Toadsith (0) I generally try not to - as a good preview page usually is the equivalent of a limited trial. However, I understand a webmaster's hesitation for doing a full trial. If I were running a site, I would focus my efforts on a good preview page and not offer any trial.

I have on occasion accidentally joined a limited trial - that was always upsetting.

Btw, there is a typo in the quiz: "depeding"

kkman112 (0) I've never joined any trial. To pay a few bucks for any trial for a few days and have to remember to cancel if I do not like the site or be charged full price automatically is just too much of an issue. I research a site a lot and then make my decision to join or not to join. I usually do not stay on any one site for a long time. I usually join for a month (or up to 3 if the option is available) then cancel my account. If I like the site I may consider joining again down the road, but I don't like to continually be charged month-by-month for it.

Denner (0) Limited trials are normally worthless - with whose sites it's a matter of standard of preview.

BTW: Good previews seems more and more imported in this jungle.

Agree with Monahan - it's a waste of time and money - even for a couple of bucks.

I fell limited trial is a kind of a trap - and that seems like some kind of reason why these sites only have the limited...
On the other hand I do join full trials quite a lot - at sites I never been before. If I like what I see, I normally go back for the full month deal.
But limited trial: Never.

Jep! Either you trust your content in means of quality and quantity which then results in a more than fair deal for those who are unsure or you only offer crap and then you'll also tend to offer limited trials. That's what I experienced.

I did that a few times and with sites that offer full trials I never went wrong.

pat362 (0) I'm assuming that by a "limited trial" we are talking about a site that offers only certain sections of what's truly available and not the full content for shorter period. In that case I'm with everybody else in thinking thats it's a lose lose situation. If a sites thinks it's material is that good then the preview page will prove it.

Wittyguy (0) I never join for limited trials. If the site lacks a decent free tour as part of the site entrance that should be a big warning right there that the content isn't up to snuff. Between reviews (here and elsewhere) and what the site is offering should be enough to decide on whether to pay or not. I view limited trials as more of a webmaster quick money hit from unwary users.

Only certain sections, only pics but no vids or only lowres content. To me it doesn't make sense to support this and therefore I saw no to limited trials.

Drooler (Disabled) Signing up for a limited trial is to willfully assign oneself a second-class subscriber status. You pay less and you get less, and you don't really know for sure what you'd get if you'd signed up for the whole shootin' match.

I think they're ineffective overall in terms of showing a subscriber what's on a site, though I suppose there could be exceptions.

I tried one or two over the years, but I like full access.

williamj (0) A good preview page is all I need...too many trials are limited and if you don't like good luck cancelling before they bill you the full membership
