As a huge fan of story-driven porn, I have chosen to pass up on this site before now. The dark, gritty, nature of the scenes are both a pro and con.
The artistic value of these scenes is quite high, but once you go into artistic, you really need to live up to the “title” of the painting, unless you’re going for abstract.
There are 378 scenes. The updates are spaced out, but very consistent. You should expect 5-6 updates per month.
As much as I want to applaud the writing and storytelling in the scenes, this reminds me a lot of older porn plots that I have seen from studios like Vivid. It could be those scenes are so far in the past, now, that a younger generation hasn’t experienced those plots. It is good storytelling for porn.
All video downloads have at least 1080p, with the majority having 4K.

My number one con is an easy one. A lot of these plots are not even new in porn. The earliest porn I watched had some of these plots. Especially the ones that’s go into religion. There’s stepfamily porn on here. I can’t be as positive about that part of the site as others have been. Now, I have to look at the precursor Pretty Dirty to see if changes were made.
This will be a con I don’t think I have seen in a porn review. Poor casting. If you’re going to have a scene about a psychiatrist, at least make sure the person playing the psychiatrist is not a very well-known porn star |

This was only my second time joining Adult Time. The first time I was just so overwhelmed with it that I didn’t see a lot of what the network had. I joined the year offer last month. I do find a lot of interest in written erotica. My thoughts before the last few weeks, about Pure Taboo, was that I would either love it or hate it. I don’t hate it. I don’t love it either. They can have all the credit for making a dark, gritty, atmosphere, excellent lighting for the scenes, to set the tone. This site is a good example for why most porn companies don’t try to be this story-driven. If you’re going to have humans playing out the story, they are going to need to be very good actors and actresses. A lot of the actors and actresses in these scenes are well-known. I recognize at least 75% of the names. That is why I didn’t review this site the time I was on it before. I felt like I would be too critical of the site that’s trying to at least give us a story.
There are 378 scenes. The update schedule can be a little confusing. There is 5-7 day gap between some scenes, then they will release two scenes in four days. It works out, currently, to 5-6 scenes per month. I have to say my taste in porn must not be too bad. The best scene I have watched so far is Clinical Trial featuring Danny Mountain and Kira Noir. It just so happened to be nominated for a 2020 best AVN scene. That scene, at its roots, is just another doctor takes advantage of female patient scene which we have seen for years in porn. But it is told in the story of the scene, she is an athlete and I know there were some abuse stories that came out about a sports doctor abusing the young athletes. I think they are leaning on that being the taboo. They are using stories that are either known or are familiar to our brains.
I believe the mood, the lighting, the language, the roughness, adds to the taboo nature of the scenes. Because these are just niches, we have seen many times before in porn. Their production values are increasing the taboo-level. None of that is a really a complaint. I really enjoy story-driven porn. You end up in porn with one of two scenarios. You either get repetitive plot story-driven porn or you get no stories, repetitive porn. I will take the story side even it’s repetitive. I will give them credit for creating moods that makes the scenes feel more uncomfortable and tense. I have been looking at Pretty Dirty which is explained to be the precursor to Pure Taboo. I will review it separately. I see a lot of differences between the sites.
the easiest way to describe the scenes on the site is to say you’re going to be put into a scenario and plot meant to make you uncomfortable. That this should not be happening. I would give them a B+ for that. It really should be lower, maybe a C, but I am considering they must create stories their actors and actresses can act out believably. Just some of what I noticed as stories/taboos I have seen in the past. There is a scene called, “Blind Surprise” where there is a blind person in the scene. I don’t think she is blind. She is acting it. One of the very first porn movies I watched. It was before internet porn. Was about a blind man with a woman. He was questioning his sexuality since he could not see. I still remember this because I thought it was so wrong when I watched it. She fingered his butthole to see how he liked that. Then, she had sex with him to see if he liked that better. That scene had to be 1970s or maybe 80s. It was on a tape my dad had. I know as well as anyone that creative ideas are rarely new. On the other hand, if you come into this site expecting something very taboo, you’re not going to get it.
It's a very good site for what it is. It’s one of the sites that makes me glad I bought the year subscription. Hopefully, they keep on with what they are doing and improving it. The scenes are very long. There are not as many 4K videos on this site as there are on other Adult Time sites. I don’t know if time/filesize is a factor in that. All the newer scenes do have 4k. I think if you’re on this specific site for 4K, you may have missed the point. This is a weird recommendation. See it as the site that gives you reason to join Adult Time for a year. There’s a lot of potential on this site. |
