Over the past couple months, they've made a few changes to the technical qualities of their videos that I think are worth mentioning. The first is that they've introduced 4K (3840x2160) videos, becoming the first site to offer 4K scene downloads. The earlier scenes are around 11Mbps, the newer ones are a little over 20Mbps. The second is that they've upgraded the 1080p versions of the newer videos to about 12Mbps, which puts them in line with other major network sites on a technical basis.
In relation to the $5 Naughty America special running this weekend, they also have a $10 special going for Tonight's Girlfriend. If you're not one to be scared off by the fact that it's streaming-only, it's definitely worth that price.
For anyone who hasn't jumped on the last few deals, they're at $5 for the month this weekend. It recurs at higher than the normal rate, so be careful with staying for more than 1 month, but it's a great deal if you're just looking to get in and get out.
I just joined last week, and I'd like to say a few things. First is that I'm not finding VB3 as hard to navigate/get through as it seems that other people are, with one exception. When you do a search for a girl from the search bar at the top of the page, you get all of her scenes, including the ones that may be on the different channes (Evil Angel, Vivid, etc.). But if you go to a girl's profile page and go to her scenes from there, you only get the ones that aren't part of a channel. I can't really figure out why this happens, either. I know that this happens in VB3, but I haven't check to see if it happens in the old format as well. Second, for about a night, I just could not get the videos to play in VB3. If I went back to the old layout they'd play fine, but in the new layout they would never load. This was cleared up by the time I woke up the next morning, but it was still weird.
It was touched on in an older comment that they had instituted a cap on the amount of free minutes that an account can earn, but no one ever actually said what what the cap is. As it turns out, the cap is 30 minutes. As soon as you have that, the free minute every day button goes away. But as soon as you go back below it, the button comes back (literally, you can watch a little bit of a movie, refresh the page, and if you haven't taken your free minute for that day the button will be there). I wish the cap were a little bit higher, though, because I feel like it's only enough to watch 1 scene, and then I have to wait a week or two to build up enough minutes to watch another one. Upping it even 5-10 more minutes would give enough time to be able to view 2 scenes when filled, so I don't feel as much like I have to keep a queue of scenes worth checking out.
One of things that I said in my review is that AEBN didn't seem to have as many premium titles (i.e. titles that cost more than 1 minute per minute of viewing) as some other VOD sites. What I had based that on was by checking out movies I saw were premium on other sites, and seeing if they were labeled as premium on this site. But in browsing the site a few days ago, I found a movie that I wanted to watch, that wasn't labeled premium on it's main page. So I went to start to stream one of its scenes, and I was taken to a screen that said that the movie would cost 2 minutes per minute, and asked me to confirm. I was surprised by this, clicked no, and checked on the main page to see if I could find anywhere that said that this was a premium title. I couldn't. So apparently they don't necessarily label all their premium titles as premium. So if you're going to buy some minutes for a particular movie, make sure that check first by trying to stream a little bit of it to make sure it absolutely isn't premium.
Wasn't in the mood to write a full review, so I'll post a few opinions here.
The content itself was great. A lot of girls that I really like, and a lot of very good scenes. I will say that if you aren't a fan of implants, this site does tend to shoot them more often that not, though there are some good scenes with girls like Lexi Belle and Lily Carter that would still be worth your time.
I thought that the extended setup would annoy me, but it actually does a pretty good job of building up anticipation for the rest of the scene.
Now, as far as the downloads. As has been said, there are no download links anywhere on the site. But that doesn't necessarily mean there's no way to download the videos. The best way I can describe it is to say that if you know how to download a YouTube video, then you can probably figure out/find a way to download these scenes.
So, in the end, is it worth the original $25 asking price. Without downloads, I don't think so. But it's definitely worth checking out when it goes on sale, which it is doing quite often nowadays.
Right now (and they did this last year), they have an Advent calendar running where each day gets you a free gift (a few minutes, some rewards points, a pre-chosed streaming rental for a week). Last year, I ended up with 2 lifetime rentals and about 30-50 minutes from showing up every day of the calendar. If you're already a member here, I'd suggest going back now, and doing so every day until Christmas.
They're running a special right now at that price (supposedly in honor of Thanksgiving/Black Friday/Cyber Monday). I know that most people are turned off by the fact that the site doesn't officially have downloads, but I've heard their might be some unofficial ways to download the content, and I'm thinking that at $10 a month it might be worth it to see.
Because I think this is going to be the next site I join, I've been reading the comments and reviews and seen a couple people talk about the lack of quality in some of the more recent updates. So I thought about it for a second, and I realized something. That the death of DVD porn is basically the reason for the lessening of quality of the scenes here. Basically, pretty much any studio worth its salt right now, even if they are a primarily DVD company, is setting up its own website for its own content. And because of that, those companies aren't going to sell their content to sites like Videobox because then they lose the main reason for anyone to join their individual sites. The only companies that are going to sell them newer content is companies that just don't want to have an internet presence and companies that try to be more about selling the experience of their website than selling their content (Pink Visual being an example of that). So the only thing they have left to buy is older content. And as DVDs become less and less important, they have less and less new content to buy, and have to search for older content that they haven't bought yet. So either they're going to have to get into the business of creating their own content, or they're going to be left scraping the bottom of the barrel.
They just put up their 5000th scene today, so they announced a special deal on Twitter that they're running for the next week: 5.00 for a month or ~72 for the year. The monthly one recurs for higher than normal, so the PU discount is still better long term, but it's a great deal for the people returning to the site who want to join for a month to download the stuff that has been released since the last time they were there. I generally research before I join a site, so I know what I'm getting into. So I knew before joining Twistys that I was going to a site that is primarily a photo and solo site with some hardcore videos thrown in as well. And for the most part that's been true. But I must admit that I was really pleasantly surprised when I started looking at their older video content and started finding hardcore videos that have to be from around the start of the last decade (technically, these scenes were probably made earlier than the earliest updates to the site). It has honestly been the best thing about my membership so far, since I'm not really much of a picture guy.
One of the biggest things that a site I've joined can do to make me want to rejoin is to allow you to use be able to login after you've let your paid membership lapse. You can't download or stream content anymore, but usually you can view unlimited trailers and have a better look at all the newer content. For me, this makes it much easier for me to see all the content that's been uploaded while I'm away and make a note of it for the next time I want to join. Some sites will even let you still bookmark scenes, which is absolutely great for me. Which is why I found it disappointing that I couldn't use my old membership info to login today after I'd been doing so for well over a year now. This probably isn't that big of a deal to anyone else, but it means I'm probably going to check out a few other sites before I decide to come back to this one.
After only being up for a few months, it looks like they've stopped updating the site, at least for the time being. A shame, since I liked the look of the scenes they'd released so far.
I had the opportunity to rejoin the site last month (won't be reviewing it, though), and I wanted to say something about the picture sets. When I wrote my review about 6 months ago, there weren't many picture sets, and when they were getting uploaded was pretty sporadic. It looks like that changed almost immediately after my membership ended. Now it looks like there's at least one picture set uploaded every week, and while most of them are hardcore, there's a portrait section that just contains solo shots as well.
Since the site just got listed, I thought I'd add some basic info for it for the curious.
102 updates on the site (28 photo sets, 74 videos). The videos seem to be once a week on either Mondays or Tuesdays, with the photo sets sprinkled in between video updates (recently they've done 1-2 picture sets each week). Photo sets downloadable as zip files. Videos download as zip files as well.
The best way that I can describe the content is that it's like The Art of Blowjob, but more varied. The shooting style is similar (they're both run by the same people), but with much more boy/girl hardcore sex (and even a lesbian scene). This site is also based on one couple, which can be a positive or a negative depending on how you want to see it.
Over the past week or so, they've been taking a few scenes down from the site. Not so much that it's a huge amount, but it's noticeable. They've been saying that that the scenes are being re-edited for content, but not many have gone back up so far. So if you have a favorite video that you didn't download, I'd suggest doing it soon.
Just joined a couple week or so ago, and it looked like they were doing a full scene update every day. Then, no updates at all from Sunday to today (Saturday). And the "update" released today is a compilation of teases, and not an actual scene. And the upcoming schedule states that the next few updates are also teases, spread out over the next two weeks, with no full sex scenes. This is definitely disappointing, to say the least.
I've downloaded about 16GB over the past 3-4 hours, and I haven't lost access. So far, no signs of a bandwidth cap, though I'll edit/reply if something changes within the next 24 hours.
So I joined yesterday to take advantage of the 9.95 deal, and I wanted to post a first impression (and ask a few questions).
First, does anyone else find the site annoyingly difficult to navigate? Getting back to the main homepage seems to be much more difficult than it needs to be, and the constant use of tabs for navigation doesn't really jibe with the fact that every tab is actually it's own page that has to be loaded. It also seems harder to find all the scenes by a particular actress if she has more than 10 or so scenes.
Second: Holy moly on the 1080p size. 2-3GB per movie is too much. I'm coming here being mostly familiar with 1080p being about 1.5-2GB, so that one kinda surprised me.
This Friday, they're gonna release their first ever double penetration scene. I definitely don't think DPs are something they are going to make a habit of at all, but now it's something that they are placing on the table as a possibility, whereas before there was kind of an "unspoken rule" against them.

While I am a fan of the big-budget, professionally produced porn, I'm a larger fan of variety. I can't watch the same thing over and over again or I'll get bored out of my mind. So every now and then, I need to watch something that doesn't have all that gloss, sheen and shine over it. Something that looks like what 2 people having regular sex actually looks like. And that's what sites like this one provide.
The way that I would describe the site is as well-shot amateur porn. While they do try their best to get the best angles, and occasionally do a little bit of coaching to get the people into the best positions, for the most part they let the people in front of the camera do what they want. Also, while they do hide some of their mistakes in editing, they also leave some in, kind of in an attempt to show how "real" the whole thing is. They have 2 men that they use for a lot of scenes, but they've also integrated a good amount of couples into their scenes, and recently there have been more couples updates than the ones with their own male talent. The women are of various races, ages, and body types. While more than likely they won't all fit your type, there's enough variety that most people would find some girls that they do like.
While the site looks like it has been around for a while, there isn't a huge deal of content there. I counted about 75 exclusive videos on the site, with an additional 12-15 BTS scenes, and some pop-shot compilations. Updates come about once a week over the past year or so. Each video is only posted in one format (wmv) and one resolution (currently 640x480), and no streaming. I think it would be a nice move if they started offering mp4 downloads in addition to the wmv, and streaming would also be very nice as an option (as long as it isn't the only one). There's also very little in the way of navigation. The video page is presented in what I could probably best describe a "blog-style" format. There's a description for each scene, followed by the download link. All the scenes are listed on one page. And there's basically no way to browse through the scenes except for scrolling down the page. While I think that a model list is a little unnecessary since there's only one of these women who have gone on to become a "professional", what might work is to allow people to jump/browse by date (Sept 2009, May 2010 for example). There is also a comment board where people can leave messages to the webmaster, and it looks like she checks it and responds on a regular basis (almost everyday, actually).
While the site isn't a big as many other ones out there, what it does, I think it does well, and it definitely has room to grow. If they improve viewing options and navigation, and continue to add quality content, I would place this site at the top of my list of places to find truly amateur content. As it stands, it's not that from the top anyway.
The just added a new pricing option of $95.40 for 12 months. Even with the old deal of $15 a month, that's still 12 months for the cost of 6 and a quarter.
