not their forte. | |

Messmer, I think its part of the general trend among photogs and porn sites of neglecting the slow sexy strip tease. I do hit the fast forward, but also the pause button in some solo vids when the view is just right. I've even used slow mo on some scenes. I use Capture Wiz for video capturing at the webcam sites, and it also has a very good screen shot utility. I done a couple of complilations using Windows Movie Maker, but I haven't really mastered it yet. I wish there was something easier, but maybe I just need to take the time to learn the program. | |

When I first read this, I was thinking "what porn are they looking at?" All the porn I've seen shows a variety of shapes and sizes of pussies. Now, if they wanted to say that porn makes women feel strange if they don't shave their pubes--that I could agree with. And if they wanted to accuse the US/Los Angeles porn industry of promoting fake tits; yep, I could go along with that (thankfully that trend hasn't caught on in Euroland). But I certainly don't see a preponderance of small, neat, and symetrical labia in American porn, or any other porn for that matter. And I should know, because I love that kind of pussy, and look for them on all the sites I join. But in the real world and in porn land, I'd say maybe 10 to 20 percent of women have small labia. The majority have medium sized lips. And while my preference is for the small and neat, I really do luv licking em all!  Anyway, I did a little exploring on that site, and I think I found out where the blogger girl (who is Australian) came up with the notion that the porn industry is promoting small labia. Turns out, its the Australian porn magazine industry (and their censors) rather than the American porn industry. Apparently in Australia there are 2 classifications for porn mags--unrestricted and restricted. The unrestricted mags seem to be available for purchase by anyone of any age (you'd never see that here in the USA), while the restricted are for age 18 and older. There are censors who review each magazine prior to publication and decide which category the magazine goes in. If the labia are showing, it gets restricted. If all you can see is a "single crease", it gets unrestricted. So magazine editors have staff people whose job it is to photoshop out the labia. I'm not talking about a little touch up here and there--its completely altering and faking the photo. And if this is the kind of porn that Australian women are looking at, then I'd have to agree that its promoting an unrealistic view of whats normal. Most women have pretty negative views of porn, and if someone on TV or on a blog says that porn is responsible for the increase in this rather bizarre surgery, they just take their word for it. I'd give a good chunk of the blame to the plastic surgeons--almost all of whom never saw a body that they didn't think they could "fix". And they have a huge financial incentive to promote this, since surgeons of all kinds really rake in the dough when they're in the operating room. I wish the blogger girl the best of success in helping women overcome their insecurities about their "lady bits". | |

Probably the best lesbian site I've been a member at was Sapphic Erotica, but its been a couple of years since I've been there. I think the warning sign to look for from the crowds trying to do things like this is the mis-guided notion of "protecting children". Here's a quote from the article by an advisor to the interior minister (the one behind this): "This move is not anti-sex. It is anti-violence because young children are seeing porn and acting it out,". What??? Anti-violence??? How does acting out porn (if that is even happening) constitute violence? It seems as if this person is equating all porn and all sex with rape. And what kind of data or statistics do they have about children in Iceland acting out porn? If they were really interested in preventing children from seeing porn, why not a law requiring porn blocking software on all computers and other devices? I had to re-read the last part of the article several times to calm down. One of the legislative members (a woman) said the proposed law has "zero chance" of passing. But the article does remind me of the anti-porn remarks made by Paul Ryan in the US presidential election last year. | |

I think BabyGetReal hit just about all the nails on the head. For me the number one thing that makes any porn movie good is when the girl looks like she is genuinely enjoying herself and wants to be there. That is a very hard thing to fake. Good porn movies have real girl orgasms, and I love it when "girl cum" drips out of her pussy (though not every girl produces that much natural lube). The best B/G hardcore I've seen was with real amateur couples. I've come across a lot more girl/girl hardcore that I would call good, and I think its because girls in porn are a lot more comfortable with each other than they are with the guys hired by the production companies (who most of the time they just met on the set right before the video was shot). When both of the girls are really into girls it makes for some very hot porn. Girls like Eufrat, Nella, and Jo Guest seem to genuinely enjoy their girl/girl shoots. Other things that make a porn movie good are upscale locations and furniture on the set, relatively little close up time (I want to see whole bodies most of the time in a B/G vid, in contrast to a solo girl vid where I like about 1/3 to 1/2 of the time to be close ups of face, boobs, ass, and pussy), and something other than an ending where the guy jerks off on the girls face. I've grown to loathe facial cumshots over the years. I wouldn't peg the amount of "good" B/G hardcore at only 1%, but I wouldn't put it higher than 5% either. The recent emergence of "heartcore" sites like X-art and Joymii seems to be an effort to correct a lot of what's wrong with hardcore, and their popularity indicates that they are hitting a positive chord among porn users. I still haven't joined X-art yet (so much porn, so little time), so I can't say from my own experience how "good" it is. I do think real amateur hardcore has a lot of untapped potential. Unfortunately, the problem with most amateur hardcore is that it's usually crappy from a technical standpoint (lighting, set, etc). It would be nice to see the big companies out there like 21st sextury, DDF, etc, start sites with true amateur hardcore that was shot professionally. I tried finding such a site on PU and TBP, but gave up after I failed to find anything interesting that was rated 80 or above. | |

LOL Pat362! I have both a desktop (7 year old XP machine) and a laptop (2 year old with a 1080p 17" monitor). HD vids look great on my laptop, and so much better when I plug it into my 60" TV. But my desktop monitor is a 19" monitor with a lot more top to bottom space than my laptop, so I view all my photos on it. I'll be upgrading my desktop soon. The new all in one Macbook types look really nice, but I am still concerned about heat buildup. So I'm thinking about getting a custom-built desktop using a mini-tower and a big monitor. And I'm going to look into monitors that can be rotated (I know I've seen those in the past--don't know if they are still made). Over the years I have come to appreciate the ability of desktops to be upgraded as time goes by. You can add memory, hard drives, CD/DVD players, etc. I don't do any really heavy processor intensive stuff, so I dont need a new processor every few years. I try to start out with a machine that has top of the line CPU, and my desktops last a long time. | |

I was starting to get bored again. Rearadmiral, these are very good questions. I dont have anywhere near that amount of porn, but my two 1TB drives are now full. I just ordered a 4TB drive, which will allow me to load all the porn I have on my two 1TB drives onto the new drive, then use the two 1TBs as backups (to be stored in my storage unit in case of theft/disaster loss at my home). I am very selective about what I download, and I am currently going through my old material and deleting the lesser quality stuff. As for your Unknown #1--I think its unlikely that you will wake up one day and find any major site has just disappeared. But I do believe that going forward, there are many porn sites that are going to have to do something about the size of their collections. Most only go back about 10 years. With HD now becoming the norm (and HD2 on the horizon), the bigger sites are likely to find their archives becoming prohibitly large as the years go by. It is going to become increasingly difficult for some sites to store (and more importantly, coherently organize) their entire collections. One solution for these sites would be to keep only about a decade or so worth of material. Stuff older than that might be subject to deleting. I was a member at KarupsPC about 3 or 4 years ago when they deleted a large number of photo sets and videos from their early years. They gave a 6 month warning to members to download what they wanted from the early material. Some sites might not be so thoughtful to their members when the time comes. As for Unknown #2. I have only had a few external drives in my life, and none has failed on me so far. However, I have had several internal drives fail (1 personal, 2 at work). There really is no difference between internal and external drives, so I do believe in the value of backing things up, particularly if the content is no longer available for download online. And don't underestimate the amount of time you might need to re-download a bunch a material if one of your drives fails (do you even keep a list of what you have on each drive?). There are probably quite a few freeware programs out there that will do a sufficient job of scrubbing your drives. | |

I wish the bigger networks out there would have a "nice pussies" or "perfect pussies" site on their networks. If enough of them had such sites, it could be a niche. I first came across tube sites when I googled a model's name in an effort to find other websites that featured her. So I clicked on a couple of them, and yeah, you could watch a crap quality video, and get links to websites, but the bottom line for me was that the quality was crap. The model index sites and free tours are what I use now when I'm looking for more material on a specific model. In addition, the few times that I've been to tube sites, my anti-virus software invariably got a serious workout. I've never run into anything that it couldn't handle, but I dont' like to take any chances, so I avoid any site that my antivirus flags. I've never used a torrent site, since I am more than willing to pay for content that I like (are people using these to distribute pirated HD porn vids?). As for studios going out of business, I think its a stretch to say that tube sites are the reason--the quality is just too crappy. I think the global recession is as much to blame as anything. On the other hand, file sharing of HD quality vids would obviously be a problem. I consider that stealing, so I don't do it. | |

I feel your frustration dude. The pre-checked cross sells are highly annoying, but unfortunately I think they are here to stay. There have definitely been negative trends in porn over the last decade, particularly in hardcore porn: the general trend toward more extreme and sometime abusive sex, too much anal sex, gagging blow jobs, extremely large dildos and fisting, pissing, speculums, etc. I also don't like what some models do themselves with the excessive tattoos and piercings. I think fake boobs are acutally less common than they used to be, or maybe it's just I won't subscribe to a site where they are prominently featured. Yes Admiral, IMHO it is the golden age. The Fort Knox of golden ages. I remember the days of perusing mags at the local adult store. I would often look through a dozen mags just to find one to buy--and that was usually just for one or two photo spreads, sometimes just for one or two photos. Each model has multiple photo sets (and videos), and most sites have 100s if not 1000s of models. There are thousands of websites out there, with each niche catered to by dozens to 100s of sites. For video, I remember paying $5 a tape to rent a VHS tape. That was in addition to an annual fee at whatever shop it was. All you had to go by was a few photos on the box. Disappointment on viewing the tape when you got home was common. Today, $20 to $30 gets you access to hundreds or thousands of HD quality videos, and you can preview them with a flash player before downloading them for your permanent collection. Many magazines have gone out of business--they just can't compete with digital porn. And I really don't know why anyone rents videos from a bricks and mortar shop anymore. Why bother getting in your car and driving over to the seedy side of town, when you can just point and click from the comfort of your own home. I wonder if any of the shops I used to go are even there any more-I doubt it. I'm old enough to remember the first IBM and Apple desktop computers in the late 70s and early 80s. In those days no one could have even dreamed about the internet that we have today. It really is incredible. Sometimes its almost laughable how we nitpick the shortcomings of the sites we review. Today's porn is hugely better in terms of both quality and value than what we had in the old days. And I am of the opinion that it will only get better. These are great times that we live in! | |
