Thrillhouse85, Thanks for the kind words! However, I must say that our servers are located in Dallas, Texas, and we're about to add a full mirror in the Netherlands.
The site is not slow for all North American users (as several people here have mentioned, and as our tens of thousands of North American customers experience daily), just the one who wrote this review.
Thrillhouse85, please email me on abby@abbywinters.com , so we can offer some advice about your speed issue (or at the least, explain why it might be happening).

Nice review of a very nice site!
I joined AW a while ago, and it's one of my favourite sites. I always had extremely fast downloads (1.2MB/s), but frequently found that browsing the site was incredibly slow.
I think at the time however, there was some talk of a DDOS attack that was directed towards AW on the forums, so that may have been the explanation, I'm not sure how it is now.

A great review of one of my favorite sites - but, if I'm not mistaken, their servers are in the U.S. Something to do with Australian obscenity laws or something like that. I'm an east coaster in the States and never noticed anything all that slow about downloads. Then again, maybe we have different ideas about what slow is. AW's not the fastest, but far from the slowest.
Abby seems to follow what goes on here with her site, so hopefully she'll chime in and let us know where we're getting our files from.
