Neither answer really fits.
I'm not ashamed, but I do believe in being discreet. Many people are offended by the very idea of sex except in their own very narrow cultural or religious way. Making unnecessary enemies is always a bad idea. People today enjoy being "outraged" and I don't want to give them the opportunity.

REPLY TO #1 - Jay G :
It wasn't my best designed poll. Sorry there was no really appropriate answer for you, JayG. I'll try harder next time.

No problem, Loki. Thanks for your work on the poll. The comments section is nice because we can explain our more complex answers! My friends and family know I like porn and that is kind of implied, but I would never force my love for porn on those who are offended by the idea.

I picked "don't care who knows".
Having said that, I don't exactly offer up "I watch porn" in conversation either. I do offer my username here at PU for friends to read my reviews so if they're interested in a site they'll join through PU's links.
Funny thing is and I would wonder if it applies to other members here, no one who knows me casually, would ever expect my interest in porn. There's a younger woman who works with my mom that I've become a bit of a mentor to in psychology. More than anything, she's most impressed by me rarely "cussing". I think that's how I look at porn too. There's a time for it, just like there's a time for cussing, but it wouldn't bother me to tell anyone about my interest in porn and most people would be surprised how many people find my interest in porn to be very interesting and even intriguing.

I think it is fairly normal for men to look at porn but I do not broadcast it to anyone. The way the opinions and norms change in the US today, you never really know if something that is marginally acceptable today will get you fired from a job or denied credit 20 years from now. I'm not a public figure, but you never know what somebody might dig up at some point in the future.
For the most part, sex is the 4th conversational taboo behind politics, religion and money. I share those 4 topics with a very small group of friends and relatives and we rarely agree on any of them.
