Hi Toadsmith,
Interesting info on the pictures, I hadn't noticed that myself.
Perhaps all those porn scenes featuring brides and bridesmaids are no coincidence but the result of some hard ground work on the part of Canon? ;)

Shouldn't you be contacting Customer Support about this rather than asking here? :)
If you're getting an error message when trying to activate your free pass it means that either:
1) you've run out of time - you have 14 days to activate your free pass, after that the link disappears (if you write to me quickly at support@ddfprod.com with the site you'd like, I'll set it up for you manually), or more probably
2) you have already been a member of (or tried joining) the site you would like your free membership to with the SAME username and our database isn't letting you add a duplicate entry. A quick mail to Customer Support (address above) and we'll delete the old database entry so you'll be able to get your free pass ASAP. Not a problem.
Please contact me if you're having a problem, we usually reply to everyone within 24 hours if possible.

I have checked up on your membership in the meantime and the Christmas Membership link is working fine for me using your pass - it's just taking a little while to load because the database needs to check that the 14 days haven't expired and that you're eligible, so it knows to provide you with the link you need.
Just log in to OBJ, and go to the Customer Support page (link at the top right). Here, click on the "Get your free Christmas membership here" link.
This is the part where you need a bit of patience until the next page loads :)
You'll get a page with a simple drop-down list of our sites and a "Get Free Membership" button - just choose the site you want, click the okay button and that's it - you'll have instant access.
Things should be working fine for you, you need to wait a little for the age to load.
If you are still having problems (could be a browser issue I suppose) please contact me using the support page of the site so I'll get information on your configuration and browser which may be useful.

Your point about the brides & bridesmaids really puts a different light on all those camera ads featuring them. I always assumed they were trying to say that with this or that camera your client's glamorous wedding would look even better - maybe instead they were saying your glamorous porn shoot would look even better! lol

I wish I could afford even an 8th of the equipment he is using - that camera alone is worth more than 4 grand! (Let alone knowing how to use it) You know, DDF Productions should start a porn photography course - that is something I'd save up for a trip to Hungary for, lol (hmmm... $900 for the plane ticket...)

Maybe one of these days I'll organize a Photography Course with famous guest photographers teaching various classes for a week - like those always advertised in PopPhoto - except this one will all be famous pornographers! That would be awesome! I'll have to keep that idea on the back burner...

I would definitely prefer to be behind the camera instead of in front of it - but if there was one week school on porn - hmmm. Well Skip Barber Racing School charges 3 Grand for a two day, high-performance driving school, not including transportation or accommodation - so for 6 days of porn - 6 Grand would be a pretty damn reasonable - I would have to save for a while to build up that much cash, but that would be an interesting experience. Learning the technical side of pornographic photography: composing shots, setting lighting, directing models, editing photos, choosing locations, and so on. That would be worth the money!

As Raven rightly said, if Denys had the time I'm sure he'd enjoy doing courses on photography - I'm sure there's pretty much to be learned from just looking at the sets on our sites, but maybe it's a thought for when Denys retires - The Denys Defrancesco School of Erotic Photography.
The technical side is pretty complicated - Denys has heaps of experience and knows more that anyone I know about the "arty", composition and lighting side of things, about the photography itself - he also works the most of anyone I know, I'd keel over within a week if I tried keeping up with him. He really loves his work. As for the technical, post-shoot side, you can always get someone to help with that and we have a little team here in Budapest of about 15 people working in the background just on the design, retouching editing and technical side of things.
I might talk to Denys about things, he might start work on an erotic photography book, it wouldn't be a bad idea - full of nice pictures of course, but also with useful tips and advice for amateur and professional photographers alike - hmm...you have me going on this one, it might actually happen... :)
Anyway...getting late - have member mails to answer :)

"The Tome of Erotic Photography and Lighting: An In-Depth Guide by Denys Defrancesco" - now that is a book I would pre-order on Amazon.com for sure! It would be especially cool if it was made in the big, coffee-table style hardcover, so it would not only be an important technical reference, it could also be an interesting conversation piece that people could pick up and leaf through. Each instructive photograph printed on glossy heavy-weight paper - built to last a life-time.
